  1. New Palmerio commerical "I take batting pratice" "I take ground balls" "I take Steriods" BTW, How good does Jose Canseco feel today?
  2. C'mon man, that's just to painful to add all those players into the mix
  3. Peter Gammons said so on ESPN News, that the Yankees failure to adress the bullpen will hurt their chances to win in September/October. But the greatest sportswriter in the history of baseball is a Red Sux fan, right? So his opinion means nothing to you. An idiot who had his brains scooped out, could realize that Nomo, Embree, and Small won't adress the bullpen issue or the starting rotation.
  4. This is where stats are irrevelant 1. Schilling vs Johnson EDGE Johnson 2. Wells vs Mussina EDGE Wells 3. Clement vs Pavano EDGE Clement 4. Arroyo vs Brown? EDGE Arroyo 5. Wakefield vs Wright? EDGE Wakefield Closer Foulke vs Rivera EDGE Mo Timlin vs Gordon EDGE Timlin Myers vs Embree EDGE Myers Delcarmen vs Sturtze EDGE Delcarmen Bradford vs ??? EDGE Bradford
  5. They SHOULD be in AA ball for the rest of the year, then get a full year in Pawtucket in '06. They have no reason to be rushed to the bigs.
  6. Ouch, he is going to hear it for the rest of his career. HAHA, I will be right there in Tampa, throwing a syringe at him, during his games.
  7. Embree vs Ortiz? I'm not going to dignify that with a response. As for "could have lost", the Yankees could have and should have been swept by the Angels, but could of, should of, would of. The point is the Red Sox won 2 out of 3 vs the D-Rays, and the Yankees did so against the Angels. While it's nice to ponder, what if this happened instead, it's pointless.
  8. Ha, this is funny. No team is the king of the jungle, no team is a minor deity. The Red Sox are a good team, but they have pitching questions, the Yankees can be a good team, but they have to pray Randy Johnson is dominant the rest of the way. The best team in the league are the A's, (right now).
  9. He threw a good spliter to Jacque Jones, he didn't swing at it, but it had a nice dropoff to it.
  10. Well ask yourself the question, would you rather Papelbon refine his pitches in the bigs against elite hitter in a penant race, or in AAA where he can tinker with every pitch?
  11. Send him down. Papelbon's offspeed pitches weren't terribly impressive, he needs to refine those in AAA. His fastball is ML ready though. When he refines those pitches, he'll be nasty. Expect him back in September, and he won't ever go back down to the minors.
  12. Oops, thanks for picking up on that.
  13. Cruz is a decent hitter, he hits HR's against righties, and that's all the Red Sox will want him to do. Considering Kapler and Millar blow against righties, this is an ok pickup. As for his fielding, Cruz's great fielding disappered last year, when he was exiled to play for the Devil Dogs, he's more opt to win an Iron Glove this year. As for Bono and Perez, none were that good either. Bono was an 8th round pick, with 3rd round talent, he had a knack for throwing strikes, but he went all Rick Ankiel on the mound, and didn't throw as many strikes as he used to. He still may be something if he can throw strikes Kenny Perez is a utilty infielder who does nothing good. He's Pokey Reese at the plate, and Mark Bellhorn in the field.
  14. Gord Edes is a f***ing retard, he's a Bob Ryan wannabe, don't believe anything he says.
  15. Not with a 200 million dollar payroll, the Yankees will still be competitive every year. The Yankees have exactly 3 prospects to speak about in their farm system, Philip Hughes (who could be an ace), Eric Duncan (who could be really good if he ever learns what a strike is), and Robinson Cano (who WILL be really good). I'm not sold on Wang at all, he has a good fastball, but it doesn't generate a lot of swing and misses, and with that porous Yankee defense, you need all the K's you can get.
  16. We probably would have added Papelbon or Lester. But this would be a good trade regardless.
  17. I feel kinda bad for Embree, this guy got the last out of the 2004 ALCS, it's sad to see him crumble like this.
  18. I was thinking that as well, but why start him tonight, if he's starting tommorow?
  19. I doubt that's how Omar Minaya picks his players.
  20. Sanchez lowered his ERA to 1.31 yesterday. 6 IP's 4 H 1 ER 0 BB 3 K's
  21. I hate this stupid ass saying. It's just Gordon and Rivera, Sturtze's ERA is over 4, he's a decent reliever, but not a savior. As for "F-Rod", he's more apt to slip in the shower (cause of injury) then to throw strikes. The Yankees need help everywhere, and Chacon, Leiter, and Nomo aren't going to get it done. The Red Sox are better at every part of the game, defense, offense, pitching. Your only advantedge is the closer, and Rivera can't pitch 9 innings every day.
  22. Think about it though, Beltran is another big contract, for a good player, not a great one. Also, why would the Mets give up David Wright, he's making the league minimum and is a star in the making.
  23. It's more likely that you'll find a mountain of s*** located in your bedroom. That trade won't happen, neither would the Benson deal.
  24. He'll miss a few games. Precautionary status.
