    It's funny how predictable a hot start from Granderson was. I saw that everywhere. Anyway, that's the best I've seen Nova look. Very few swings and misses, but the curve was decent and he had his best FB of the year. The downward movement was really good. And I echo Jacko's feelings about the offense. Harrison was toast early, they let him off the hook, and then nothing.

    The thread would probably be more interesting if the topic was favorite baseball moments not including the Yankees or the Red Sox. So here are mine... 2002 World Series Game 6 - Angels comeback 2003 NLCS Game 6 - 8 runs in the 8th for the Marlins 2005 NLCS Game 5 - Pujols off Lidge in the 9th Baseball has been really short on great playoff games lately ... and, to me, that's the best part about any sport.

    Completely catchable ball, but Curtis struggles on balls in front of him. Anyway, the first two starts were fun, but this is the real Freddy Garcia.

    Nah, and he wasn't particularly good either. Like I said last night, despite scoring at least five runs a game (for the most part), the Yankees offense is struggling. What changed tonight was that pitchers stopped giving them tons of free base runners.

    That's the kind of thing that pretty clearly shows CC isn't himself. To throw a slider, in that spot, in that count, to that batter ... is so so so horrendous. EDIT: As I said earlier, this was bound to happen. CC isn't throwing the ball any better early in the season than he has in other seasons. For the most part, he has been fortunate. Can't wait for the second half version of him.

    I know you really like to look at the result with these pitchers, but in every start except the one against the O's, I think you'd have to admit that CC hasn't looked all that much like himself. He has got it done, but until he really kicks it into gear, he's bound to get hit at some point.

    And he has ten infield singles, so he's actually a bit lucky to have his numbers are high as they are.
