    He lost a bet. The bet was that he would pitch 10 straight scoreless innings. He didn't think he would be able to do it, but he did and so they shaved his head. I think it was with one of the catchers. Probably Varitek.

    Sure, you know the possibility is there, but until you're hit you have no idea what it can do to you. I'm not going to bother explaining, because I thought this was basically common sense and very logical.

If you actually watched Clement after he got hit, you would see that he flinched right at the point of his release when pitching. That WOULD account for all of the hung curveballs and all the runs against him. How can you say you know how he reacts to a situation? Don't buy it if you don't want, but goddamn, saying that getting hit in the head isn't an excuse for sucking, then proceeding to call him a pussy is one of the most asinine things I've ever heard.

    That's exactly why we care...we only have 2 others. You can't pitch the same bullpen pitchers day in and day out. You need to be able to rely on your WHOLE bullpen in order to have an effective one. Timlin, Foulke (in non-save situations) and Papelbon are fine right now, and with MDC coming up, I have faith in him as well. I wouldn't have minded seeing Van Buren staying here and sending Seanez down to bring up MDC instead, but that's just how things work. Tavares needs to prove himself. He has temper problems and he's inconsistent. However, what I've seen out of him recently, I think this bullpen as a whole is getting better. The only problem that I have right now is Seanez. He always finds a way to blow something for you. While I think the bullpen is getting better and is a bit more solid than what people are giving it credit for, at the same time there are a lot of questions to be answered and players that need to prove themselves.
