  2. yeszir?????
  3. It is way too early to begin that discussion.
  4. Yeah Clemens has been known to change his mind often, so I wouldn't surprised if he went to New York or Boston depending on who the catcher is. I still think he wants to stay close to Texas. If I were the Rangers I would go all out in trying to get him to sign there.
  5. 97. I don't know just a random number. They still have Dontrelle Willis and Miguel Cabrera which is more than what other teams such as the Rockies and Pirates have. I don't think they'll be the worst team in the majors.
  6. If we wanted to improve our chances of getting Clemens, we should definitely sign Ausmus to be our backup catcher. Clemens has said in the past that Ausmus is the only catcher he wants to work with. He could be Clemens' personal catcher and would therefore be the source of Varitek's day off. Ausmus is a Connecticut native and I believe I heard somewhere that he grew up a Red Sox fan. This is all of course depending on what Clemens wants to do. I still expect him to retire, or wait until May 1 to see if the Astros are still interested in signing him.
  7. He refused a trade to Philadelphia, I don't remember him saying he would go wherever. He seems to have a preference to the West Coast.
  8. It's got to be Bush. Every team looks to have problems at the RB situation that is up there. Jets have the uncertainty of Curtis Martin. Dominick Davis is an average back at best for Houston. Ahman Green and Deuce McAllister have had serious injuries this season and they could always trade one of them if they draft Bush.

  10. Eh, all right give me some time.
  11. Back to defend my crown. Good thing I got home in time. These are all straight picks. This really wasn't a good week to do it. All s***** games. I realized I had the same picks as One Red Seat so I picked the Jets (shudders). 12/11 1:00 ET At Carolina...................Tampa Bay 12/11 1:00 ET New England................At Buffalo 12/11 1:00 ET At Minnesota................St. Louis 12/11 1:00 ET At Pittsburgh................Chicago 12/11 1:00 ET Oakland.......................At NY Jets 12/11 1:00 ET Indianapolis.................At Jacksonville 12/11 1:00 ET At Tennessee...............Houston 12/11 1:00 ET At Cincinnati.................Cleveland 12/11 4:05 ET Washington..................At Arizona 12/11 4:05 ET NY Giants.....................At Philadelphia 12/11 4:05 ET At Seattle.....................San Francisco 12/11 4:15 ET At San Diego................Miami 12/11 4:15 ET At Denver.....................Baltimore 12/11 4:15 ET At Dallas......................Kansas City 12/11 8:35 ET At Green Bay................Detroit 12/12 9:05 ET At Atlanta....................New Orleans MNF Score Total: 31
  12. Hanukkah in Theo's case.
  13. It's more than Millar's on field abilities in 2004 and 2005 which made me dislike him. It's the fact that he was a very obnoxious man. Always trying to be the spokesman of the team. Never refusing to do an interview. It just got to the point where we saw his face too much and all he kept doing was talking and was never backing it up with production on the field. You guys name a few rare instances but you have to look at the big picture.
  14. Erstad has a limited no trade clause meaning he can block a trade to a list of 4 teams. The Red Sox are on that list.
  15. A newbie with 295 posts, that's a new one. I think you were in the sim league.
  16. Oh definitely worth talking about, but I know certain people are going to be like let's trade Youkilis, Clement and Marte for him or something like that.
  17. Don't get any ideas guys. They're not trading him within the division if the unlikely possibility occurs that he does get traded.
  18. The trade is now official. http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/press_releases/press_release.jsp?ymd=20051207&content_id=1278559&vkey=pr_bos&fext=.jsp&c_id=bos
  19. Well all those teams clearly didn't want their players and they didn't want to take the risk that the player would accept arbitration and they would be stuck with them without wanting to be. I know that happened last year with the Phillies and Polanco, and I think there was 1 other situation.
  20. Dan Kolb was traded back to Milwaukee today in exchange for Wes Obermueller. I hope he resurrect his career back in Milwaukee because he looked like he was on the verge of a promising career as the Brewers closer. He will probably start as a setup man for them.
  21. In the Globe article Bill Lajoie said that the team can't afford to have more than one reliever who is a 1 hitter pitcher which they already have in Bradford who is under contract for this year. I expect to see Myers sign with the Yankees.
  22. Red Sox offered arbitration to Johnny Damon, Tony Graffanino and Bill Mueller, while declining arbitration to Matt Mantei, Kevin Millar, Mike Myers and John Olerud. This means that the latter 4 are now almost assured of not returning with the Red Sox as they can not sign with the Red Sox until May 1. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/
  23. Home? New York? I don't see how that makes sense.
  24. Players haven't passed their physicals yet so it's not quite official.
