1. P.P.S. What's your next idiotic response going to be? I haven't gotten the full opportunity to laugh at this quote so here it goes. BWAHAHAHAHAHA! So let me get this straight? Despite the tied record, everyone knows DADDY has dominated the series this year, we MANHANDLED you last year during the regular season and postseason, we're sitting ahead of you in the standings...but other than that you are correct! We have nothing else to brag about.
2. So you're saying that after the Sox suffer their first slump of the year, your team is better? So then your logic must be: having a 30 game slump and going 11-19 is better than having a 6 game slump and going 2-3? Dumbass. P.S. Check our dominance over Oakland these last 3 years, then check the way we've played against the Mariners. Now compare it to what you have done against the two. Have you won 15 of the last 17 vs. the A's?
3. You hit in the nail on the head, RedSoxRooter for TODAY'S game as far as Wells is to put the blame on, but game one and two of the series we left 13 men on and I believe 8 men on. In game one of the series we caught breaks and couldn't cash in, blame goes to the bats. Game two, our bats did the job. Game three, it took us 8 innings to get some runs. Add to the fact that we didn't face very good pitchers this weekend, and our bats didn't produce when they were practically trying to GIVE us runs is pretty bad. 4. Yeah...don't jump all over him. I think if we looked hard enough during the offseason, we could have found somebody that wasn't 40+ and could pitch well --- we don't have to follow up the Yankees s***** moves. But I'm fairly satisfied, he did come off the DL prematurely and his numbers are good: IP H R ER SO/BB HR BF G/F PC GSc 04/03 D.Wells...... 4.1 10 4 4 4/1 0 26 4/5 80 30 L 04/09 D.Wells...... 6.1 9 6 6 4/0 3 26 9/5 78 35 L 04/15 D.Wells...... 7.0 6 0 0 3/0 0 26 11/7 96 68 W 04/20 D.Wells...... 8.0 3 0 0 5/1 0 27 13/6 109 80 W 04/25 D.Wells...... 3.2 8 6 6 4/1 1 19 5/1 69 24 L 05/18 D.Wells...... 1.1 9 7 7 0/0 1 13 1/3 49 8 L
5. ...and I'm praying you're right.
6. I say Halama, Millar and Timlin go. I think we re-sign Damon (unless he's asking for huge $$$), Mantei (he's underrated), Mueller, Embree and Payton.
7. Obviously, they will PROBABLY find a way into the postseason...most likely in the wild card spot, though. They'll get there, but they don't have the team chemistry like other teams do...they're just a bunch of 40 year olds stuck together to play, therefore I don't think they find a way to get past the ALDS, not this year.
8. I don't know why I watched the whole thing either... I guess that's what seperates us from Yankees fans. I didn't get home until the 5th inning, but looking at Wells' numbers, I can't imagine how much it looked like he struggled. With tomorrow off and the Sox losing the last 2 series, I think people may start questioning keeping Millar over Youk at 1st. Youkilis' bat has proven that he deserves the start everytime out, and yet he still doesn't start regularly.
9. Everyone know the Yankees aren't this good. Why? Prior to this 10 game winning streak, you were 11-19...sounds EXACTLY like the D-Rays when they went on their run last year (sucked before the streak, sucked after it). The other way you can tell that the Yankees aren't this good is OBVIOUS, Seattle and Oakland are the two teams you've played. Let me remind you, that once you get out of this pansy scheduling, you'll start losing again. Minus Kansas City, you have a fairly tough schedule coming up again in late May and all of June. Once you start playing teams like TAMPA BAY that have proven their superiority to you, you will fall flat on your faces...enjoy your winning, because even worthless teams who play bad for almost a month and a half have a winning streak eventually.
10. Roll call for all who stayed up and watched the whole game: Here.
11. Welcome. (and I'm still laughing about your 2nd sig line, RedSoxRooter.)
12. Sox win tonight, 7-5. Everyone knows the Yankees aren't THIS good...they're just in a winning streak. Soon enough, you'll go back to the way you played, and so will we.
13. Why am I even having this discussion with you? A picture is worth a thousand words..you have to use a few pictures to provide this year's "success" (obviously), though: http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/nm/20050504/mdf551051.jpg http://images.tsn.ca/images/stories/20050503/brown_78283.jpg http://www.msbaseball.com/photogallery/NYY/jason_giambi/ http://www.keys-2-knowledge.com/GRAPHICS/a-New%20York%20Yankees.gif *snicker* Yeah...you know what I'm getting at there.
14. http://www.delorean.com/!!!images/BTTF%20model/profile1.jpg Anything recent to report?
15. Should have played college ball. I give him a 4.
16. The Yankees are my DADDY? So in the last 10 games against you, we're 7-3, but you are our DADDY? We're sitting TWO spots ahead of you...but somehow you claim the Yankees are "our DADDY"?
17. Orioles 24 13 .649 - DADDY Red Sox 22 16 .579 2.5 Blue Jays 20 18 .526 4.5 spankees 20 19 .513 5.0 Devil Rays 14 25 .359 11.0 Keep quiet, Junior. Keep your mouth shut and look at the standings, dumbass. Yankees suck.
18. It appears for now we've switched places with the Yankees...we're losing, they're winning. Never fear, I have a good feeling about tonights game. Last time I had a good feeling that we were going to start winning was before game 2 in the Detroit series after the game 1 loss (We went on to win 8 of the next 9).
19. Ah, who cares? She knows I'm right. Besides, doesn't sarah complain enough anyway as it is?
20. HAHA, I won't. I live and die for this team as well.
21. 13?!?! Yeah...actually, it looked that bad watching it.
22. I added some more to the Red Sox/A's preview. So again before I go watch the game, here's the link: http://www.xanga.com/home.aspx?user=drew_2k7
23. Thanks, BigPapi...that boosts my confidence a little bit, that these are some pretty good seats.
24. It's not much of a preview because I have to be somewhere, but: http://www.xanga.com/home.aspx?user=drew_2k7
25. http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/276520.jpg THE MAN, Bronson Arroyo: 4-0, 2.91 ERA (0-0, 1.45 ERA in 2005 vs. Oakland) vs. http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/424164.jpg Kirk Saarloos: 1-2, 5.09 ERA (0-0, 1.80 ERA in 2005 vs. Boston) In recent history the Sox have had Oakland's number. In fact, since going down 0-2 in the 2003 ALDS to the A's, the Sox have won 14 of the last 15. Tonight's game features a 10:05 PM EDT start and the weather for the game should be fairly nice. At game time, the temperature will be around 62°F with winds out of the west at 19 MPH. There is a 10% chance of rain, but overall it should be a nice one. Arroyo has been HOT as of lately, and has not lost a game all year. To fully understand that, you must know that in Bronson's last 3 starts, he's averaging 3.6 hits per game. Here is Arroyo's game-by-game stats for 2005: IP H R ER SO/BB HR BF G/F PC GSc 04/08 B.Arroyo..... 6.0 3 2 2 4/1 1 22 7/7 95 61 W 04/14 B.Arroyo..... 5.2 9 5 5 1/4 0 30 10/6 104 28 04/19 B.Arroyo..... 7.0 8 1 1 3/1 1 30 10/8 103 59 04/24 B.Arroyo..... 6.0 7 3 3 2/0 1 25 11/5 84 48 W 04/30 B.Arroyo..... 7.0 5 2 2 5/1 0 27 5/11 99 63 W 05/05 B.Arroyo..... 8.0 3 1 1 8/2 1 29 4/12 113 78 W 05/10 B.Arroyo..... 6.2 3 2 1 4/3 0 27 6/10 106 63 I don't know whether or not I'll have time to put a preview up of the series on my site, or not, but if I do I'll provide a link to it in here.
