It really bothers me that Molina is catching this game. First off, the only time AJ really pitched great was game two of the World Series. While he had decent lines in game two of the ALDS and game two of the ALCS, he was up and down over the course of the game, and benefitted from a great deal of luck (especially in the ALDS). He also pitched poorly in game five of the ALCS.
That certainly does not justify the decision to leave Molina in there. Considering Matsui is out of the lineup, along with Melky, the Yankees lineup is already hurting enough. If you couple that with the fact that Teixeria and Cano both look lost at the plate, the Yankees need all the offense they can get. Taking out their number five hitter, who is coming off a big hit last night, is a bad move.
