  1. i hear lester is a stud, but I dont know much about him.. we have a lot of farm hands for the future and a first place team. they have nomo in the minors-getting rocked. they also have A-f***, sheff, and randy johnson-who's the biggest *******?? , I'd say it must suck to be yankee fan these days!!
  2. what on earth would make you think that about miller??
  3. disappointing in underachieving expectations.. he's fit right in then.
  4. manny also didnt just start preforming after he said he wanted out... um, I believe he was leading the AL in home runs and had 90+ rbi's at that time. very lame comparison, you'll have to come up with something better than that.
  5. RJ just looks old, and hitters are catching up to him, as well. He is still good, very good, but he has given up an extraordinary amount of home runs.. the devil rays clobbered him, too...that isnt the RJ they signed, and that is only going to happen more often. I cant say I am unhappy about it... and certainly am not initimated at all that we'll be facing the big ugly unit in september. In the words of dumbya our prez--bring 'em on.
  6. from the post. JASON SHOWS CLEAN STREAK By GEORGE KING -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JASON GIAMBI Email Archives Print Reprint August 3, 2005 -- CLEVELAND — According to multiple sources Jason Giambi's 14 July home runs weren't the product of performance enhancing drugs. While eyebrows were raised over Giambi's stellar July since he entered the month with five homers, he hasn't failed a drug test so therefore he isn't in the appeal/arbitration situation that Rafael Palmeiro was in before being suspended for 10 games Monday. Nor has the big July led to MLB putting Giambi through additional testing. "Not at all," Giambi said yesterday at Jacobs Field when asked if he had been tested more in light of his monster July, when he was the first Yankee to hit 14 homers in a month since Mickey Mantle in July 1961. The Yankees have been tested three times since reporting to Tampa for spring training. Once during spring training, again in April and last week. "I have gone through my thing," Giambi said when asked if he has been tested. There is no limit to the amount of times a player can be tested but he has to be tested at least once. Since his bout with an intestinal parasite last year and the discovery of a benign pituitary tumor, Giambi is constantly having blood work done by doctors and MLB has access to those tests. Giambi, who was linked to steroid use when his BALCO grand jury was leaked to the San Francisco Chronicle last December, says he isn't bothered by the suspicions that his July had help. "I really don't care," said Giambi, who hit .355 (27-for-76) for the month, upped his average to .286. "If anybody wants to shortchange it, that's there problem not mine." In order for a player to undergo additional testing other than the random tests when his team is tested, the HPAC Committee would have to approve it. HPAC is a four-man group represented by the Players Association, MLB and one doctor from each side. Giambi refused to get into specifics about Palmeiro's suspension. "I was shocked as anybody, but I don't know all the facts so I can't comment," Giambi said. "Raffy is a good guy and has been supportive of me. My heart goes out to him and his family." Gary Sheffield and Mike Mussina say it's time for MLB and the Players Association to come up with a list of what is safe to take and what isn't. Currently there is a list of what's allowed and not allowed, but since it deals with ingredients on the back of supplements or vitamins packages it can be confusing. "We are not experts in this stuff, put it in the experts' hand," said Sheffield, who also testified in the BALCO case. "Give us one choice to buy it and one place. That's how you cut it out; you cut out all the excuses and all the 'I don't know what I was taking.' "
  7. swinging isnt his problem, it's hitting. 3 starts then purgatory.
  8. ron guidry is available.
  9. in all seriousness, al lieter has turned out as predicted to be a bust. How come he did well against us? He is awful again like in florida... Oil can is available I hear.
  10. a-f*** is a fruit, maybe they can send him.
  11. sounds like a decent plan.. I'll go with that... I suppose given last year he deserves an at-bat before being jettisoned into obscurity (where he belongs
  12. why would the yankees all of sudden be able to sweep tampa, they have been able to beat them at all this season. mussina, johnson, pray for rain isnt my idea of confidence.
  13. thats a ridiciulous rule and hopefully one that will ignorned by the sox. if so, the stikeiouts with men on which are a given will quickly and permentatly resolve this unusual debte. the guy just is s***** player with no skill.but I'm sure a very nice guy. there is another unwritten rule....if you suck you dont play.
  14. this isnt really a discussion any more, we have a new second baseman thank God..there arent any stats to manipulate a case for bellhorn..he is awful one way or another. and hopefully he wont ever be in at second again for the sox. later mark.. it's strike three for your career here at boston.
  15. nomo vs. schilling LOL
  16. I dont understand a post in the thread within the thread with a link to the thread. you got me seeing double, not red.
  17. he could be bat boy...though.. he knows the game...and the players it would be a smooth transition.. and soxie could still have him around. PS: I love gabe in the nine hole, seeing damon and kapler on the base paths with the guns coming up...priceless.
  18. soxie you have an amzing library of pitcures. i dont feel much like yankee bashing today, I hate them too much to even bother. king of the jungle not yet, but this is going to be typical foot race to the finish line. The yankees are more vulnerable than usual so we have a good chance of finishing first (that sounded pretty objective for me anyway). Mo is amazing, but when you have a bullpen with alan and starting roation du jour inclduing the not be to confused with cy young hideo nomo, I think it is hard to imagine doing much betterdown the stretch. Oh okay. the yankees suck.
  19. why would he be able to buzz a fastball by DO, when he couldnt buzz a fastball by anyone else in the game. But it is true he does fit in to the staff as it looks now quite nicely. Pitching: S. Henn: 11.12 ERA R. Johnson: 4.11 ERA K. Brown: 6.50 ERA J. Wright: 9.15 ERA C. Pavano: 4.77 ERA A. Embree: 7.82 ERA
  20. i think we have more home games remaining than anyone else so that might help too.
  21. the yankees should re name themsleves the new york peaches when they play tampa.
  22. the yankees have alan embreera...case closed.
  23. embr-era sucks and will always suck, yankee fans will learn to hate him, and he will be gone soon eneough. good luck with him, you can have him..
  24. okay then...we have a closer and we have manny, and thats fine with me!
  25. s***...matsui leads off the 11th with a TRIPLE. WELL, f*** THE YANKEES. nothing can spoil a win like this one.
