  1. where in NY are you?
  2. wait a minute, didnt I give him all the credit in the world in that kast post? YES I DID
  3. 22 pages...WOW you guys practically did play-by-play on here. Anyways, even though he gave up 5 runs, I thought Wang had good stuff tonight. Proctor was OUTSTANDING, the offense was completely shut down by Wells, defense wasnt good, add those all up and you get a Yankee loss and a Boston win. We still got 2 more to play.
  4. he's on NESN, what do you expect him to say? I think Wade is pretty nuetral overall in his allegiance. -------------------------- Also, an unrelated point, but the guy who does the pre-game with Eck, or Rice, or whoever is doing it with him that night (I forget his name), this guy just annoys me so much. He is always making anti-Yankee remarks (among other things that annoy me) and tonight for example when talking to Boggs he says "we dont want to see your Yankee ring" ....just little things like that. Be a f***ing professional, Bob Lorenz would never say something like that. Anyways, im not trying to start a war of the Networks...just an unrelated opinion of mine. This is gonna be a great game tonight
  5. I wouldnt exactly call Syracuse Yankee Country but thats besides the point... There is no doubt that Ortiz is the hitter of the year, and there is no doubt that he is the most clutch hitter of the past 2 years. There is absolutely no doubt that if you take him out of the Sox lineup they are not even close to where they are today. There are many things that put him above Rodriguez in this debate, but to me defense and baserunning DO matter regardless of how much you guys dont want them to. And another thing, this is a point that Michael KaY has been hyping for the past 2+ weeks; Ortiz sat out that game at Yankee Stadium a few weeks ago when Randy Johnson pitched. The reason given was so that he could "rest his back" and there is no problem with resting his back, but Francona said before the game "Tell Joe that Ortiz can hit if he brings in a righty". That to me is backing out. If he was as great and amazing as you guys say he is (and trust me, I acknowledge that he is a great player...or at least hitter) then he should have been in the lineup that day. Bottom line is both of these guys have had GREAT years and both deserve to be iin the running for this award. We just have to wait until the votes are cast and see who the reporters pick.
  6. I have no problem sending Wang out, he has had no problem keeping his cool out there the entire year. He's one of those guys who doesnt fold under pressure...but tonight will be the real test.
  7. you're not Angelo are you? lol sorry, one of my best friends uses dipset
  8. I dont know man, Sheff was always a powerhouse even when he was in LA....I dont have the numbers in front of me but i will pull them up later after the game (I dont like to be on the computer during games).
  9. I love how the Red Sox front office scheduled it like this. You know the only reason Boggs is being honored tomorrow is because Luchino wants us in the dugout when number 26 goes up at Fenway Park. Jerkoff. Now watch George respond with the retiring of number 12
  10. with an 8-4 lead dont look for Mendoza in this one. I think we only see him again this year if we clinch, he could pitch a little in the remaining games.
  11. I dont understand it. He was pitching great in Columbus, and could have been a sleeper for the postseason. He could have had a great September if we gave him the chance, but instead Proctor has gotten all of the innings. True, Ramiro didnt have a great game back in the begining of the month, when we actually pitched him for one game, but he at least deserved a shot...especially over Proctor.
  12. i wouldnt count on it, Stanton loved his time with the Yanks. Even when he was with the Mets he was always complaining about the lack of a "professional attitude" over there and was always complaining the Mets organization to the Yankees. I bet he's not too happy about this move. When I walked in the door to find that Mike Stanton was traded to the Sox I was in shock. It hurts, because even though he pitched exactly 1 year for you guys before he pitched for us (Trade deadline 1995 he was traded to you guys from Atlanta, trade deadline 1996 you guys traded him to Texas), I, among others, consider him a Yankee. http://img110.imageshack.us/img110/6400/stan19pq.jpg
  13. Good day so far in Yankee-land (with the exception of the whole Mike Stanton thing, but thats besides the point) Hopefully Joe will finally pitch Mendoza with a big lead. He has had plenty of opprotunitites with huge leads to pitch Mendoza but hasnt, its always either Proctor or Embree that get the spot, lets hope tonight is different.
  14. the difference being that I dont have a thread accusing Tejada, I dont come out and whenever he gets a hit or something say "hes juiced". Its not an issue to me, he hasnt tested positive, so hes innocent in my eyes. The only reason I made a comment is because his name came out in the Palmeiro thing, but its not like I just dragged his name into this out of the blue. You sir, are a hypocrit.
  15. Selig cant ask him to do anything. Even if he wanted to, and even if Giambi agreed to. I think that it should be you guys who put this rumor to rest rather than accusing an innocent man. Get on him when he tests positive, but for now just drop it. Its not like your team is in a race or anything, just enjoy the great baseball thats left and put this other ******** aside until the offseason for something to talk about.
  16. I dont know, my vote goes to Ortiz. Adam's ball is being held by a teammate, not moving at 90+ mph twisting and turning. And Ortiz can hit a home run at Yankee Stadium, in front of 55,000 New Yorkers. I think thats much tougher than trying to kick in the snow. whatever though, not my conversation, ill leave it to the New Englanders.
  17. do I really have to post this again? for the 3rd time..because you guys insist they are juiced, I clearly stated that my thing with Tejada is just SUSPICION, I dont go around the board telling everybody how juiced he is. I keep my suspicions to myself. s***, I hope hes not juiced, hes a great player and is great in Baltimore. You guys on the other hand would love to see Giambi and Sheffield test positive
  18. i dont exactly remember. but it doesnt matter, all I was trying to say is that i wouldnt want to take a chance. some relievers work well on a few days rest while others dont.
  19. no, i wasnt accusing tejada, I was simply voicing my suspicion, we are all entitled to have suspicions, even you guys who suspect Giambi. The difference though is that I dont go on Tejada-accusing binges. You guys have a thread accusing Giambi, I just have a personal suspicion that I keep to myself. Im not coming right out and saying that he is using, it is just a suspicion. For all I know he could be clean, but there has been some things surrounding him in this scandal (Canseco book). But i refuse to say that hes using until he tests positive. see above...we're all entitled to be suspicious.
  20. yo're probably right.
  21. if you want you can go back to that thread and see that I had no problem ranking the Sox prospect above the Yanks prospect in some categories. And I didnt say you did quote me, but you made that statement so i figured I would make one back to defend my player. You take things way to personal. In no way was it an attack on you, its just that you pointed out a bad pitching prospect of ours, so i figured i would point out 2 good ones (and yes, I realize that Mo is not a prospect, but he is a product of our system). Look, this is ridiculous this little fued we have going, im willing to put it behind us if you want to.
  22. and you were obviously trying to get under my skin by saying "Sean Henn says hi". And we were just joking around (at least I was, I didnt do any bashing, all I said was not to forget him) with the DiNardo things, you guys rag on Yankees all the time in a similar manner. And regardless of the one or 2 posts you pulled up, I still think that when I say im being un-biased that im pretty much being un-biased. I have no problem giving the Red Sox their props or anything like that. If they have a better team I would say it. If they have a better Center Fielder I would say it, if they have a better Shortstop I would say it.
  23. just out of curiosity ORS, why would you want all of your pitchers, specifically relievers not throwing for the last 2 games or whatever it would be if they won it as early as you said. That would be 3 days without working due to the day that is designated for the one game playoffs, and there also might be a day off between then and the start of the postseason (dont know for sure), so you might be looking at 4 days off for all of your relievers, which would lead to cold arms with no effectiveness.
  24. yes but Duke, Oliver Perez, and whoever hes thinking of would be a nice front end of the rotation for a long time. Not to mention the young guys they have in the minors and on the big club already.
