    Except for the 7th inning, Sox pitchers got ahead in counts, that's the way to win.

    It is interesting how Tito is now going to Papelbon in the 8th twice against the Angels but didn't want to do it aganist NY untile he was forced to.. I wonder if he reads the Boston papers.

    The point is, Timlin was throwing better in the 8th than the 7th. OC will not hit the ball out of the park. I would have gone to Papelbon to face Vlad if he got on.

    I really don't understand this move. Unlike the 7th, Timlin was actaully getting ahead on hitters. OC two hits tonight were on 0-2 pitches out over the plate.

    I would like to see Tito argue some calls, even just a little.

    Unlike alot of announcers around the league, these guys are not homers. And Hudler is very good. He was saying the place is rocking with Sox and Angels fans going at each other.

    Pedroia is looking a little overmatched by big league pitching. I guess it has to be expected.

    Rex Hudler makes me laugh. He said OC was "living on the edge" by trying to turn that DP on his own. I find these Angels announcers entertaining.

    Beckett is tossing a great game, but three times he's been burned on bad 0-2 pitches. OC's double and single and Figgins lining out to short. Mirabelli has to help him locate better on 0-2. It's one thing Tek is very good at, setting up a high target on 0-2.

    It looks like Manny is taking his annual August vacation.

    I'm sure he can. It just seems like the organization has been bouncing him around, moving him to 2nd because of Hanley and now apparently grooming him to be the next shortstop, or will he replace Loretta next year.

    I don't like the idea of having him play 2nd in the minors and now come up to play a major league shortstop. It's not a best-case situation for him to feel comfortable and gain some confidence.

    I see he's playing short tonight. Didn't he play 2nd base in Pawtucket or does anyone know if he's been at short in pro ball outside of his college days?

    Wallace officially came back a week ago, but he has been around the team over the last few weeks.

    Just think, if the Sox had won today and yesterday they would have lost only one game in the standings. At least the games the rest of this week will be on late and not viewed by a large audience.
