    I'm happy about about the fact that, because of the extra off days, Joe has talked about using Hughes and Rivera to get as many as ten outs during the playoffs. In theory, one of my fears for the postseason has been alleviated.

    Even if Sabathia is great, it's not like he's going to carry the Yankees to a World Series. It takes eleven wins to win the World Series. The very most Sabathia could get is six, and that is highly unlikely for a variety of different reasons. The Yankees need the good AJ Burnett to show up. The way I see it, they need to average three wins a series between Sabathia and Burnett.

    No way man. Reports are that, in the postseason, A-Rod sits in the corner of the clubhouse, shaking and crying out of pure fear. How do you expect a guy like that to even make contact?

    You have to respect how competitive Ozzie Guillen is as a manager. Even though his team can't go anywhere, he continues to field his full lineup, and manage these games to win. He holds Jake Peavy off to start an important game, and then he keeps in in an 8-0 game in the 8th inning.

    Tigers down 8-0, and probably the most encouraging part for Yankee fans is that it was off Edwin Jackson. Twins up 7-0. If the Twins win tomorrow (tall order against Greinke), Leyland might be wishing that his lead wasn't going to come down to Alfredo Figaro.

    Alright, now he is really getting hammered. Sabathia's worst outing with the Yankees, and first one in his last twelve starts. EDIT: In response to Rich. I realize this is the Red Sox GT.

    I never denied that he looks awful tonight. I made mention of it in the Yankees' game thread. However, it's more poor command than getting lit up.
