    You know I was contemplating that earlier in this game when they showed his pitch count. I'm sure the coaches tell him to attack the zone more yet he continues to dance on the corners and not force the zone. If thats what he wants to do then I say let him go to 150 pitches a game. If he kills his arm then...oh well.

    To think the Red Sox will bring up both players this season and use them for an extended period of time is wishful thinking. If Julio Lugo wasn't benched last season while batting under .200 forever, he won't get benched this season (we all know I wish for that more than anyone). As for Chris Carter, I don't think we will ever know That it is but I'll leave off with this. I believe any team that loses it's best hitter will take a step back, hence the Red Sox would not be the 2nd best offense in the AL if they were to play without David Ortiz.

    So wait...now you're telling me you think they would continue this pace without David Ortiz in the lineup and would still remain the 2nd best offense in the AL?? Did you consider we had more home games in June not to mention interleague play on the road at Cincinnati and Philadelphia which is always a nice place to pad stats? I know you are not one to give in when it comes to a debateable argument

    On the contrary I'm not claiming this lineup is awful. Currently it's pretty bad. What I am doing is making the point that when you say "this is the 2nd best offense in the AL"...it's not a real valid statement unless we are talking about a healthy Red Sox lineup....and we are not

    The pitching staffs of the Blue Jays, Rays, and Orioles couldn't compare to what they are now. When you play a majority of your games against crap pitching....you tend to score a lot of runs.

    Thank a red hot JD Drew for that....it would be nice to make a bet on whether it would hold up through the course of a season, but we can't....but to finish 2nd in the AL I believe would take a Big Papi

    A lineup with a healthy David Ortiz and normal Jason Varitek is second in the AL in RS....this is not that lineup and it's pretty bad. That being said they may snap out of it....too many players are currently in a slump and they will probably all come out at the same time.

    They would put him on the DL. Let's hope he gets the "flu" or whatever MLB teams call the flu these days. I've noticed you really like Ryan Doumit. Everyone on the Pirates is for sale I'm sure but whats up with this guy? He is crushing the ball and generally bats 3rd or 4th in the Pirates lineup. Was he supposed to be this good and can he catch? If he is legite then I wouldn't mind moving some decent prospects to get him. The Pirates also have Marte who has always been a decent lefty.....wheels are churning doesn't sound like a bad idea. Bowden, Kottaras, and a low level prospect for Doumit and Marte??

    lined out, flied out, struck out, popped up.....he wasnt getting a hit....Julio Lugo is a terrible player
