  1. right, which is why I trade either Small or Sturtze (whoever has the worse ST), or try t get them through waivers and into Columbus. I keep Villone because he is a Lefty and can prove to be pretty good for us. The trucky part comes when Dotel comes back Then it really gets complicated. Looks like Cashman is going to have to trade somebody for a prospect or 2.
  2. lol, I guess so. I guess they agreed to give all of the players both perspectives of the rivalry
  3. yea, it will be nice to have a strong market next year, the last two years havent been too impressive.
  4. Really? I wouldnt have expected that, but of coarse I dont know the guy. I could never drink at a ballgame, even if I was watchign it on TV. I wouldnt be able to enjoy the game. But I would have no problem drinking at or while im watching a basketball or football game or something.
  5. Dave works as an after school activity coordinater...while it is fun, rewarding, and great for the community I wouldnt exactly consider it a real job as you wont be able to get through life on that salary. And doesnt he still live at home? Seems like he fits the description he gave you.
  6. what do you do with Villone??
  7. Lovin the pic....Benny was the MAN!! He had that nice little grand slam streak for the Mets a few years back, but after his time with the Red Sox, where he was overcome with the idiocy of New England, he was forced to move on to the Chiba Lotte Marines of NPB, where he is playing under Bobby Valentine ans is once again The MANN!!! http://img284.imageshack.us/img284/7290/bennymarines5kf.jpg ..but yea, the pic you posted is HILARIOUS
  8. I wouldnt mind bringing J.T. back to the Yankees. It would allow his career to come full-circle if you will. BUt it appears he is headed for beantown and the "Yankees and Red Sox" thread
  9. Oh I definately agree with you man, I just said "could" because I didnt want to insult elsrbueno, so it was my sublt way of disagreeing with him, but respectfully. ..if that one makes any sense
  10. That would be pretty interesting, I would definately commend the Sox if they did that.
  11. thats weird, from watching the show, it seems that of all people Dave was loving it the most. He appeared to ALWAYS be having fun. yea, thats probably why their changing the rules this year, making it so the cast has to be 100% devoted to the production and crew, and throwing them in the apartment together for the duration of the season. All I know is that if I was able, i would definately do the show. It would be a dream come true
  12. lol probably
  13. You're friends with Dave? Dave was the man hahah!! Anything else he said about it??
  14. This is my prediction for the pitching staff (i've posted it before, just dont remember where) Starters Johnson Mussina Wang Pavano Chacon Relievers Small/Sturtze (Whoever has the worse ST I predict will be traded) Wright Villone Myers Farnsworth Rivera When Dotel is ready to come back, I predict that the worst out of Sturtze/Small and Villone will be DFA'd or a trade will be made. Or the Yankees can always destroy their bench depth by carrying 12 pitchers.
  15. Its all Buck Showalter's FAULT!!! he had to include that goddamn dirt path from home to first at the BOB (I believe they changed the name of the park for the upcoming year as a matter of fact). If that was grass we would have won!! lol
  16. 2001 was worse than any of those that you mentioned. 1) 9/11 2) Leading going into the bottom of the 9th game 7 3) Game 4 4) Game 5 5) Paul O'Neill retiring 6) Scott Brosious retiring 7) The assumption that it would be Tino's last year 8) It was the World Series 9) We played well enough to win the damn thing, and we felt robbed 10) All of the above Say what you want about 2003, 2004, etc...2001 will always be muchharder to deal with. If we had won the World Series in 2003 and I made the statement you just made, except switching NY with Boston, I would be villified by every single person on here for being "just another typical Yankee fan" It doesnt matter now, but I bet it mattered to you when you were typing out post number 48.
  17. Did a Red Sox fan just praise a Yankee???? Wow, I think I need a drink.
  18. the question was how many huge wins do we have since 2000, not how many huge losses...smartass!! And no, I wont stoop to your level and list all of the Sox's huge losses prior to 2004, would just take way too much time.
  19. What are the odds of that ever happening? Practically the entire team would be homegrown by the Sox, which we know wouldnt happen.
  20. Just a ranodm question...would you guys, as Red Sox fans make the follwoign trade?? Red Sox Get: Cesar Izturis Jason Repko Dodgers Get: David Wells Abe Alvarez Brandon Moss/Lenny DiNardo
  21. 2001, ALDS vs Oakland = HUGE WIN 2003, ALCS vs Boston = HUGE WIN 2005, AL East Champions = HUGE WIN
  22. Also, Hideki Matsui has decided not to play for Japan in thw World Baseball Classic. Crushing news to japanese people everywhere. http://www.crisscross.com/jp/news/359736
  23. bottom one
  24. Why is it that it was sweeter against the Yankees then say if it were against Baltimore, Anaheim, Oakland, etc..??
  25. I agree, 2001 was way worse I think you are overreading into my post. Of coarse 2004 was bad, and sure it was worse because it was to the sox, but only because every sox fan in the history of history threw it in our faces. All I was saying was that the Sox and (most) of their are as obsessed with the Yankees as they are with the Red Sox. Whenever I watch NESN SportsDesk they are always comparing the two, TC is always putting the Yankees down, fans chant Yankees Suck even when they are not playing the Yankees, fans chanted Yankees Suck at the Patriots SuperBowl celebration, about half of the articles about the Sox in Boston papers mention the Yankees somewhere, there are numerous Yankees Suck websites out there (I can only think of 1 anti Red Sox site off the top of my head)...I could go on forever with examples, but I think you should get my point. Some Sox fans would rather the Sox lose and the Yankees lose than the Sox win and the Yankees win.
