  1. Been a few days but I got the updates done ....didnt include the Chad Bradford to the Mets and MIguel Cairo tothe Yankees yet because they still havent been announced, but those will likely be the destinations for the two.
  2. Do you guys flick the boogers after you pick them?? .....Baltimore has a lot of good young players in their system, which they showed us last year in September, and theyre not taking them into account at all. They had the 2Bman, Bernie Castro. and for some reason he was a Free Agent (6 years I guess, didnt think he was that old) and signed with Washington. I think he was a guy that they should have made sure they held onto, if Tejada was traded Robers or Castro could have played SS. They have that big ugy, Walter Young (looks like Mo Vaughn..in his later days ) for first base, so idk why they are getting Connine to be the everyday guy, Burnitz could be a good signing for them, but if I was Baltimore I would prefer to give a young guy a chance.
  3. http://img332.imageshack.us/img332/8979/palmeiropointing5we.jpg After you get He Hate Me, head over to the Bronx and shoot whoever is responsible for this, and if it George, then head down to Tampa directly and take care of him (if I havent already done so ) ....Palmeiro needs to prove himself first. Paige and Skip were talking about this on Cold Pizza and Woody was throwing ideas out there such as him going to play in an independatnt league, Japan, etc while at the same time having an independant tester test him every two weeks. That wont happen, but it would be Raffy's best bet.
  4. Come on, nobody could guess "The Immortal", Cy Young??
  5. I dont think you were serious, but if you were no ..Ruth didnt come onto the scene until 1914 ...hint: He is not mortal (giveaway)
  6. Here's an easy Red Sox one for ya ...who started game 1 of the 1903 World Series (this is pretty easy, surprised if you dont get it)
  7. Yea, but if I am correct (which I very well may not be) his career started to go downhill from there. Could be thinking of somebody else though. Maybe Ed Yarnall
  8. I was thinking Figeroa, but I was thinking of the wrong first name, I was thinking Nelson (I think thats his first name anyway), the guy who played in the Phillies system a few years ago. And then when I was thinking Ed I was thinking Ed Yarnall, another modern player from about 4-5 years ago
  9. Bobby Bonds was traded to get him, and I know one of his nicknames (if he even had more than 1) was Mick the Quick...the name of the pitcher he was acquired with escapes me right now
  10. what a way to spend a boring night, baseball trivia ...classic, thats what baseball is all about
  11. I wouldnt have known that one lol, I do know however that Mays was on deck in '51 for the Shot heard round the world...kida irrelevent though
  12. dammit...late again, only because I didnt realzie you posted the new question when you did.
  13. McCovey, Bobby Richardson Not sure about McCovey though
  14. was that a subtle implication that we're frontrunners or were you seriously just stating that?
  15. I throw in the towel lol
  16. yea, I was thinking Kent Bottenfield because I knew he was called Hoss, but it wasnt like a common thing. Lol and I only know because Ive been organizing baseball cards the last few weeks and it said "Hoss" on the back of a Bottenfield card...but then I remembered Clarke.
  17. dammit...off by a minute
  18. Oh wait...Horace Clark, right?? Or was that Boss??
  19. Bottenfield ....I believe?? But he didnt play for the Yankees so I know im wrong
  20. Yea, I understand that, but the fact that Myers is mainly a one-batter guy it kind of takes away the depth of the pen. I dont think it will matter anyways, I think Villone will have a better spring than Sturtze. But I just hope Joe decides to only carry 11 pitchers like he usually does rather than carrying 12 like he did last year, 12 totally kills the bench depth.
  21. ok, I will be waiting
  22. wow, looks like im kind of late for this. Ill jump in on the next question. what the hell makes you say that? FYI I have been a big baseball history buff ever since I got into baseball...I remember being like 6 and 7 and reading Red Foley's illustrated baseball encyclopedia thing ..but seriously, I do a lot of reading on baseball and Yankee history. Lately i've been really into pre-1900 Major League baseball, like the PLayers League and the Union Association and all of that. King Kelly, Brouthers, etcc.. but anyways....wheres the next one?
