  1. Wake always silences the Yankees' bats. For the most part, that is. All this team needs to do is get the runs across the plate, and Wake will actually look as good as he really is. He's had some nice recent starts. Compliment those with some runs and we have a serious 1-2-3 punch in the top of our rotation.
  2. I thought I'd chime in here. I know ahhchon (not personally, but I've seen him post enough), to know that he would most likely respond like I'm about to. Regardless of whether Bonds used steroids or not, the man can hit a baseball. Sure, steroids increase your chance of hitting a homer via the obvious strength it supplies to you, but one thing it does NOT help you do is see and hit the ball in the first place. ANY professional athlete will tell you that hitting a baseball in the MLB is probably the hardest thing to do. Period. Steroids don't help you make contact with the ball, and they certainly don't help your hand-eye coordination. The fact that Bonds was even able to make contact with the ball as much as he did is a major accomplishment in itself. Bonds is a GREAT ballplayer. Cheater, *******, steroid abuser, whatever...that does not take away from the fact that he's a good hitter. Sure, baseball would be better off if he just left, and he's viewed as a gigantic ******* who doesn't give a damn about anyone, but none of that takes away from his ability to hit. The man can hit whether you like to believe it or not. Also, as far as the argument with seeing the ball better goes (between Rivernator and bosoxgirl34), it really doesn't matter if HGH helps you see the ball better. Well, I suppose to an extent it does, but see what I said above. Hand-eye coordination doesn't get helped. I don't care how well or how bad you see the ball, to even hit the thing is a major accomplishment. Giambi was and still is a great hitter. He can make contact and see the ball off of his bat regardless of how well he sees the ball. And yes, I agree with the statement that Giambi is a disgrace to the Yankees, but like I said, none of the views of these players' personalities takes away from the fact that they are great hitters.
  3. Even though I still consider him a cheater, he did salvage some respect that I have for him by openly admitting it and not pointing any fingers while saying he didn't. That being said, if it turns out that he still is on some sort of steroid, my respect for him will diminish completely. And even though I wouldn't be surprised if he was, as far as my respect goes...innocent until proven guilty.
  4. This was on SC the other day. Really sad/remarkable story with her family and all.
  5. Yeah, I saw this being discussed on PTI and ATH yesterday I think. What planet is this ******* living on?
  6. Tomorrow night, I'm looking forward to see Aaron f***in' Boone against Wake again
  7. Recently, I've pretty much convinced myself that most baseball players are on some type of performance enhancement drug/steroid. I really wouldn't be surprised if it's much more popular than we all think. Steroids and performance enhancers may have unfortunately just become a part of the game now. I hope to God I'm wrong, but I really wouldn't be surprised if I'm right.
  8. Ah! Division rival game! You'll have an awesome time
  9. You're right. Wake may not strike out a lot of people, but we won't have to worry about that until tomorrow night. Schill's on the mound tonight Sox take it tonight. I expect a breakout from the Sox tonight. Hopefully Manny can continue and break out even more with his recent success against his former club and silence the crowd early. GO SOX!
  10. What does that have to do with anything? Arroyo would be in the rotation most likely after Wells sucking it up real bad. Though, I will say, it's nice to be able to have a guy like DiNardo come out of the 'pen for you. Which he would able to do if we still had Arroyo.
  11. Yeah, I agree. I've only seen some pretty disgusting posts of his. Whatever. I agree with what's been said though. I wouldn't be surprised either.
  12. Thanks for the input...
  13. Bruins fans strongly dislike Canadiens fans. Haha, just playin with ya. But yes, the way the Canadiens have played is impressive. However, it's not like they're strangers to performing big upsets...I have many bad memories
  14. Holy s*** guys. I'm way too lazy to read all of this. Damn
  15. I thought it would be better to hear everyone's voice in this, considering it's a whole league issue. I was PM'd by BoSox34, the content of which included an apology for being dumb, and a promise to stay active and participate well. The PM: Considering the fact that he did once try to screw up the league, I'm leaning towards keeping him locked. There is now a cash prize for a lot of money to go along with the custom user title, and after what he did I just don't think he deserves a spot back in the league. What are all of your thoughts?
  16. Hahahahaahaahaa. Well, Pedro is damn good at his motion because it's, well, his motion.
  17. If they have a shot at Lendale White, they better pick him.
  18. Welcome aboard.
  19. Welcome to Talk Sox.
  20. Neither do I. That's why I put 4 wins Mainly because each of the 5 starters for the Sox are slated to face the Yanks. I figure out of our number 5 starter and number 4, we can get one of those wins to go along with the 3 wins from Schill, Wake and Beckett
  21. What he said. Dana Keicker, it's not exactly the best way to get off on the right foot with people by bashing the most generous man here. You've been here for a very short time and you don't know who's who yet. Bashing SFOC has been the demise of previous posters' existance on this site. I recommend you think before you post something.
  22. Maybe we should be a little more patient, seeing as he doesn't play every day
  23. They're screwed? They are anything but screwed. It is foolish to eliminate them as a threat down the stretch. That lineup from 1-9 can hit. Granted, there are a few easier guys to get out, but overall that lineup can be deadly. Take a look at the Cards from '04. All bat with 1 good pitcher (Morris, at the time) and a few decent ones. This isn't to say I'm exactly comparing the two teams, but with a lineup as deadly as the Blue Jays, it would be foolish to say that they are "screwed."
  24. Hello. I remember you.
