I dont blame him for that, they were in contention that year, thought a playoff appearance would be good for the franchise (which it obviously would have been). He hasnt made too many bad trades.
I really dont see how. Nothing they have done this year has been too bad, with the exception of the Delgado trade, giving up Jacobs, (who I think could become a very good ballsplayer) and Yusmeiro Petit and trading Gaby hernandez, but it was for Lo Duca, who is a very good catcher, and who is a payer we needed. All of Minaya's signings have been pretty good. Granted, giving Pedro a 4 year deal wasnt the best move, but thats really his only bad (if you could call it that) move. He came to New York (NY= HUGE Vudget) frim Montreal (Mon = VERY VERY SMALL Budget) and he wanted to make an impact. Say whatt you want, but that move made a huge impact on the Mets. Signing a top free agent pitcher doesnt constitute dubbing him a bad GM (You guys added Schilling, pretty much the same thing). Beltran; a lot of money, but again, a move to make an impact, draw some fans, and sign a very good talent in the meantime. We cant even wuestion the Wagner deal, that was a must, and thats pretty much it for the big free agent signings.
IMO the worst move he's made is trading Cameron for nady, but that cut salary. If he was as bad as you guys make him out to be he wouldnt have sliced some payroll and kept Cameron.
All im saying is that I think you guys are being unfair. He didnt do anything the Red Sox wouldnt have done. Trading prospects is something you guys have done as well.
No. It likely wont happen now.
