  1. Both pitchers pitching well thus far...0-0 bottom 4, no hits given up by Chen and 1 by Wells. I hope we see this side of Wells a lot more... And yes, I know it's only been 3 full innings.
  2. See? Sox fan in Tex understands... Great minds think alike
  3. Johnny won't take that hair off. Georgy has strict rules now...
  4. More likely to retire if they don't...he's still playing so he can be a part of his family's lives. Period. He won't waive his no-trade clause, and he will finish up the year and probably retire.
  5. I agree with this. George makes it seem like every single damn thing that goes wrong is purely the coaching staff/players blah blah...it's NEVER his fault... Maybe going after some f***ing bullpen arms would help George..you f***ing old f***er.
  6. Guys, when was the last time we posted 19 runs against the D-Rays? Saying the Yanks should have shut them out is like saying we should have scored 19...just give the Yanks their credit, 19 runs against a MAJOR LEAGUE TEAM, NO MATTER WHAT SKILL LEVEL, is still impressive. ESPECIALLY when 13 of them are by the 2nd inning.
  7. I'm not worried personally, but I think that he needs to start to get into his groove. I mean last year he was off to a slow start but I don't remember a 1-2 record. Anyone else notice his fastball at most hits like ~87mph? Oh well, the man is Keith Foulke...he'll be money like he was last year soon enough.
  8. Haha, . But yeah, I like this deal. George would be going after him just so the Yanks didn't have to deal with him.
  9. Guys, Wake is not leaving. Partially because of what Sizzlin said, and because knuckle ball starters are VERY RARE. Think about it in a series. You have fast pitching, then the knuckler throws you off, then back to fast pitching. Not to mention when you have Mantei waiting in your bullpen to hurl a f***ing 95mph fastball past your face right after seeing a knuckleball and waiting back on it. Wake will not be leaving. Unfortunately, it will be Arroyo. Arroyo can come in early relief if Wells f***s things up. Another thing, six man rotations throw pitchers off. That's why, I forget who, said that they hate off days. It gives them another day off on top of the days that they have to wait to pitch again. I mean think about it, it could be a full 6, yes, 6 DAYS before you get another start. Waiting a week isn't good. Look, pitching on short rest isn't good, but if you let your arm get too comfortable you're just asking for trouble.
  10. Don't be a pessimist...it will be an ugly game tomorrow because the O's don't have much pitching...and for us I'm pretty sure it's Wells....oh well, it will be high scoring, but the O's kill us a lot so I dunno what to tihnk. Who knows? Maybe we sweep... Our offense still hasn't gone out yet... f***ing Ramon Vazquez...go back to where you came from. That one hit and now he's stinking it up...0/4 with 3 ground outs and that final painful flyout. WHY THE f*** DIDN'T THEY PINCH HIT AHHHHH.
  11. So what does everybody think of Schilling's return? I think he's done just fine. That first game against the Yankees he had was ugly in terms of his numbers, but he looked like he had everything down. Today against Toronto, he looked excellent. Even though his pitch count went up early, he could have had some more help from his defense *cough MANNY cough*...but whatever, it's fine. You have to give the Jays some credit...they battled off some sick pitches from Schilldawg...including some nice split-fingered fastballs that they fouled off. But from how he looked today, I would expect him to make one hell of an impact in his next outing. Anybody else wanna share their thoughts?
  12. HAHAHAHA. Nice one...but don't take offense to that... Anywho: D-Rays 0 Yankees 9 Bottom 2-----> OUCH...looks like the boss got in Torre's and the players' heads Tigers 2 Orioles 2 Top 3
  13. Doh..
  14. Tampa Bay @ New York 7:05----->Rob Bell vs. Jaret Wright It will be interesting...if the Yankees suck as much as they do, they will lose this game. Probably not though, TB was 0-10 at Yankee Stadium last year. Of course, Jaret Wright could be interesting to watch...with that 8 ERA. Rob Bell is 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA. Who knows? This game could possibly go either way. Detroit @ Baltimore 7:05----->Jason Johnson vs. Eric Bedard This could be a good game...Baltimore probably gets the win though.
  15. Haha, true that. And welcome to the board I guess , where'd you come in from for the game?
  16. I'd be interested... Get him a good pitching coach on a team that can give him run support and he could blossum...he has that potential.
  17. Who knows if he can keep it up, but so far he's done pretty good. He has helped me win some key categories.
  18. I think he lives in Washington state because he likes the Mariners too...right?
  19. 11:05 today, on Patriots Day!! http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/433657.jpg#49 David Bush (0-1, 3.75) vs. http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/121811.jpg#38 Curt Schilling (0-1, 7.94) Let's go Schilldawg...continue our success and let's tie these bastards for second in the East. Dave Bush took the lone loss that Toronto sufferred while we visited them, posting a 5.40 ERA in that game. He gave up 4 hits, 3 earned runs and 2 homeruns in 5 innings pitched. He also pitched in a no decision at Oakland and posted a 3.75 ERA in that game. I'm lookin for a strong outing from Schilling and our new found offense to pound Bush...any takers?
  20. True, but it's just expected that we should be bashing teams like Tampa Bay.
  21. No one's pretending it was a great outing. For a 21 year old pitcher ( who happens to be the second youngest player in the MLB ) who plays for f***ing TAMPA BAY who faced arguably the best lineup in baseball? I'd say that's pretty good...all he needed today was some run support and he could have easily had us. Again, not a GREAT outing, but a pretty good one.
  22. I wouldn't say good bye to AJ Burnett just now...
  23. Haha, well there's one dead Sheffield and 36,000 future inmates. Whatever, it's over and whatever happens from here on out happens...there's no more debating. I think we've heard all sides.
  24. All along with Clement from his days in San Diego, Florida, Chicago and now Boston he has had control problems which causes him problems with the amount of base runners in innings he pitches. Clement is a very good pitcher with very good stuff, but just has to locate it well and with enough effectiveness. If he can do that, I wouldn't want to bat against him. Another thing though is wherever he goes, he gets a lack of run support. Throughout his career he has only had 2 winning seasons, 12-11 in 2002 and 14-12 in 2003. Last year he went 9-13. Run support shouldn't be a problem here in Boston, and the only problem he has to sort out is his location and control. Once those are done, we have a pitcher who will have a much higher winning percentage than just over .500
  25. He's done wonders for my fantasy baseball team, I'll tell ya that...
