  1. Time for Paps to prove himself. Been waiting to see this one.
  2. Right, but there also looking to dismantle the team and try to trade away the big salaries. But you're absolutely right. The price just went up with Matsui landing on the DL tonight.
  3. I havent seen the play so I cant really say anything, but from what you say I have to believe that Giambi catches the ball. Applying the tag is another thing, like ORS said. I'll comment more when I see it. DAMMMIT!!!!!! Come on Yankees, dont give this one away!
  4. Please, thats a little bit of an exxageration right there. He was forced to learn how to scoop and play good around the bag playing in Oakland with all the foul territory, and watching him on an everyday basis I can say that he's pretty damn good at the bag. In the field actually making plays is another thing, but when it comes to the bag, Giambi is the man.
  5. hahah I KNEW that one was coming.
  6. Like I said, I didnt see the play. I had just assumed it was a scoop play. My mistake. If it was a scoop play I would keep arguing in Giambi's favor. Now that I know it wasnt, I cant do that.
  7. Again, Giambi is a lot better than people give him credit for, especially around the bag. His flaws come mainly in the field making plays. But on the recieving end, he's pretty good.
  8. No way. Giambi is a lot better, especially when it comes to scooping balls, than people give him credit for.
  9. Bernie's the man! I missed the error on my way in from the car. I havent had power most of the night so I was sitting out in the car listening to the radio. f***!! So not only does the Yankee lead disappear, but my chances of winning the Yankee/Red Sox contest lol
  10. This isnt good. My power's been out all nihgt (until now, obviously) so i've been sitting in the car listening to the game on the radio. Sterling and Waldman had Sam Borden (Daily News beat writer) on and they were talking about the possibility of acquiring an outfielder and specifically mentioned Shannon Stewart and less likely, Torii Hunter.
  11. My mistake. I figured the two went hand in hand.
  12. Couldnt find a picture of Chacon in a Yankee hat?
  13. And in addition to the autographed stuff and season tickets I would definately have to get a nice chunk of cash thrown on tip of it. Otherwise to the highest bidder it goes.
  14. They mark the balls so that they can retreive them and negotiate a deal with the fan who caught it. I, normally am the type of person who holds onto things. I dont sell things of value, I keep them because I enjoy them. However, I would take a picture with the ball and then milk that ball for everything it's worth. I'd get a bunch of autographed s***, try to get season tickets (provided I lived in SF), just a bunch of cray stuff.
  15. I believe you only have to spend 10 years in Boston (not entire career) and go into the Hall of Fame as a Red Sox. So no, unless he goes back for another few years, Nomar has no shot.
  16. Dont mean to jump off topic. But with the possibility of Hansen starting, does this open up the possibility for Papelbon to stay in the closer's role, like I speculated in the Papelbon's Future thread? I heard that Theo said that as long as he pitches the way he's pitched Papelbon is the closer. With Hansen possibly starting and the fact that Paps has been so good in the pen, I think they should just leave him there. If it aint broke, dont fix it.
  17. I was just speculating that the Fenway Infield might be the cause due to his defensive reputation from years prior. I guess the guy just forgot how to field
  18. Riv is a med school student (I believe). I find it laughable that you can compare your knowledge of medicine, obtained through a High School elective class, to Riv's. We better win tomorrow!
  19. What the f*** are you talking about? I ALWAYS post here.
  20. Thats not the case. I take plenty of s*** here. If I was home last night and had a TV in this room i'd have posted. Cant do that. Then you guys would trash us because we dont post enough.
  21. So because he wasnt on last night he's unwilling to take his "lumps"? Talksox isnt the Roman Catholic church 300 years ago, it's a message board. We dont have to devote any specific amount of time to it.
  22. Because we werent posting we're frontrunners? What the f*** do you want us to do, post on talksox morning, noon, and night? 24/7? No sleeping, no eating, just TALKSOX!
  23. I NEVER post during game threads because I dont have a TV in the same room as my computer and I like watching the game for myself, not reading the play-by-play you guys provide. I'm only on tonight because I have school work to do. I COULDNT post last night because I was at the game, and I wasnt online last Monday when you guys beat us. Just a coincidence that i'm on while we're winning tonight. Thanks
  24. What was the roster move there? I read they purchased his contract, but who went down?
  25. You hate us because our team is winning?
