  1. Not 3B. They gave up Soriano, and looking at what's been happening, I don't think that was a "steal."
  2. The sarcasm's not funny. You're trying too hard.
  3. Get Nixon out of the 5 hole and stick Lowell there. Now.
  4. Weird thing is, Abreu may be nicer to the Yanks with his demand for cash. He seems like he's going to love it in New York.
  5. When a problem comes along, you must whip it!
  6. Only if it lands us an arm like Chris Young. It really depends on what we get in return. If Lugo comes, well, there's a #2 hitter as well.
  7. Clement was moved to the 60 Day DL to make room for Corey on the 40 man roster.
  8. That's irrelevant. They'll still play him because he's Craig friggin' Biggio and what he means to the Houston Astros.
  9. That being said, someone on BBTN said that the Sox are in a big 3-4 team deal and Lowell was one of the focuses of discussion. He also said that we could be shipping off someone else and getting someone like Linebrink, and a good possibility of Chris Young, in return. If we can get Chris Young by moving Lowell, I'm doing it.
  10. It would have to be a bigger deal than with just the Astros. Biggio isn't going anywhere, and I don't think the Astros would want to move Biggio to the OF.
  11. To be quite honest, I wish the Red Sox could put together a lineup like that.
  12. Damn. With all the rumors going on I completely forgot that the Yankees had Dotel.
  13. Well, I'm too lazy to go through this, but I'm pissed that the Phillies basically gave these 2 players away. That said, I understand it was a salary dump, but anyone who thinks that Abreu isn't an upgrade over Williams/Guiel in RF is on a different planet. Even if the Yankees gave up Philip Hughes in this deal it wouldn't make me feel any better while watching Abreu drive in runs against us.
  14. Sunday Night Baseball, bitches. Let's hope it's like that Atlanta game that sparked that helped get our offense moving along with that 12 game win streak.
  15. Well, in that case, you both made damn good deals. I think you only helped his team though. But at the same time you made yourself better.
  16. Lugo and Gonzo playing at the same time on the same team? Yes please.
  17. a) If trading a Hansen, Delcarmen or Pedroia (not both, and not Lester, Paps or Ellsbury) lands us someone to make us the favorites to win the world series this year and next, I'm pumped. Before Gonzo was signed, I thought Cora could fill the void at SS quite nicely. Obviously, now I'd much rather have Gonzo there, but Cora used to be an everyday 2B out in LA. I wouldn't mind seeing him as an everyday player here. I love the guy. And why not seeing WMP everyday? We traded Bronson for him, now let's see what we got. Besides, he's never going to get better without experience, and WMP is a guy that I can endure watching if he strikes out half the time while producing game winning hits on the other end. He's only going to get better.
  18. Yeah, you made a good trade. Ryan Howard that's exactly why Konerko was a throw-in piece of that trade. Who's his utility?
  19. Yeah, I think you got the better end of that deal as well. But it doesn't matter how fair the trade was, as long as in the end you both get what you need. He could look at the trade and say Konerko was expendable because he had a good backup, and obviously Guillen was because he received Tejada. He could have just been looking to upgrade his SS, and nothing more. Even though Konerko is a big thing to let go of, his new 1B could be just as good if not better. Who's his 1B now?
