  1. Did Ramon Vazquez impress anyone? That was a nice little shot he had early in the game... Anyway, I am not happy with Wells at all. I mean, maybe the atmosphere of him being in Yankee Stadium and Skydome (err Rogers Centre) kind of got to him. But he will have to get used to it, both AL East teams.... I'm nervous bout him. I want Schill and Miller back...that's 5 starters for us without Wells. I don't know whether to be worried about Wells or not, someone help me....
  2. It means he can potentially close the other 144 games...or a large fraction of them...it's not all about beating us, actually it might be, but you gotta use your head and get it out of your ass when it comes to the majority of your games.
  3. I don't get why they put the damn thing there...I mean the ones that are already around the stadium on the railings should suffice...
  4. Suddenly hating on Rivera so fast? I can think of many people that I would want out if I had Rivera...
  5. Yeah dude, you won't get much better seats. The monster seats are probably a no-go though. Those cost a lot and good luck trying to find someone who has them...there are so few...
  6. Ty Sizzlin, I thought the same thing. I think he runs his mouth a lot, but like many people think, I don't give a s*** what the players do off the field, as long as they help us win. Pedro may not know when to close his mouth, but he did so much for us. My point being, if Pedro were to come to Boston to pick up his ring, I would be on my feet clapping. Would anyone else join in with me? I would sure hope so. I miss Pedro and I really wish we kept him, but baseball is a business, and what has happened has happened. Oh well.
  7. Varitek bought a house like right around the corner from where I live, and so did Clement.
  8. So, who e-mailed? Details??? Pretty please?????
  9. It's alright, I'm confident with Jay Payton instead of Johnny...after all, Payton did knock in the first run of the season .
  10. Going back to Pedro, just so you all know, it's easier to pitch in the NL. Those K's are impressive yes, but substitute the pitcher in for a DH. Taking David Ortiz out of the game and putting in Schill to bat would really be a guaranteed K wouldn't it?
  11. I'm going to Opening Day, and the sad thing is I'm giong to be in the minority of the group that stands up and claps for him, should he decide to come here. I'm sick of people "f*** Pedro" and "he's a greedy ********." Give it a rest. Seriously. Pedro was one of the best f***ing pitchers Boston ever had. He did so much here, and that doesn't earn him a "f*** you" in return. If he doesn't want to be there...well that's too bad. I hope he does, so maybe he'll see some people still want him to do well in his career and actually appreciated all he did for us. He got the extra year he wanted from the Mets, and he took it. If you were in the same situation, you would do the same thing. People need to realize that baseball is a business, and not a test of loyalty.
  12. And Mannyman1124 and I will be attending opening day at Fenway!!!! Oh, happy day.
  13. Ok, well on Wednesday, the 23rd, I was at the Spring Training game against the Reds. Sean Casey and Adam Dunn are beasts. DO almost cleared that 40 foot tall tarp in straight away center, 410 ft. Anyway, that is irrelevant. While I was there drooling at the nice seats we had, my friend's dad recognized the man sitting next to us, but couldn't quite put a name to it. He had a huge world series ring on, and so we asked him about it. He said it was from the '70s, and my friend's dad immediately recognized the figure as a Yankee. Yep, a member from the '76 Yankees that went by the name... *drum roll* Jim Beady---so I was wondering: Because 1976 was a good 14 years before I was born---->does anyone who was around back then know anything about him off the top of their heads? I know there is something called "google," but I am too lazy to use it. Anyone got anything interesting about him? If so, it would be cool to hear it. And another thing, we also met an agent, I forget his name, but he was an agent for many famous, famous Red Sox...one being Carlton Fisk. I gotta tell ya, you never know what you can find at games in the Spring. I also went to the game on Thursday against the Orioles, and I gotta tell ya, Sosa looked EXCELLENT. Solid contact everytime...he's gunna have a good year. Even the outs that he recorded were smashed to all areas of the deep outfield. So that's my spring training story----now back to the point: Any information on Jim Beady? And also anyone know the name of Carlton Fisk's agent? (I see his face but can't remember the damn name.)
  14. Well he's already said he will come back to the Celtics to it's ok to think this. We are going to sign him as a FA I think.
  15. Curious like Yeszir...and welcome to the site!!!
  16. Whatever, I could care less about what's going on now. The only time we really need to show up is in the tournament. When do they announce what regions the teams will be playing in?
  17. I'm an EA Sports MVP Baseball fan. Sega Sports MLB 2K5 has gone on a slide since it changed its name from World Series Baseball. IMO.
  18. I wouldn't be surprised to see him play, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him retire. He's the type of guy, as a few people who have already said, that will play through anything and would do whatever he could for the Patriots if he was on his death bed. Then again, think about this: 31 years old, just had a stroke at a rare age to have one, has 3 Superbowl rings, and has made good money. I wouldn't be surprised to see him leave, but I hope he doesn't. Bob Kraft will take care of him. Should he leave, he will be a hard player to replace. He is the type of guy that will tell you, "Give me 2 million and I'll play for you." He makes football sound like less of a business. The guy has so much f***ing heart towards us he doesn't care how much he gets paid as long as he has the privilege to play for us. It's things like these that really make me respect the guy he is, and he plays the game right. He keeps up the intensity, and is a team player and leader. Whatever his decision, I will respect him. I wish him the best in the near and far future.
  19. Cheers.
  20. Yea, I figured after I posted it had to be something like that...Sheets isn't the type of pitcher to go on a slide from what I've seen when he's healthy.
  21. Rrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiigggggggghhhhhhhtttttttt I'm sure that's all the COMPLETE truth...
  22. Santana is a great pitcher. Sheets is a great pitcher. If anyone complained about getting either, they should be shot by a firing squad. Santana had proven he can be dominant pitcher. I remember during the season we even went as far to call him a "left-handed Pedro." I wouldn't mind another "left-handed Pedro." Sheets, although he did pitch for Milwaukee, started to slide towards the end of the year if I remember correctly. Santana was dominant every time he went out to pitch. I hope you guys aren't picking Sheets ahead of Santana because you're mad about the Cy Young turnout... (Was sarcasm if you were wondering) EDIT: I agree with SoCalSox, if he had a better team with gloves and bats, he would have looked much more better, which is hard to accomplish despite what we've seen already. He's already a great pitcher, and could get a team like Boston much more wins with the offense and defense we have recently acquired.
  23. Welcome to the site!! Glad to have ya
  24. I was just sayin I'd listen to LaRussa over Jose...ok maybe saying he's "MUCH MORE" credible was a stretch, sorry.
  25. Nope I can tell someone's glad to have me back
