  1. I agree. Not a problem for me.
  2. oh s***, game doesnt start until 7. I thought it was earlier ..I guess I didnt have to make this thread so soon.
  3. Jaret Wright vs Johan Santana Bright Side - we've done pretty good against brand-name pitchers this season Not so Bright Side - Jaret Wright is pitching. ..and yes, I had to revert to the "holes" in the thread title. After yesterday, im not taking any chances
  4. Exactly. If the right call is made then that could have been a momentum oush in our favor and who knows, we could have gone on a tear or something.
  5. But only because they wanted to keep it available for Roger. I find it hard to believe that if Roger was definately retired or pitching for another team that Beckett wouldnt be able to wear it.
  6. It also says pathetic managing (which I personally dont agree with. IMO Joe didnt make any horrible decisions. But that's her opinion which is fine.) and the bats going to sleep. But yes, you're right. I'm wrong, she did say it Didnt catch that one. ...But at least she didnt blame it solely on the umps
  7. Nobodys saying we lost because of the umps, we're saying Posada was called out, wrongfully, because of the umps. We lost because the Billion dollar batting order couldnt get it done against $300,000 Scott Baker.
  8. What gives you that idea, that we get more breaks than anybody? I dont know how many Yankee games you've watched lately, but we've been victim of quite a few bad calls so far this season. If Jorgie is called safe there (like he should have been) , thats HUGE and changes the entire momentum of the game and maybe we can pull out the win.
  9. Yeah, I read that a few minutes ago in the paper. That would be interesting, Hunter was my second choice for a Center Fielder this offseason (Behind Ichiro ). Damon's arm is tooooo weak to be a right fielder, but i'm sure we could live. He would make up for it with his bat. But also, a good idea, I think would be to swap him and Matsui if the Hunter acquisition occured. Left field at Yankee Stadium is huge, and Damon has better wheels than Matsui, and also Matsui's arm is a little bit of an upgrade over Damon's. Matsui also DID play Right Field his first few years with the Yomiuri Giants before shifting over to Center. Probably an unlikely scenario, but it would be interesting. Only thing I wouuldnt like about it is that the likes of Melky Cabrera get blocked even more.
  10. The answer to my question is no. For players at least. I dont know about coaches and whatnot. But I suspect that no coaches wore it either. OK, we can resume the original conversation.
  11. A touch off topic, I suppose. But does anybody know if anybody wore #21 after Clemens left the Sox? I'm gonna check now, but I figured I would ask and see if anybody remembers. That includes players, coaches, etc.
  12. Everybody ages differently. With that said, thats all I was saying, I was not agreeing that Manny is "done." This is just a case of a slow start for Manny. No big deal. Maybe he should lose the new hair do
  13. Probably. I was going to say something back on the first page regarding that, saying we should make a new thread, but I forgot about it after someone IM'd me. Damnit!!! What a night, Red Sox win, and Yankees lose too.
  14. It'd surprise the hell out of me. Boomer's a competitior and wants to win. I dont see why he'd do that, especially with an incentive based contract.
  15. I said it in another thread and i'll say it here. As much as it hurts to say this, I think the Sox are leading the race in the Clemens sweepstakes. Of coarse, we could all just think that due to the media coverage, because there has unquestionably been more attention towards Clemens and the Hendricks brothers communicating with the Sox than anybody else. For all we know he could be in the process of negotiating a deal with the Yankees or Rangers right now and we just dont know about it because nobody has leaked anything. I sure hope thats the case, that the media is just making this Boston/Clemens lovefest out to be more than it is, but i'm not so sure. Its going to hurt to see Clemens in the Sox uniform again.
  16. Exactly. Everybody here is not understanding the fact that its a long season. Yankees get off to a 2-4 start and we "suck". Schilling gets off to a great start and no doubt he's back to his old self. Wells has a bad start and hes washed up and cant get anybody out.
  17. Correct me if i'm wrong, but didnt Boomer have a rehab start in Pawtucket? Why the hell would he do that?
  18. This is getting quite frustrating. We want Gordon!
  19. lol yes, very good point.
  20. Thanks. I only watched the first inning. Now im strictly watching the Yankee game and turning to the Mets on commercial. I guess since Schil is doing good I might have to tune in for a few minutes.
  21. I would love to comment on this game, but I REALLY dont want to read through 13 pages of Play by Play.
  22. Try this: Story This was probably due to the book "Game of Shadows." Your thoughts? I would be more on Bonds' side if he wasn't playing that "it's the media's fault" card.
  23. Didnt Morneau wear like 24 or something last year, this year looks like he has 33, or am I mistaken?
  24. You're failing English class, arent you?
  25. Only if you admire mine.
