  1. No one ever disputed he was a good hitter. He's just a poor defender.
  2. f*** Ellsbury. I'll drive him to Shea, and pick up Beltran.
  3. Nice job, I expected nothing more from you.
  4. I figured someone would say that. I saw the catch, and still hit reply. Hey, I saw David Ortiz make a sick play against the Phillies. That erases a season of bad defense.
  5. :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: It's amazing how your are impressed with a CF who has been playing bad defense, and has a below average OPS for the position (.761), but hate a RF who has been well above average positionally wise, and plays great defense. Oh, but :lol:
  6. No, they got Lee so they could fortify their starting rotation in order to make the playoffs. The Angels did the same thing. The Angels and Phillies rotations were both pretty weak at the back.
  7. When does the match start?
  8. I bet $134 on Nadal to win his first round matchup today. -1500 favorite. What are the chances he gets upset?
  9. IF you want to get tickets at face value, your best best is to go to Fenway 6 hours before the game and wait at the ticket booth. I got Grandstand seats for $44. If I were the people in line behind us, I could have gotten Monster seats for $90.
  10. He's not a horrible choice, but I would rather get a guy who got on base at a higher clip. He's been slipping since his 1.004 2006 OPS season, and will be 36 in 2010. The Red Sox have the money to get Holliday, but I'd rather save the cash and go after Mauer.
  11. Dye is getting up there in years.
  12. World Series or bust.
  13. Not this year. When did I accuse you of taking a swipe at Drew? You opined after Spudboy's comment about, "NOW THERE'S A RF WORTH HIS SALARY." That was an obvious swipe at Drew, but when you look at that statistics, the logical conclusion to reach is that Drew has been worth his salary, and then some. The fact that he makes $14 million, makes his feat even more impressive.
  14. Of course Markakis is worth his money, but JD Drew has been as well.
  15. It's kind of ironic to take a swipe at Drew with a player who is performing worse than him this year. Drew has been worth his money this year.
  16. Drew's got a .30 point OPS on Markakis. :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
  17. Which would probably result in feeble pop-ups, or routine fly-balls. Ellsbury has very little power. Even if it were true, how much HR's would Kalish hit in Yankee Stadium at his peak? 30?
  18. Impossible. Ellsbury doesn't hit the ball in the air enough, and when he does, it doesn't go very far.
  19. Steinbrenner can always count on Bloomberg to pony up the $60 million for Martinez.
  20. The title is an oxymoron. As for how it rates, is Martinez really worse than Penny?
