  1. confidence There actually little things different about his swing. Just little mechanical things that dont look like big things but make a huge difference. For instance look at his balance from early on the year compared to this year, he seemed a little unstable in the feet and, and also his timing has gotten better. If you noticed in the beginning of the year he seemd to pull out too early, missing the ball. And sorry if you dont want to hear this "crap" about him "working hard with Donny" but I have to believe that. Especially since Mattingly is the hitting coach and it is his JOB to work hard with players to improve their hitting.
  2. ya know what, if you werent a former Marine and I didnt have the respect that I do for servicemen (that I got from my uncle, who is a Nam vet) then I would be pretty much lashing out. But instead im going to try to compose myself. FYI Every post that I tagged as unbiased is just that. (for example this one, which you happened to agree with http://www.talksox.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4322&page=12&pp=15 ) You think that if I say something from an unbiased standpoint that it has to be pro-Red Sox. You're the biased one here. And in no way am I trying to be disrespectful, and if you consider defending my opinion as disrespectful you're just as guilty.
  3. No Kidding!! Because his mother died it is no longer possible for her to see him inducted into the Hall of Fame, so now it is possible that he extends his career because now there is no rush on being inducted. Exactly, SFoC, this is what I was trying to say.
  4. I dont know, I think that for somebody who is in his second year at a new position that he is pretty damn good at it.
  5. read the post that I quoted . In fact ill post it for you. Now because his opinion was that happened overnight doesnt make it so. And he basically came out and said that I contradicted my arguement (which I didnt) and "you lose", which led to my response in the post you quoted. how about before you make posts like the above you read back a bit. And besides, that post had nothing to do with you. And was you're little piece at the bottom supposed to hurt me? I think you're taking this a little too far by attempting to get personal. I have been pretty good about not disrespecting you guys. I expect the same in return.
  6. I admit that curtain calls are a little excessive. The reason there are so many curtain calls is because when a player does something good to help us win we need to let them know that we are behind them and support them to the fullest. Why do I lose? Because you say so?
  7. Bobby are you an O's fan or a Sox fan? Its crazy how much you defend your division rival. And we dont know for sure if anything has happened with Giambi,
  8. so i guess all of those Emmys dont mean anything. Best regional sports network in the country doesnt mean s*** anymore Ive already had this debate before so im not trying to start a big thing, but i will take any combination of the Yes broadcast crew over the NESN crew. ANYDAY Remy is so annoying and Orsillo isnt much of a pbp guy
  9. without a doubt
  10. our best prospect is Duncan. Our best pitching prospect is Hughes, only reason I pick him over Wang is that Wang is in the bigs and has been 90% of the year
  11. what are you talking about. I said he gradually improved and that he DIDNT do it over night You lose
  12. but im not out here accusing Sosa, just my personal feeling is that Sosa used. But I have never posted a post except for the one that you quoted in which i accused sosa of using steroids (and i didnt even accuse him in that post, i just shared my personal feeling)
  13. which side is which player? Im sure they care about it, even if they dont admit, though granted their number one focus is a ring.
  14. absolutely nothing.
  15. As we all know, roger and his mom were extremely close. The reason Roger has said he plans to retire every year (and obviously chooses not to) is so that his mom would be able to see him get inducted into the Hall of Fame. Well now it seems that that is no longer possible. It will be very interesting to see what he does, possibly extending his career as long as he can go, and not only that but how he pitches tonight and how stable his emotions will be. RIP Bess and good luck Rog'
  16. well thats your opinion. And you're probably 1 out of 25 people who would say that. Most people would take the best player in the league 30 or under as opposed to a power hitting DH. And I say best player in the league under 30 because even though Pujols is listed at 25 or 26, this guys is no doubt at least 30, which is why the Cards were reluctant to give him that big, long contract. And besides, I think A-Rod is a better all-around player anyway. The only person I throw into that conversation is Miguel Cabrera. And not to mentionA-Rod is better at 30 in most of the major offensive categories than the record holders were at 30.
  17. you cant blame Cashman, we had 2 first basemen/DH's at the time. What did you want him to do?? And A-Rod being MVP?? Of coarse not, never, not to a Boston fan
  18. Sosa did say to test him in the locker room, and as far as I know he never took that test, nor has he tested positive for anything. Thats not to say that Sosa hasnt ever used because many people think he has (including me). How the f*** do you know what questions were asked when Sheffield took the cream. The conversation could have went like this: BB: Hey Sheff, take this, it worked wonders for my knee. GS: iight thank Bar'. *Sheffield rubs it on his knee* or it could have gone like this: BB: Yo Sheff take this, it worked wonders for my knees. GS: iight man, good lookin' out. GS: By the way, whats in this and then Barry could have went and lied to him or something. Sheff did say thaqt Barry kind of tricked him into using it. The point is that you werent there, you dont know the circumstances, and you dont know what you're talking about. Its easy to speculate, but if you dont know then its not valid. Just like I can speculate about Ortiz, but until he tests positive or it comes out that he uses/has used steroids then its not valid and not worth debating. thats a good point i completely forgot about that.
  19. how do you know its so impossible to happen as quickly as it did. Are you in a position to say that it is impossible to defy the odds? I think not.
  20. did you answer either way?? I dont remember
  21. what was significant about yesterday that they wore it? Like what do Marichal and and September 12 have to do with each other, or nothing at all? How does that show tribute to his statue, does his statue say Gigantes on the jersey rather than Giants??
  22. Im not saying that every Red SOx fan is ignorant, but some are. And when we chant "1918" or "Boston Sucks!" or "26 to 6" (which isnt even a chant) its the same as you guys chanting "Yankees Suck!" and whatever else you guys chant (I know I heard a "2000" chant one time).
  23. are you still on that? Thats a page back. BTW, im not the only person who has gotten irritated with this thread, but just because im irritated with something doesnt mean im going to cut it off. And are you still on that Sheffield stuff? At least with your Giambi accusations he actually admitted to using them on a regular basis. Sheffield however did not. There is no proof Sheffield EVER did steroids except for the one time during the offseason he rubbed cream on his knee. Leave Sheff alone.
  24. http://img382.imageshack.us/img382/3973/bondsgigantes2qn.jpg anybody know wuts up with this?? :dunno:
  25. certainly was
