  1. Hopefully Wakefield can get through the 5th and then Delcarmen, Oki, and Paps can take care of the rest....unless we keep hitting then Bryan Corey all the way
  2. Hagadone owns... 5.0 inning, 2 hits, 0 ER, 0 BB, 7 K ...honestly I think this kid should be in AA and Masterson should be in AAA
  3. Someone hit the ball out of the park....anyone, I don't care...Kevin Cash let it rip...
  4. As if watching Lester walk everyone wasn't enough...Aardsma doing the same. These command issues are rediculous.
  5. douche bag makes a nice defensive play...but can't make the routine ones
  6. Safe to say the guy I hate this season....Julio Lugo
  7. If he could just locate his fastball (the velocity looks good) and find his cutter....he would do well. The curve is nice once in a while but for the most part....fastball, cutter and locate the two.
  8. Lester's inability to throw strikes when he has to is killing him. Not only does it drive up his pitch count but umpires won't give him close calls.
  9. Don't agree. Replacing Delmon Young and Brendan Harris with Cliff Floyd and Jason Bartlett won't improve your team offense. ...Eric Hinske was batting 5th against Mussina, not Floyd.....5th....Hinske....yeah
  10. I just can't help myself...a good lineup?? Eric Hinske is batting 5th. Bartlett, DiFelice, Aybar, Gomes. I'll give you Crawford, Pena, and Upton....but this is not a good lineup
  11. Perhaps a darkhorse for the bullpen at some point this season.... Dustin Richardson just started for Portland 5.0 inning, 2 hits, 1 earned run, 3 walks, 10 K
  12. So clearly the Rays are not a breaking ball team. Every swing is off-balanced and ugly...not like they don't know its coming.
  13. Orel says "there is a good fastball at 88 mph"
  14. The Rays look awesome at the plate. None of them are capable of hitting a curve or a 84 mph fastball apparently.
  15. I can't say I like Aardsma, Corey, or Lopez. I'd rather see the likes of Bartolo Colon (thats right stick him in the pen), Justin Masterson, and maybe trade Coco for a good arm. I like what I see from the rotation. Use Michael Bowden, Bartolo Colon or Julian Tavarez in a pinch fo a starter. Stack the bullpen. I could be getting ahead of myself. We probably won't see the young arms until mid-season.
  16. Looking for a scouting report....all I've read was 92 mph fastball and a good locating slider.
  17. Alright I've seen enough from Chris Carter to know this guy can hit. What a rough position though. Hard to say who is the better hitter between Carter and Youkilis but nobody will confuse the defense. I wish we had somewhere to put the guy.
  18. After reading about Bartolo Colon's latest bullpen session, I'm starting to get the feeling he may start with the team this season. We will get a better feel once he pitches in his first spring training game but I guess he was locating and throwing all of his pitches. If that is the case I don't think Tavarez, Snyder, or Buchholz will be in the rotation come the start of the season. I still think Clay Buchholz is going to have a great year but I'm all for starting him in AAA. I'd like to see him limited in innings pitched for the first 2-4 months and be ready to rock for the second part of the season. Let him get his mechanics straightened out, his arm strength up, and some real confidence dominating in AAA. So far this spring I've heard nothing but good observations from John Farrell regarding Bartolo Colon. This may turn out better than I originally thought.
  19. He has issues finding the strike zone. I saw him pitch once this spring where he was hitting 95 and had a good slider...but couldn't get it over the plate. Manny Delcarmen had the same issues when he was 24 and has gained consistency over the past couple seasons. I could see the same path for Craig Hansen. Luckily we don't need to rely on him this season, he can sit in AAA until he figures it out.
