  1. My god does the Hawks athleticism gives the C's fits
  2. Meant to type Wade dunks it, I apparently didn't feel like typing "Wade" though. edit: ......obviously........ edit2: no reason for the Celtics to win this game. rondo may have played one of his best games in a celtics uniform.
  3. This game is retarded: Tie game, C's ball, inbound to Ray, tries to put it on the floor, Wade dunks it with .6 left C's inbounding, alleyoop to Rondo is good. Overtime. Holy f***.
  4. For anyone watching tonight, I haven't seen the Celtics get beaten on the boards this bad in a long long time... fortunately the game is tied.
  5. I've always liked Lester, I used to follow him closely throughout college. He was talented enough to play at UNC, but always had awful personal issues bringing him down. It looked like he had everything cleaned up and was headed in the right direction, and was playing pretty well in his limited looks. I hope we see him back and he can put it all together here and turn into an effective bench player.
  6. pats over eagles chalk me up to a homer if you'd like...blast away.
  7. Why is this thread so big?
  8. Iverson is by no means a great defender. He always gambled too much for steals and got burned because of it. He's so physically small that he was never able to be an elite man defender.
  9. It's not that there's less talent these days. It's that there are so many teams that there's more bad teams and the better players are much more spread out. More teams means more parity and less long standing rivalries. It's really that simple.
  10. Been there, done that. So glad I'm years removed from tenth grade English.
  11. It's not retarded to say that Welker is better than Moss. I personally think Moss is better, but I think it's a lot closer than you're leading it on to be. Welker was misused in Miami and is blossoming here in new England. It really isn't fair to compare them to one another because they are completely different players who excel at two completely different things. Welker has the best hands I've ever seen and is the best in the NFL at reading defensive blitzing and coverage and knowing when to break it off and where to break it off to. He also will always dive ahead for the extra two yards whereas Moss always goes down. Now Moss is a deep route runner with unreal speed and athleticism and can outjump and outrun double coverages. Both have amazing qualities in their own right, and are two completely different receivers. But to say that it's retarded to put Moss and Welker in the same sentence is inane.
  12. Disagree with you guys. He was awful when he was seeing time sparingly but since Daniels went down he's been playing decent ball. Still the goofy turnover prone ball, but he's been playing a lot better recently. I hate TA as much as the next guy but there's no denying that he's been playing better.
  13. Agree here. Rice is far and away the breakout player of the year. It's not close either.
  14. Everyone wrote Romo and the Dallas offense this year because TO was leaving. But instead he made a star out of Miles Austin and quietly put up a very very solid year when expected to do nothing.
  15. Better now than later. Get healthy for April, i couldn't care less about games in Dec/Jan.
  16. top 5 Players of the year. 1.Chris johnson 2.Drew Brees 3.Peyton Manning 4. Phillip Rivers 5. Mojo Drew Comeback player of the year 1. Benson/Williams/Brady Defensive players of the year. 1.Allen 2.Willis 3.Reed 4. Revis 5. Harris Top 5 Rookies of the year 1.Moreno 2.Orakpo 3. Davis 4. Maclin 5. Sanchise Coach of the Year Caldwell, no question about it MVP: Going by MOST VALUABLE, you have to go with Vince Young, considering the turnaround from when he stepped in. But he didnt play a full year, so I think Manning wins this. Best Player: Chris Johnson, is there any question? Under the radar player of the year: Tony Romo. Everyone has been saying how bad he is but he's quietly putting together a solid year Best player you never heard of: Gary Guyton. Guy is a rock for the Pats at MLB. Plays pretty much every snap, is a rock in coverage, and is one of the quickest LBs in the NFL. He doesn't make the tackles, get the picks or the sacks, but he's a very overlooked player who even Pats fans are quick to dismiss. Best Team: Saints. For all the Colts being undefeated talk, they're still not as dangerous as the Saints can be when they're on. Most overlooked team(s): Pats and Titans. The Pats defense has been much better recently and you can honestly never count belichick, brady, and co out in the playoffs. The Titans have been real impressive since getting Young back. Johnson could be the best back int he NFL, and the defense is in a really nice groove right now.
  17. Thomas played his best game of the year the other night vs. Ottawa. Hopefully he can continue so I can complain less about him playing more than Rask.
  18. Which brings me back to my media literacy point. You can't take everything the media says and take it as truth.
  19. So you're going to label him a bust before you see how he develops and what he can turn into with time, coaching, and hopefully getting more talent around him?
  20. Jonny Flynn is 20 years old. Jonny Flynn played 2 years of college. Jonny Flynn is not a freak like LeBron James. Great college players do not always transfer over to the NBA (see: Michael Beasley). The Wolves are awful anyways, they won't smell the better side of .500 anytime soon, so it's not like his supposed underachievement is hampering the entire team and barring them from something special. And I have no idea how much he was hyped in Minnesota? I have 2 buddies who go to UM who turned into Wolves fans when they went up there. They heard all the hype too, but they're not disappointed in his play at all. They think he's been everything a 20 year old PG who needs to develop his shooting and defense on a bad team should be. There's a difference between listening to everything the media says and taking it as "the word", and having real expectations. It's called media literacy.
  21. My post wasn't confrontational or dismissive at all. Emmz said something stupid about Jonny Flynn, so I responded to it. There was literally no need for you to make that post whatsoever.
  22. Yeah, lets call a 20 year old kid who had 2 years of college experience and is putting up 14 a game a bust after 26 games.
  23. Tim Thomas sucks. My lord.
