  1. lol, how's it going?
  2. Haha, yeah. Nobody is here. I was going to post in the Yankee's Game Thread, but I decided against it because I would be basically talking to myself.
  3. Haha, you know what's funny about that catch? It got called back because of a holding call.
  4. Agreed. Sexson last year: .264 BA, .338 OBP, .504 SLG, 34 HRs, 107 RBIs Sexson this year: .205 BA, .295 OBP, .399 SLG, 21 HRs, 63 RBIs Granted Sexson has played in less games this year, but the HRs and RBIs are way down. On top of that, Beltre has a better year, but it's not drastically different.
  5. Edwar should never have been allowed to face the righty Tejada when you have Vizcaino ready in the bullpen.
  6. Detroit and the Guardians are now tied at 5 in the 8th on a 2 run homer by Peralta.
  7. Jacko, as of right this second I agree with your Joe Torre hatred. That was unbelievable dumb.
  8. Wow. Nice job by Edwar there.
  9. Even if the Yankees dugout didn't think Edwar was ready, why wouldn't Posada go out and talk to Hughes to stall? It's probably not that big a deal, but the count is basically starting at 1-0. EDIT: Huge batter here, especially with Detroit about to pick up another win.
  10. Honestly, that is so stupid by Minky to try and take second. Cabrera can't get anyone out if his life depended on it, and you give away an out. The only thing that can do is give Cabrera some confidence back.
  11. Wow, how many middle of the plate fastballs do you want to miss Bobby? EDIT: Third two strike hit off Hughes.
  12. I have to admit, Phil's inability to locate pitches with two strikes is very concerning. I understand that this is his first year, but he is supposed to be a strikeout pitcher. He is awful with two strikes at this point. EDIT: Phil is either off the plate or right down the middle.
  13. These three games for the Yanks might be a chance to gain some ground on Detroit, because they're facing the Guardians (in CLE). Tonight should be an interesting matchup. Hughes has pitched well in his last two starts, while Cabrera has not. The Yankee hitters just need to make Cabrera throw the ball in the strikezone and they should be just fine. Tuesday could also be anyone's game. Although Mussina is coming off a good start, he's going to be working on regular rest, and I expect him to be roughed up. The Yankees are facing Jon Leicester who is 2-1 with a 6.32 ERA this season. However he has had two very good starts so far this month. Wednesday should be a win for the Yanks. Pettitte is coming off a poor start against the Red Sox, but I expect him to rebound nicely at home against the O's. The Yankees really get a nice break with Bedard and Guthrie being gone for the season.
  14. It could easily be argued that the Red Sox outplayed the Yankees this series, and should have swept them. To say that the Yankees are the Red Sox "daddies" is really pushing it. I completely agree about the wild card being in the Yankees hands. They are not exactly facing top-notch competition and they have a 2.5 game lead. But honestly, when you're talking about how many games one team leads another by, at least say the Yankees are up 2.5 in the wild card, but 3 in the loss column. As Kilo said, by only referring to the loss column you're assuming that each team wins their games in hand. The loss column may be slightly more important, but it's not the only thing that counts.
  15. Kilo, I'm not saying that you want to face Sabathia and Carmona, but I don't think the combination of Lackey and Escobar is that much worse. On top of that, the Yankees have played extremely well against the Guardians this year. Neither of those teams are easy by any means, but, for the Yankees, I think Cleveland would be a better matchup for them.
  16. What an unbelievable drive by Alabama to take the lead over Arkansas in the final seconds.
  17. Haha, yeah, the Tigers are really on a role right now. For what it's worth, I can't blame Santana in the least. He had a rough first inning, but he ended up pitching a really good game. Credit to the Tigers bullpen though, they did a terrific job tonight. I'm going to take a look at the schedule's of both team, and then I think I might do my version of the "KiloMetric" for both teams.
  18. Yup. What is scary is that Zumaya was excellent tonight. In the seventh inning he came in with the score 4-3, runners on first and second, and one out. He got Joe Mauer to bounce in a doubleplay and retired Hunter, Morneau, and Cuddyer in order inthe ninth. I just want to hear people like Jacko and Gom back up the statements that the wild card is a lock, especially considering how well Detroit is playing right now.
  19. I'm a Yankee fan and I'm here, but I wouldn't consider myself a troll.
