  1. Of all the people in the CLE lineup it's Josh Barfield that beats you. Go figure.
  2. Ugh I really like the chances of Matsui and/or Cano expanding the lead there, but Matsui GIDP (hard hit ball), and Cano never batted.
  3. Right, his future is still very much up in the air.
  4. Your point about Wang, in short, was why I initially started this thread. It generated very few on-topic replies from Yankee fans, with the exception of ATG13.
  5. 1-0. A-Rod really needs to get going if the Yankees are going to come through the stretch as good as they went into it. EDIT: Give me a break, number five starter on the mound, first and second no one out, bottom of the order coming up, decent hitter at the plate, and you bunt?!?!
  6. Nice offspeed pitch, missed it's spot, but was still a quality pitch.
  7. He's showing an unwillingness to be agressive with fastballs early in the count against the heart of the order. Have to rely on your best pitch Phil. EDIT: Really good 3-2 pitch on Garko, just didn't get the call. It probably was a bit inside.
  8. To be honest, I've been a bit disapointed about Phil's velocity. It has been 90-92 earlier in every start he's made so far this year at the major league level. To make matters worst, on Saturday, he dropped to 88-89 by the fourth inning. Two good fastballs though on Sizemore and Lofton, on the fists, inducing two pop-flys. His only curveball so far was a good one as well, the 1-2 pitch to Lofton which he fouled off. And there was his first change on the first pitch to V-Mart. EDIT: He refused to attack V-Mart with fastballs early in the count, he fell behind, he paid for it. Good hitters will do that to you.
  9. Michael Kay is saying that we won't be seeing Travis Hafner in the lineup at all this weekend, although I haven't found that anywhere else as a definite report.
  10. Agreed, about the lineup part. If Carmona gives them anything close to what he's done lately, they'll almost certainly win.
  11. Hmm, for some odd reason I hope he doesn't. EDIT: The Guardians are all wearing number 14, in honor of Larry Doby. It reminds me of Jackie Robinson day, and, to be honest, I don't really want to be remind of Jackie Robinson day. If the Yankees aren't going to let Carmona's sinker fall below the knees it's going to be a long night. However, he paints the inside corner and he's off to a good start.
  12. Proctor has been very good so far with the Dodgers. 7.2 innings, 3 hits, 1 earned run. He also got the win yesterday. For the record, I'm not trying to make any point here, just saying he's done well so far. I always liked Proctor, so I'm happy for him.
  13. Jorge Posada and Andy Phillips are both out of the lineup tonight with minor injuries. Travis Hafner is also not playing.
  14. Although this belongs in the Yankees Game Thread, I'll post it here because it's a topic of conversation. Guardians Lineup: Sizemore CF Lofton LF Martinez C Garko 1B Peralta SS Blake 3B Nixon DH Michaels RF Barfield 2B The latest Rotoworld has on Hafner is as of this morning at 9:14. It says he is scheduled to undergo an MRI today on his left knee, however he doesn't think it's too serious. He also says that he can't run right now, hence why he's not in the lineup.
  15. Should be a great pitchers duel, obviously. If the Orioles are going to win a game, it would be tonight, although I think the Red Sox pull this one out, but no particular reason for this thinking. Great mojo, by the way. Excellent movie.
  16. Even if Clemens suspension isn't reduced he should be able to serve it around an off-day, possibly August 23, depending on how quickly the league makes it's decision. Therefore the Yankees wouldn't have to call someone else up to make a spot start. However, if his suspension is reduced, even by one game, then there is obviously nothing to worry about.
  17. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7111274?MSNHPHMA I wouldn't be so quick to deal him. He has shown good stuff at times, although I understand he has a lot of weaknesses. I don't want him to become the next Jose Contreras (although he's not that good right now).
  18. I make one post about a pitcher, who has some numbers that sort of scare you about his future (and I think I backed this up), yet you get the reputation being a constant critic? I don't see the logic in that one.
