Thomas' dunk was definitely not even close to offensive interference (coming from someone who had a large stake on Baylor winning that game). I thought it was at first but all replays showed definitively that the ball never was interfered with, he just tried to slam it hard, and fumbled it a bit, and it rattled off the front and back rims because he was trying to slam it way harder than he needed to.

Unreal win today. The atmosphere at the Garden was awful though. Letting Flames fans run through a GO FLAMES GO chant for a full period is unacceptable. The fans need to step up, imo. And I don't want to say Krejci is stepping up, because he's having a BETTER year than last year and he's probably been one of our most consistent players all year long. He's playing better defensively. He's not getting the points he was because Ryder is a f***ing (for lack of a better term) homo, and Wheeler is still the same inconsistent younggin. He's not a first line center, but having him and Savard in the hole for the next couple of years puts us in a terrific position providing Savard isn't done for his career after the hit heard round the world.

The people who loved the shred signing are the ones complaining about it the most these days. Perhaps I don't care as much because I never had very high expectations for him in the first place.

I wouldn't say Ference is "awful"...he's a decent 4/5th defender who will be making way above what his market value should be. If it was 1.75 mil, fine, 1.5 would have been great, but 2 and a quarter is absurd for a guy of his level. I did find it odd though seeing a stat last night that the B's are like 6-13-5 (not 100% sure that's it, but something in that neighborhood) or something ridiculous like that without Ference in the lineup. I gotta say, that's most likely coincidence, because he's definitely not that valuable, to the point where being 27-14-7 with him in makes no sense for him to have that big of an impact on our team.

Mazzulla isn't a slouch. WV plays very good defense and still has their 3 main guys (Ebanks, Butler, and Jones). They're decently experienced and still have a very good coach sitting there in Huggins. They put 77 on Morgan State and 68 on Missouri, a pretty good defensive team. It hurts, but not as much as it looks like it does on the surface. They're going really need to buckle down at the free throw line now though.

Kansas losing saved my bracket. I was the only one who had them losing in round 2. Round 1 I had 2 e8 teams out and 1 f4 team out (GTown). Kansas losing put me back in the game.

I have been laying back just because I had a bunch on a bracket that turned out awful, but I did put 25 bucks on WV to win the tourney on 20:1 odds, so hopefully that turns out nice. I'll really only be making bets from here on out if I see a line that is love at first sight, thanks to my bracket.

The Mueller walk off homer vs. Mo has to be up there. I think it was the same game Karim Garcia attacked a guy in the bullpen? Maybe the same game as A-Rod vs Tek too?

msu: You keep dwelling on these near losses to Kentucky. The committee doesn't look at near losses. A loss by 1 in OT is the same as a loss by 50. They were a bubble team last year, got hot as hell at the end of the year, won the tournament (IIRC), and lost first round to UW. The few days off between the end of conference tourneys and NCAA tourney pretty much halt all the momentum any team has and it's pretty much a level playing field. And I think the committee did a good job this year in looking at a body of work as a whole and not putting any more importance over one part of the season than another.

I did forget to add in the conference tournaments, but still, I think you definitely need to look at the entire body of work, and not just a few games at the end of the year.

MSU didn't have a tournament resume. Plain and simple. -They played three nonconference road games (2-1, one win was over a tourney team - Houston, who barely squeaked in by winning their conference) -3-6 vs. tournament teams (beat Houston, Old Dominion, and Vandy). -Their two signature games were losses to Kentucky. They had no signature wins. That is definitely not a tournament team there. Florida played a much better nonconference schedule, and was 3-4 vs tourney teams (beat FSU, Mich. State, and Tennessee - all at-large bids).

I've tweaked mine to Gtown, Cuse, WV, and Duke, with WV beating Cuse in the NC. I liked Louisville at first, but that was simply a shot in the dark, improbable pick.

My tentative final four is set with Georgetown, Syracuse, West Virginia, and Louisville. I don't like having four Big East teams at all, though.

MSU has only 2 top 50 wins and 15 of their 23 are against teams with a sub 100 RPI. Sorry, but I don't think they're a tourney team.
