  1. Yeah. The game is on local TV here, not YES, and I guess the same is going on in Cleveland. I hate it when that happens when i'm trying to watch a team I like. Yeah, he's been in the organization a while. Not as long as Mitch Jones (who's been in the organization since about 1954 and has yet to play in a Major lEague game despite his callup a few weeks ago for a game), but it's been a while.
  2. There was a gound ball hit to him, and he made an absolutely horrible throw to Tony Clark at first. But since Tony is about 10 feet tall he was able to grab the ball and get back on the bag. Rather humerous
  3. A-Rod is the best all around player in the American League. He's just slumping. That happens. It's a part of life as well as baseball. Everything's gonna be ok. Yup, the first one being the game on July 1st, 2004 when Jeter went into the stands on that pop-up and hurt his face and had to come out. We were completely out of infielders on the bench and had to moce Sheffield into the infield to play third, forcing A-Rod to play short. After the game A-Rod said he would have preferred to have stayed at third, but considering the circumstances it wasn't a big deal. Yeah, me too. Guys like him, Rickey Ledee, Ryan Freel, etc.
  4. Well look at it this way. Who's a better third baseman, Alex Rodriguez or Miguel Cairo? The fact that A-Rod is the third baseman on this team is the reason why he is playing there and not shortstop.
  5. It's actually A-Rod's preference that he plays third and not short. And as for A-Rod playing out of position...he's not! Alex Rodriguez is a third baseman now. Not a shotstop. Get over the fact that your team didn't get him and leave Jeter, Torre, and A-Rod out of this. You're always so bitter towards everything, just go sit in a corner or something and stop dragging everybody down. And enough with the prima donna s***. Until the likes of Curt Schilling and Manny Ramirez are no longer in Boston, it's ridiculous to criticize Jeter and call him, of all things, a prima donna.
  6. What difference does it make whether or not he is playing second or the outfield? Why should'nt he make the adjustment now? Also, not that it matters, but I highly doubt they move him to the outfield. He's progressed a lot as a defensive second baseman this year, he'll be fine.
  7. Damn...my Quick Reply Quote button isn't working for some reason. Been like this the past few days. This is getting quite frustrating.
  8. Actually, Cashman was on Daily News Live! today on SNY and said Matsui is out the year, with a VERY SLIGHT possibility he comes back in September.
  9. Yeah, the amount of coverage was outrageous. They had it on both ESPN and ESPNEWS. But whatever, it's Roger. I dont mind.
  10. 36 pages? It's almost not even worth posting in this thread. Eh, oh well. Good game tonight. Very good. Not just because the Yankees won, but because it was very exciting and really held my interest throughout. Both pitchers were OUTSTANDING, and it was just a solid game. I'm disappointed at the lack of hitting in the 2-3-4 spots in the Yankee lineup tonight, and Andy Phillips' streak ended. But aside from all that it was a good game. I enjoyed seeing Farnsworth strike out Ortiz again, and then seeing my boy Melky make the great play (I think I should send out some more "I Told You So"'s regarding Melky. I've been behind this kid since last summer and everybody called me crazy, and he's looking damn good this season.). Enjoyable series so far, hope it holds up.
  11. Certainly hope so.
  12. Good post. Very well said. Time to come home and take out the Beanheads.
  13. Dont call us Yankee Nation. It's too much like Red Sox Nation, and I want no association in any way with Red Sox nation. We're Yankee Universe, biacth!! You dont think that maybe he would want a shot at a ring. EIther way he's gonna play, because he wants that money. Might as well work towards a Pennant/World Series bonus, plus a 3rd ring.
  14. idk, i'm sure the Astros wouldnt mind getting rid of that big salary if they know they have no shot at a pennant. Who knows. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it, I suppose.
  15. I am. I was really hoping to sweep four games from the best team in baseball. f***ing Farnsworth!!!
  16. What a game that was last night. I watched that over Mussina's great pitched game.
  17. I believe they said the last time Mo went 3 in a REGULAR SEASON game was 1996. However, we all also remember Game 7 back in 2003 ..it's games like these that make Rivera the BEST, and not Papelbon.
  18. I hope Koby is catching that game. I BELIVEVE (I could be wrong) that before he got hurt he played primarily at third base, because they have several catchers down there in Lexington. Hopefully they throw Koby behind the plate in that game and FSN Houston airs it. That would be amazing. Also, I know i'm getting in on this topic late (computer problems) but I am very upset that Roger didnt come here, but I understand. However, i'm not counting out the possibility of the Astros falling out of it by July 31st and Rog' possibly asking for a trade, like all of the speculation last year. That'd be great!!
  19. Draft Time!! I love it. College Baseball is in it's final stages, and we have the draft quickly approaching. This is when baseball really heats up for the season. (Woulda gotten in on this thread sooner, however my computer is f***ing up due to an electrical storm, and i'm on a s***** school computer.)
  20. I would love that. I'd get more opportunities to boo his ass!
  21. Exactly. I don't mind having Long in the lineup so much, but i'd rather him be in either right or left field and let Sheff or Melky DH. I mean, Sheff has been DHing for a while and needed to get back to the outfield, but Melky could have DH'd just for today. Or even Long could have not started all together and Phillips could have DH'd or played first (having Giambi DH). IDK, just seems like now that Sturtze is gone Joe has found his new lover.
  22. Posada did start out as a second baseman and transferred in the minors. However, when he used to play winter ball (even after he had come up to the bigs) he played first base. So his secondary position is furst, and i'm sure he could still play some second in case of an emergency. But if he were to move anywhere it would be first.
  23. Also, can somebody explain to me what Joe's obsession with Terrence Long is? Why the f*** was he the DH today? I can only recall one day since we brought him up that he hasnt been in the starting lineup.
  24. Hell of a game today!! Good to see Randy throw like that.
  25. No, we're not bitching about you guys buying a championship. At least for me personally, i'm bitching about some of you guys bitching about how we buy championships when you guys just bought one 2 years ago. Please, buy away. I do not care about that. But tell your Sox friends not to be hypocritical and get mad at the Yankees for "buying" championships. Damn, you're an *******. What the hell do you have up your ass?
