  1. This is a couple days old and I havent gotten around to posting it, but the Yanks re-signed Ramiro Mendoza to a Minor League deal. I like this just considering what Ramiro has done for our team over the years. Gotta stay loyal.
  2. I agree, almost like Stanton/Nelson/Mendoza.
  3. I expect the loser of the Small-Sturtze competition in Spring Training to be traded. That would leave 12, and 11 on Opening day as Dotel likely wouldnt be ready by then. But a lot can happen, including trading Pavano or Wright between now and when Dotel is activated. I would prefer to keep the usual 11 man staff. Having 12 last year hurt our bench depth.
  4. List is updated
  5. Why Graf at 2B and Loretta at SS? Why not the other way around? Loretta didnt establish himself as a good player until he became a regular Second Baseman. I wouldnt mess with it.
  6. Anyone have any info on the Winter Leagues this year, such as rosters and things of that nature?? MLB.com had a winterball section last winter, but they dont have one this winter Thanks
  7. yea, thats what im saying, I said he would be a good bench player if you guys got someone else to play SS like Alex Gonzalez or something
  8. Im thinking of applying to Western New England
  9. The Guardians agreed with Danny Graves and Steve Karsay to minor League deals. This will be Karsay's second stint with Cleveland. He was traded by Cleveland to Atlanta in the John Rocker deal. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2265288
  10. I heard that it is pretty likely that they will non-tender him though, but I would tender him and then try to move him if I was Colletti.
  11. I think our offer was $5, which I would have had no problem paying, when healthy this guy is one of the best players. Would have been a risk with a potentially HIGH reward for a pretty cheap price.
  12. I think this is good for the Sox. If you guys get someone to play SS he will be the perfect bench player. If not he will do good at SS. (I would leave Loretta at 2B, from what ive seen IMO Graf is a better SS.)
  13. Muellar's?? What about Nomar's? I think his will be dramatically more emotional. Millar and Damon said last year that if they had to they would go do the same thing somewhere else that they did in Boston. Looks like LA is the destination. How cool would it be for all of them to win a World Series with the Dodgers under Grady Little.
  14. Didnt we have a thread like this a while back?? Anyways..... MLB- Yankees NBA- Knicks NFL- Jets NHL- Islanders NCAA- Fordham/St. Johns I root for all new york teams those are just my favorites. I would consider myself 1 notch above a casual fan when it comes to Football and hockey, not die hard like with baseball and not a big fan like i am with Basketball.
  15. A New Yorker who is a Red Sox fan by choice? LOL, im just playing with you man, welcome to the site.
  16. Ill take a friend of mine who is a Pop-Warner QB and is like 14 over Brady. Thats how much I hate him and the Patriots ! lol
  17. I think it may have something to do with the post size, just for experimental purposes I clicked on edit and rather than adding to the post I cut about half of it out and hit save. After I did that it workd. Then I went to the advanced edit mode and pasted the entire post back. Oh well Going to the advanced edit mode whenever I need to update is going to be a pain in the ass
  18. Maybe they could alternate, one year all the games are played in America and the next year all the games are played in Japan. And Then a coin flip could determine who gets Home Field advantage. Also, not all the games would be played in the host country's team's stadium. For instance, if the games were played in America this year (hypothetically) only the White Sox' home games would be played at U.S. Cellular, the Marines' home games would be played at Wrigley Field in this instance (If the Yankees were the White Sox the Marines would play at Shea, if the Astros were the White Sox, the Marines would play in Arlington, etc.. The clostest Stadium to your own is where the team from the other country would play). thats just how I would organize it. But let's face it, this will NEVER happen. I disagree, though I think the Sox would win, its not as lopsided a matchup as you think. As a follower of Japanese baseball I can tell you that the Chiba leadoff man is extremely fast. I think he is the Center Fielder as well, not positive though. They lack offense as theyre biggest offensive threat is Benny Agbayani (who is a monster over there), who wasnt that great off Major League pitching (granted, he was a pretty good hitter, but there is no doubt that he fizzled out.). Their pitching was good and their defense was great, maybe better than that of Chicago considering how they play pretty much all of their games on completely shaven infields (all dirt, no grass, like American softball fields) or artificial turf. And its not the artificial turf we have over here now, the grassy stuff. IN japan they are still using Astroturf. But I think the White Sox would take it in 5.
  19. you havent seen the list yet until just now? I wonder if everybody else has gone without seeing the list and im just wasting my time doing this :dunno: Thats not good. lol
  20. Nothing major, just something interesting I thought I would post. Appearantly Bobby Valentine thinks that his Chiba Lotte Marines could/should have challenged the WHite Sox in an exhibition series. Ive always thought a 7 game series between the World Series Champs and the Nippon Series Champs was a good idea. Maybe MLB and NPB can arrange this next year. Here's the article.
  21. The actual list
  22. Its only on that post, it works any other time I try to edit a post. And it worked fine on the list post until like yesterday. Its getting very annoying.
  23. The Sox might just stick with the 6 you have listed. Its always a burden on the bench when you carry 12 pitchers.
  24. OK, now that that problem is resolved... Another problem I have is that whenever I hit edit and it goes to the quick-edit format, i make my edits and then hit save...only problem is that it doesnt save. I let it sit for 10 minutes once and it didnt save. The only way to make any progress is to go advanced. Any ideas why that is happening??
  25. Found out what the problem was. The post is too big, so exceeded the maximum amount of characters. Yeszir, can you change this??
