  1. His problem is more control than velocity.
  2. Please get him out of the game Joe...
  3. A-Rod might not have had a play at first, but he needs to keep the ball on the infield and keep Guzman at first. That is a terrible play. EDIT: This really should be in the game thread. This thread is not about A-Rod's defense.
  4. 3-1 count to Cano. Stammen throws a fastball down and away, and Cano swings at it and hits a weak ground ball. These are the kind of swings, with Yankee hitters way ahead in the count, that have been plaguing this team.
  5. You know, I've always wanted Joba to be a starter long term, but he just cannot throw enough strikes right now to start in the Major Leagues.
  6. Joba does not have a good change up, and, at this point, he should not even bother throwing it. EDIT: Ugh, that was really close on 0-2. EDIT: He is really getting squeezed.
  7. Pathetic. EDIT: Wow.
  8. Brian Bruney, RP
  9. The play involving Offerman was a bad call, but they still won the game 9-2 if I remember correctly. I know the play occurred when the game was much closer, but you can't complain about one call in a seven run game.
  10. I think Jackson is kidding, but if he isn't, I have nothing to say.
  11. This team, right now, is horrible offensively.
  12. I have been saying for the past couple weeks, in the Yankee Game Thread, how bad the offense has looked even when they've been winning.
  13. Right, again, I was not giving up on him at all haha. That would be crazy. And I also said there isn't much you can do with him. However, switching them is the one of the few things I can think of. The Yankees need A-Rod to produce if they want to succeed over the course of the entire season, and then into the playoffs (if they make them).
  14. Oh absolutely, but it doesn't mean that switching him and Tex is a bad idea.
  15. He's now 4 for his last 35. For the first time since he's been with the Yankees, A-Rod is now an issue.
  16. It's the same concept as an unearned run. If wasn't the pitcher's fault that the guy was on base, so it doesn't count against his ERA. I see where you're coming from, but he should not have been on first base. Again, that's a fact.
  17. Oh absolutely. I wasn't complaining. But they did miss a call, and it cost the Yankees a run. Both of those things are facts.
  18. Wow, the offense is terrible.
  19. You can blame the umps for missing the call at first...
  20. Wang has looked good at times, but he's still giving up runs. I think it's time to go to Hughes.
  21. This team is pretty pathetic. What a horrendous decision by Melky Cabrera. However, the bad call really hurt.
  22. He has never struggled this much with the Yankees, and he is one of the main culprits in the Yankees' offensive struggles. This team, as presently constructed, cannot compete for a championship without A-Rod producing in my opinion. Obviously there isn't much they can do, but I think it might help if they switched A-Rod and Teixeira.
  23. Wow, these guys are so bad when they get ahead in the count. And Alex Rodriguez really is horrible right now.
  24. Have to realize that Dunn is the kind of guy that will always have the green light on 3-0.
