  1. Red Sox fans DID chase Nomar out of town, and the reason he wasnt the franchise player was because of the way he was treated by you guys. The Red Sox showed disrespect to Pedro by not offering him the extra year, and no, you did not chase Damon out, granted, but your Front Office did, "dumbass". You booed Bellhorn and chased him out of town, but he played a huge role in the franchise for a few years there and its wrong. Also, granted, some Yankee fans booed Jeter, I however was not one of them and if you payed nay attention at all you would remember that there was a huge conflict among fans who booed Jeter and those who did not. Those who did are *******s. Without this guy we dont get those 4 championships, so as far as im concerned he could have gone 0-50 and I wouldnt have booed him. I didnt, but you're right, some did. But as long as we didnt chase him out of town lol
  2. Thats all fine and dandy...but you're getting nothing in return for Manny. And do you seriously think the Padres will do Young for Wells straight up? Wells is over 40 and this kid young could potentially be a superstar.
  3. Im still trying to figure this one out :dunno: BUt there is no doubt the Jays will be a pretty good team.
  4. wow...way to overanalyze there pal ...It was a JOKE ----------------------------- We hear all of this stuff about him saying he would never play for the Yankees, and im not denying that he said it, but i distinctly remember last offseason him saying that he would be willing to play here when Free Agency comes. Not that it would be his first choice, but he said he would be willing. Just thought I'd remind you all of those thoughts.
  5. Thats not my point, you completely disregard the fact that they were integral in helping you guys win a championship and you just treated them like dirt the following year. This has nothing to do with them going on to be Yankees or playing s***** or anything, it has to do with the disloyal Red Sox fans. The ones who chased franchise players like Nomar, Clemens, and Pedro out of town. I know that I speak for most Yankee fans when I say that John Wetteland, Darryl, Justice, Vizcaino, Chad Curtis, etc.. are all still heros in our hearts due to the fact that they helped to bring us a ring.
  6. lol I heard she was a royal BITCH! Can any SOx fans comment?
  7. Na, i didnt read the posts, mainly because when I first opened the thread it had me like 5 pages back and I didnt feel like reading all of those pages Pedro: I cant blame him for being upset, Schilling comes and Pedro becomes #2 in the eyes of many Red Sox fans. Johnny: Its hard to compare johnny to jeter, Johnny played 4 YEARS in Boston, where Jeter was a Yankee fan growing, drafted by the Yankees out of High School, progressed through the system, became our Shortstop, won 4 championships with us, was named captain, etc.. So Jeter would NEVER do that. A better example probably would have been Matsui or Sheffield. And I would be very upset if that was the case, but I would still acknowledge their assets and not throw them under the bus like RSN has done to many Red Sox contributors in recent years (Bellhorn, Embree, MIllar, DAMON, etc..)
  8. thanks a lot man
  9. Since I havent seen it yet, did the jersey have 18 on the back?
  10. You know what...you are absolutely right BUT...I would still acknowledge his abilities and whatnot and not just throw him under a bus. But I cant say my feelings wouldnt be close to what you guys are showing now. So I take my comment back.
  11. My point exactky, its amazing. If he had re-signed with him they wouldnt be saying any of this stuff.
  12. and for those that dont know, a sandwich pick, or a supplemental 1st round pick is a pick that takes place between the 1st and 2nd round. ORS.. where do you have a list of who has what picks? Im curious.
  13. He said that that one time last year was the only time he ever took steroids...I believe him, he has no reason to lie. And yes, in years past he has served as a pretty good player, not a top outfielder or anything like that but a very good bench player or a decent starter on a bad team or something like that.
  14. I think they get out original first rounder and a supplemental 1st round pic ...not positive though, good chance im wrong.
  15. Oh, sorry, must have forgotten. Thanks
  16. I agree
  17. go for it...I dont know how you're going to get into it, but give it a shot.
  18. That arguement "we didnt commit to an inflated deal..." makes no sense because you offered him the same amount of years. True, we offered more money, but money isnt a factor when it comes to players declining.
  19. true lol
  20. I agree, a healthy Matt Lawton can be a pretty good player. This one came OUT OF NOWHERE! Do you guys think it is a coincidence that his steroids story came out the same day as his signing with the Mariners? I dont.
  21. Thats hilarious, where'd you find that pic?
  22. Too bad I cant stay home for this one. All of the major press conferences last few years Ive stayed home for, SERIOUSLY! I remember last year staying home for RJ, turned out to be a 2 for 1 deal as I also got to see Beltrans as well, but the one that I will never forget is A-Rod's. That whole weekend that that deal wnet down fro, from Saturday morning to Sunday night when we were told it was a done deal I was literally glued to a media outlet the ENTIRE TIME, I could have been a reporter that weekend with how on top of that I was hahah.
  23. Did Huckaby in fact sign? I remember a while back it being close but never hearing any confirmation on that one. ----------------------- NOOOOOO!!!!! i loved Johnny Flaherty. He was a nice Irish kid from New York City. Hes pissed that we let him go. I like Flaherty and I think you guys arent appreciating his worth. The only thing you guys ever look at are stats. Stats wont tell you how good he is with young pitchers, they wont tell you how good a baseball guy he is, they wont show his quiet leadership, they wont tell you that he is very good when it comes to preperation. Granted, he didnt hit much last year, but the year before I remember him coming through with some big hits for us. All 3 years he spent here he played a solid defensive backstop and was always OK with the bat (except last year of coarse), nothing that really hurt us. At least his career will have come full circle, retiring with his original team and I wish him all the best. Thanks Johnny Flaherty (I love saying that hahah...the word Flaherty with the New York accent sounds so cool hah )
  24. I love how you guys point out all of the negative of Johnny Damon now that he is here, but you know that had he re-signed none of this talk of his decline and age would even be brought up. And you are right, I had forgotten that it was 2 draft picks, the 2 picks that are going to make the Sox system so much better than the Yanks system. Well at least according to you guys a couple hundred pages back. Everyone was saying how this is going to make the Sox system far and away better, as if the picks are guaranteed to become superstars. There are tons of highly touted draft picks that dont make it big.
