  1. Most likely. But the Saints, IMO, will make the superbowl, and knowing the motive that they're playing with...they're going to be damn hard to beat if they go to Miami this season. I'm just happy that the superbowl isn't in New Orleans. Imagine if the Saints went to the superbowl this year and played in front of all their fans. You could pencil them in for superbowl champs...
  2. Brady vs. Manning would be cool, but if the Patriots beat the Chargers I don't see how they can't be favorites to win the superbowl.
  3. f*** THE GATORS, GO BUCKEYES!
  4. Well, Belichick is 7-2 against teams with an MVP on their team. He's beaten Kurt Warner in Superbowl XXXVI of Warner's MVP year, Peyton Manning 4 times (twice in regular season, twice in post-season of his MVP years) and McNair twice (once in regular season, once in post-season in his MVP year). Tomlinson is a whole different story, I know, but you better believe that the Pats will not be outcoached this game. If the Pats are going to win, they better listen and do EXACTLY what Belichick tells them to do. LT was held under 100 yards rushing 4 times this year against the Titans, 49ers, Ravens, and Steelers. Now, if there's another defense out there that can figure out how to stop Tomlinson, it's a Belichick defense. The only problem is that LT found success against the Pats in the past. I hope Bill doesn't fall asleep on the sidelines this weekend because he's going to have a long, long week with a few sleepless nights. Any word on Harrison? I hope he's able to play, considering the fact that we all know Harrison would love to stick it Schottenheimer and the Chargers in Qualcomm Stadium. He still hasn't gotten over the fact that they cut him so simply. But hey, he can't complain, I guess. I love it when I see Rodney playing with a motive, it lights a fire in his ass and he'll hit someone just as hard as Merriman will this weekend.
  5. Breslow flashed signs of brilliance last year; I hope he gets the opportunity to compete for a spot.
  6. The difference between the Bonds fiasco and a possible Palmeiro fiasco is that if he's at Fenway, he won't just have them thrown at him, he'll be f***ing stabbed with one of them by some crazy ass fan.
  7. NFL Playoff Game Dates 1/13 - 1/14, 2007 Date & Time Favorite .................... Spread ....................... 8. Congrats on that fantasy league win, ORS. LT picked quite a week to start sucking (aka, not scoring any TDs)
  9. Yeah, I was just thinking the game would remain at most 6 points apart. I was dead wrong. I didn't expect the Colts to lose, just that LJ would run enough to keep the game close enough.
  10. Watch your mouth.
  11. Well, as long as the booing and the hostility continues, it's not going to happen. If I were A-Rod and I got a curtain call at some point this season for a walk off or something, I'd go to the top of the dugout and flip off all the fans. They deserve it.
  12. Keep in mind that he has 50,000 New Yorkers booing him almost every night when he should have their support. They had a short leash with him to begin with. If the guy you're booing is Mark Blowhorn, it's different. But when you have a guy like A-Rod who's just waiting to explode out of that funk, you support him. And when he finally does, I pray he doesn't do it to us.
  13. Any rational fan would want A-Rod's talent on their team. If he were our shortstop I'd s*** myself.
  14. Hey, I'd take him...
  15. I know. Looking back on it, it's weird to think that in 2005 if Foulke hadn't blown ONE of those early season saves and actually closed it out, we would have won the AL East.
  16. Is that guy even reliable?
  17. If Papelbon is a better closer than starter, than why move him? My best guess would be for efficiency, since good starters are more valuable. Am I missing something?
  18. Eh, it depends on who replaces him. I think the Dolphins can do better than Nick Saban anyway. He's a great college coach, but a decent NFL coach. He's kind of like Pete Carroll.
  19. Actually, I think he wants to raise his family in a more college-oriented town. It's not a bad thing. He's going to have fun, his family will have a good time, he got a nice salary, and he's going to be happy. Why not make the move?
  20. Even with Pettite, that rotation has 2 unreliable (as it looks right now, and could end up) starting pitchers in Igawa and Pavano. Until Pavano grows a cock and balls, he's unreliable. And until Igawa proves himself, he's not necessarily unreliable, but rather unproven. He could also end up being unreliable. Matsuzaka's a different story because he has 20x the talent that Igawa does. What do you do if Pavano bombs and Igawa is inconsistent and a mediocre starter AT BEST? Those two scenarios are quite likely.
  21. Yeah, I'm not saying NYC is worse or anything, I'm just saying that Boston suits me just fine. I don't need everything that NYC throws at you. I love cities, and if I lived in NYC I'd be happy to live there. It's just that I'm fine with Boston and all the extra stuff that NYC has, I just don't need or care about.
  22. No it's not that I feel that his location should have an impact on the teams he chooses to root for, I just think it's weird that he roots for two Boston teams and a New York team, given the basically inherent rivalry between the two cities with and beyond sports.
