  1. Kinda what I was thinking...which makes me nervous about Kansas City...but I think they are having fun with Toronto and using up all there good games.
  2. Nice to see the Devil Rays laying down for the Yankees.
  3. Is it possible to throw 95-97 with a BK Kim throwing motion?? As for Perez if his velocity is gone at age 22 or however old he is....thats very strange. I would think something was up (steroids) cause that doesn't make any sense. The only other explanation is an injury to his arm. If he is damaged goods then there is no sense in trying to aquire him.....but my feelings on Damaso Marte still stand.
  4. Hansen had good stuff and he has just as good a chance getting Huff out as a cold Lopez coming in for one batter. I would expect these kids (Hansen, Delcarmen, Papelbon) to succeed more than they struggle....just let them fight through there inning.
  5. I'm getting really tired of Francona doing that. Craig Hansen pitches an excellent 1.2 innings but gives up an earned run to increase his ERA because Terry wouldn't let him finish his inning. Just let the guys get out of there own jams...he is warmed up, has a feel for the inning....bringing in another guy from the pen is a bad idea....you don't know if he has his good stuff
  6. Another solid inning by Craig Hansen....but question.... Does Jonathan Papelbon have more velocity than Craig Hansen?? I'm not sure if its just the radar guns in Tampa Bay but it seemed Hanen was throwing 93 mph??
  7. I would love to add Damaso Marte....a decent lefty setup man who had success in the AL before.
  8. welll......s***.......Yankees pick up a game on us.....even when they lost 19-1 yesturday
  9. that was impressive even though it was Norton, Branyon, and Wigginton
  10. we have had so many weak at-bats. Lots of ugly swings, off balance attempts.....just ugly....this team doesn't seem pumped up this series at all
  11. anyone a little more interested in trading for a proven quality starting pitcher?? This is starting to get frustrating having to deal with this #5 starter crap.....it just throws us into a slump
  12. He has no command and no out pitches. How the hell did he survive in the league this long?
  13. Anyone hear about Johnny Damon?? Something about a strained oblique muscle?? Wasn't that what happened with Pujols??
  14. I hope this is the last game we will see Jason Johnson.....better news...Julian Tavarez is warming up....oh wait....ugh
  15. Are we talking about Hansen? His fastball deffinitly has a tail to it. Usually starts out left and comes in right. Its not drastic but it does have heat. You are right though as far as command....top notch velocity is only a good thing if you can control it and mix speeds with secondary pitches. He still looks like a pitcher who relies on shear talent to get through innings. Liriano has some serious heat but his breaking ball is nasty and the change in speeds is fooling everyone. It can be the difference between a great pitcher and an average one.
  16. I'll throw out another option... The Chicago Cubs are a mess and I'm sure they would look into making a move. How about Dustin Pedroia, Craig Hansen, and maybe someone else for Carlos Zambrano? Probably not enough but it would be worth a look. Another player I like is Damaso Marte. Adding another lefty to our bullpen would be a nice addition. I'm not sure what Pittsburgh would want in return.
  17. Exactly. The goal is to win the World Series. Obviously you don't want to cripple yourself for the future so the team can no longer compete after a strong push for a championship....but this is the Boston Red Sox. You can guarantee this team would continue to bring in top talent and great players.....there was life in Boston after Damon, Garciaparra, Pedro Martinez, Roger Clemens......the team can recover and move on. ...personally....I think this team is ready to win now...I say they go after that last piece of the puzzle to fill out a great contending team.
  18. Whats the story with Fatty Wells??? I heard he is traveling with the team soon but anyone have an idea of when he can pitch?? I'm not sure if there is a time table yet??
  19. I was real excited when I saw this team pieced together. These guys are all excellent, smart, well-rounded, experienced veterans who know how to play the game. All of these guys can get on base and they can all play defense. The worst defensive player on the Red Sox is Manny Ramirez and he plays a ball off the monster better than anyone. Mike Lowell and Alex Gonzalez are simply amazing to watch. In my opinion they are the best defensive SS and 3B in the league. Mark Loretta is a perfect 2 hole hitter and Kevin Youkilis...despite is suprising great defense....could he possibly be one of the best leadoff hitters in the game?? These position players are very solid and all good teammates with leadership qualities. Eveyone does there job and does it very well. I like the chemistry.
  20. Last I knew Robinson Cano was going to beat out Tadahito Iguchi ...more HRs, more RBI, more runs, more stolen bases, better fielding%, less errors.
  21. I'd take him over Jason Johnson, David Wells, Matt Clement, Kyle Snyder, David Pauley, Lenny DiNardo.....need I go on? ....even for the money I would take him back in a second. One of the greatest pitchers of all time and will continue to have success.
