  1. I believe you. I have just yet to meet one of them. I'm sure they exist though.
  2. Thats just because we have more opportunities to. Seriously, not trying to be a prick, but when a team is in the World Series as much as the Yankees, they're bound to lose to an expansion team a few times. But regardless of if it's an expansion team or the Philadelphia Phillies who have been around forever, theyre still Major Leaguers who can play the game. How old the team is has nothing to do with winning a championship. If you can play, you can win. "26 to 6" "1918" "Boston Sucks" "Who's Your Daddy" ..those chants were enough to furiate Red Sox fans for YEARS. Especially 1918. How come when you guys chant "Yankees Suck" we should just turn the other cheek, but when we do/did our chants, its a big thing. He does not. His fingers refuse to go up there for fear they might get lost. hahah i'm just playing. Nobody loves Torre more than I do.
  3. oops, my bad You're right, I completely forgot that one.
  4. The person who would sit on that type of offer is the person who said they werent going to make a decision until June. Him not accepting the offer makes perfect sense, wait around and see if Theo or Cashman are stupid enough to match or offer more. They probably wont, but it's worth a shot on his part. Doesnt make a difference either way. And I, personally believe that this is true. Drayton loves Roger, and the Stros didnt spend much money in the offseason (except Preston Wilson). And personally, I think the Astros need him. I cant sit and watch an Astros game anymore without being bored for some reason. For the past two years, last year especially, I could sit and enjoy watching the Astros, even if Roger or Andy wasnt pitching. But now, despite who's pitching, I cant seem to sit still and watch the game. They need to make some changes down there. This would be it. And I am not surprised one bit.
  5. Thats sickening.
  6. They are free to make that assumption. They would soon learn from my posts that that isnt the case. My username was made out of my hatrid for the Sox. Not my obsession. But anyways, I tend to see more Sox fans hating the Yankees over rooting for the Sox than the other way around. You guys devote wayyyy too much attention to the Yankees in Red Sox World.
  7. Thats not even true though. The Yankees have the largest National fanbase as well as international fanbase. It doesnt seem that way the last year or two, but for as long as I could remember before that, that was the case. Whenever the Yanks are on the road half the ballpark is filled with Yankee fans. NOT TRUE. But thanks for admitting that you're one of the SOx fans who hate the Yanks more than you like the Sox. I hate the Sox, but its not obsession like with you guys. NESN has as much Yanks coverage as it does Sox coverage for christ's sake (obviously an exxageration. But doesnt seem like it). Sox fans have all these stupid anti-Yankee shirts (granted, Vinny has a bunch of anti-Sox shirts outside the Stadium, but not nearly as many). And Yankee fans dont start Boston Sucks chants when we're playing the Tigers or the Blue Jays. You guys get ridiculous with it. Just because we didnt see them doesnt mean they dont exist and we should ignore them. Thats like saying ignore anything that happened before you were born. And telling us not to be proud of our past championships is like telling Americans not to be proud of the Revolutionary War victory and gaining our indepedance or something. If ignoring the past is what you want us to do, then you've got another thing coming. s***, if that's the case, then every Sox fan who didnt see Ted or Yaz play cant say ANYTING about them, or cant stake any claim to Cy Young. These arguements are not about ourselves, they're about our teams. Teams dont begin and end with our existance. Actually, it's $800 Million. And so what. Its a Stadium. Lots of teams privately finance their own stadiums. Only reason the organization is financing it themselves is because they know they wont get any help from the city after all that happened with the Jets' Stadium fiasco.
  8. I was glad when you guys traded him. For 2 reasons. A) He was a pretty good hitter and I was happy to have his bat out of the lineup, and B ) You guys got BK. Unfortunately, now looking back I wish you guys would have kept him. If you had, perhaps Ortiz isnt the player he is today. Damnit!
  9. No, I was just saying it's a possibility. But s***, as long as Seanez and Foulke are in that pen, I could care less how well the starters do. We can just tear up the bullpen.
  10. If Waldman f***ed somebody to get that job, then that person must have been DESPERATE to get laid. The reason Suzyn Waldman got the job was because she was a Yankee beat reporter for years, and when the Yankees left MSG and started YES they invited her along because of the quality work she does as a reporter. I dont think i've seen a better pre/post game on field reporter than her. Although I do admit she's not too great in the booth. But I am pretty sure she didnt have to sleep with anybody to get that job. If anything, she got that job by NOT sleeping with them. but wow, I cant believe the Boggs thing. Thats crazy ...hadn't heard this before.
  11. Trust me, I am well aware that the liklihood of the Yankees pitching continuing on like this is slim. However, the Sox fans are always quick to state that and then play the opposite hand when it comes to them. Both Beckett and Schilling were injured last year. Maybe something comes up and nags them. That's all i'm saying. I'm tired of the Yankee pitching, which has been better up to this point, getting bashed while the Red Sox pitching staff is always being praised and having excuses made for them when they falter.
  12. I love Adam Kennedy. It would suck if he went to the Sox.
  13. On to Arlington, baby!
  14. Exactly. But he's the only one with any options that could be sent down. If not when Pavano comes back, then definately when Dotel comes back. I cant see the Yankees dropping two veteran pitchers in favor of a kid with options. Trust me, since I heard we were getting Proctor in the Robin Ventura deal I was thrilled, and i've been his number one supporter the past two years. But for business, thats the only thing that makes sense. Hopefully we can trade somebody for a decent prospect and solve this little matter, for now.
  15. Just a little.
  16. Thank You. It needed to be done. Like I predicted he would. Keeps pitching good, by the time Pavano is ready Cashman and co. will be faced with a tough decision. DFA/Trade somebody else, or Option Proctor. Tough call. So there is NO WAY the Yankee pitching can remain good, but Schilling and Beckett being lights out all year is a hands down guarantee?
  17. Red Sox > Yankees? How do you figure? You dont have a lead on us in the standings, thats for sure. We've scored more runs than you guys and out win % is better. Re-think that one. And if the past doesnt mean anything and the present is all that matters, what was the deal during the 90's when you guys werent too great and we were winning championships. The chant was around then too.
  18. Well I feel that 6 years is a fair timetable to look at to take the past, present and future into account. In the past Six years my team has won 1 World Series Championship, 3 American League Championships, 6 American League East Championships, 6 American League Playoff Appearances, 1 Cy Young Award Winner, 1 American League MVP Award Winner, 3 100 Win Seasons, and 31 All Stars (Some Players Counted Multiple Times because of Multiple ASG Appearances). You guys on the other hand only have 1 World Series Championship, 1 American League Championship, 0 American League East Championships, 3 American League Playoff Appearances, 0 Cy Young WInners, 0 American League MVP Award Winners, 0 100 Win Seasons, and 20 All Stars. And even if what you claim in your post is the case, it still doesnt hold water. We've heard Yankees Suck chants for years. Before 2004, that's for sure. All through the Yankees recent dynasty run when they were winning championships the chant was still around. So what was the justification and reasoning for it then?
  19. Hey, we're doin as good as you guys. And even if the Yankees did suck, your post still doesnt hold any water. The Royals suck. Do you hear Royals suck chants? No. It's because the Yankees are the most successful team in all of sports and everybody else is envious. I will admit, it does piss me off when I hear it at other games. Especially when its at a Sox game when the Sox are plating somebody other than the Yankees. All it does is prove mine and Johnny Damon's point that the Sox fans are more interested in the Yankees losing than the Sox winning. Thats simply all it does. It's something I pointed out since i've joined talksox, and it's the truth. Damn, this is another thing i'm tired of. You guys were faced with an 86 YEAR drought. We havent won one in 5 years and you act like we've gone decades and decades without a championship. Please, 5 years is nothing. With 30 teams in the league, going 5 years without winning a championship doesnt bother me when I look back at it. As far as i'm concerned you guys have no room to talk any s*** until year #86 that we've gone without a championship. And hey, I think the improvement Optimist was talking about was in regards to anti-Yankee chants, not the team that's out on the field, dumbass. Pretty much. And while we're on the subject of standings, another petty thing the people of Red Sox Nation pulled was having the Red Sox listed above the Yankees in the A.L. East standing on the Green Monster on Monday, when the Yankees were in fact leading in percentage points. Good job calculating the standings there, jackasses. A nice Yankees/Red Sox arguement has made my day.
  20. Please, i'm sure if we wanted to we could have matched Josh Bard and Cla Meredith. Not too steep a price. We only got involved to dirve the price up for you guys. For all we know we could have offered a better package but the Padres asked Doug where he would prefer and he said Boston, who knows. But trust me, Josh Bard and Cla Meredith would have been easily matched by the Yankees.
  21. Hahaha Freedy always seemed like a stoner to me. Maybe me and him can blaze when the ChiSox come into New York
  22. Dude, put the acid down, turn off the computer, and go lay down for a few hours. It will eventually ware off. Now way man, that was the worst offseason of my life. I couldnt sleep some nights. I tortured myself with Joey Salvia's (for those that dont know Joey Salvia is a musician who also works on the Michael Kay show) songs about the Red Sox beating the Yankees (little quirky songs he made for the show. Go to 1050espnradio.com and click on "Joey's Page" and there they are.). I never want to experience that again.
  23. The best Coney moment post-Yankee playing career would have to be him sitting in the Section 39 bleachers on opening day in 2002. That was great. And then he signed on with YES to do a few games that year. I wish he would have stayed, I liked him on the air.
  24. Damn right baby. Just hand it over on April 1st, we can cancel the season, have our ticker tape parade in nice weather, and the players can go relax on the beach while the fans glow from their World Championship. Sounds good to me.
