  1. HAHAHAAHA I used to use the Real Men of Genius vids all the time for my mojo when I started game threads.
  2. I don't really understand how people see that as a cock. I mean, if you really want to stretch your imagination, sure, but it looks pretty much like a sword to me. Not to mention that tattoo probably hurt like a f***ing bitch.
  3. You did. I was about to quote you and ask you directly if you were down for it, but I saw you were offline so I just made it a general question.
  4. I love Brock Lesnar. Back when I went through the WWE-crazed stage of my life, I enjoyed watching him beat the s*** out of anyone who came in his way. I knew it was all fake, but there was something about his sheer strength and intimidating presence that told me he could beat the s*** out of any one of those wrestlers if the sport suddenly stopped being scripted. Then he tried out for the Minnesota Vikings and got into fights with the D-linemen if I remember correctly. He's ridiculous. And that sword tattoo is awesome. http://www.sportsbettingindex.net/sports_betting_tips/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/brock-lesnar.jpg
  5. So what's the consensus on CAPS MOJO tonight? It was some fun when it was going on last year at some point. Once the game starts, everyone has to type in CAPS until the Red Sox score their first run. Which, hopefully, shouldn't take too long tonight.
  6. Not to hijack the thread, but I'm a bio major at BC. Interesting.
  7. As you said, it's really just an unwritten rule that gets mistakenly broken every now and then. Not a big deal. A member will start a gamethread and continue to do so until the Sox lose. It could be as long as one game or a 15-game winning streak. If the Sox are coming off a win and the poster who started the gamethread for that game does not start it in time for the night's game, anyone can start it. We normally give until about 10 minutes before game time before someone else can jump in or the correct member yells last minute "HOLD ON A SEC I'M HERE TO START IT!" (lol, that's been me a few times.) If said member never shows up, whoever starts the thread that night now holds the mojo. For example, even though Dutchy started it last night (which is not a problem Dutchy, lol, don't sweat it), we won, and he would continue with it. HighMileage now, even though he interrupted Dutchy, must now start tomorrow's game thread if the Sox win. And, seeing how he's a Royals fan, I hope he starts the next three threads too. That would be a little ironic. After a loss, it's free. Anyone can start it, even newbies if they'd like. We just ask that the game thread not be started until a reasonable time on gameday, so we can continue discussing about the most recent game before gametime. Not that complex, just a little tradition that kind of popped up back in 2004 I think to have some fun. We know where that got us! Anyway, back to the game thread.
  8. lol, how the hell can a Bruins fan of our age POSSIBLY be spoiled? The Bruins had a team capable of winning the cup, and they didn't. Failure. He's spoiled because he's upset that Boston, who hasn't won a cup since 1972, had one of the best teams in hockey last year, was the 1st seed in the Eastern Conference, and lost in the 2nd round to the Carolina f***in' Hurricanes? Doesn't sound spoiled to me. It's great they finished 1st and took out the Habs... that's all microscopic compared to what the Bruins should have accomplished.
  9. Tough game. Win it. Game Info: Date: Friday, July 3rd, 2009 Teams: Seattle Mariners (40-38) @ Boston Red Sox (48-30) First Pitch: 7:10pm EST Venue: Fenway Park, Boston, Massachusetts TV: NESN Starting Pitchers: http://i.cdn.turner.com/si/.e1d/img/4.0/global/baseball/mlb/players/7487.jpghttp://bellsouthpwp.net/c/h/chinigor/TALKSOX/VS.GIFhttp://i.cdn.turner.com/si/.e1d/img/4.0/global/baseball/mlb/players/4906.jpg http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/sea.gif#34 Felix Hernandez (8-3, 2.54) http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/bos.gif#49 Tim Wakefield (10-3, 4.18) Mojo of the day: Wakefield vs. King Felix? You know what that means... http://themodernthings.files.wordpress.com/2009/01/david-goliath.jpg REVERSE LOCK MOJO!
  10. Why would they have needed to do that in '03?
  11. They may not have been happy, but I'm sure they're very proud. You're carrying on a pretty honorable tradition in your family, and that shouldn't be overlooked at all. Again, thanks for your service.
  12. You live in Newton, MA? Cool. I just moved from there to Needham at the beginning of last summer. Good thing I didn't go to the bank yesterday... lol. Sorry, back to the topic at hand.
  13. This is why I hate when people say the L column is all that matters. When you're 2 down in the L column but 3 down in the W column, you HAVE to win the extra game to tie the leading team. 2 down in the L column does not equate to 2 down in the standings, as some of our Yankee fan friends love to insinuate. Hold off the Yanks, please.
  14. 5 strikeouts for Bay? Holy s***.
  15. I like Federer a lot, but if Roddick beats Murray I'm going to have to root for Roddick.
  16. At least Beckett was able to get through 6 and the bullpen shouldn't be taxed as badly as it could have been.
