  1. A-Rod, I think this severely crippled your arguement right here.
  2. If you're the GM of the Yankees, you would have been fired a long time ago. Melky Caberera is a Corner Outfielder, that's where he plays his best defense. He probably won't be a good defensive outfielder in New York. It's not likely Steinbrenner, will allow his LF or RF to hit .270 with only 12-18 HR's. I'd rather use my massive budget, and go out and get Torrie Hunter. I'd deal Caberera, Wang, and Clippard if that's what it took to get the deal down.
  3. Doesn't matter what Chacon does today. The Yankees offense is going to literally rape Chacin out on that mound today. Prediction: 9-5 Yankees.
  4. Ted Williams, probably.
  5. I'm not sure right now. If he tears up the Mexican league in the winter, and has a pretty good showing in Spring Training, I'd probably put him in Pawtucket. But if he's just average, or the Red Sox want to be conservative, then Portland sounds ok.
  6. I would have said '08, as well, but his age, 26, leads me to believe that he has to be more polished than Kendry Morales. If anyone lives in Florida, he'll most likely be playing for the Red Sox in spring training.
  7. Abreu, will most likely be up sooner. But that's a huge if. There was another Morales signed out of Cuba, who impressed scouts with his raw power. Anyone remember Andy Morales? The Yankees took a shot at the 3rd basemen, after he hit a monstrous HR off the Orioles in Camden Yards, but when he arrived at Yankees camp he had a slow bat, and the only time he could hit a HR is if he was standing on the warning track. This could be a good signing, but he needs at least a year in the minors.
  8. That was pretty good. Good find on those stats.
  9. I read "bad offensive year" and I commented on that.
  10. Youkilis was at first, I think that makes him out automatically.
  11. I'm probably going to regret saying that, because I'll get the Yankee fan accusation from some people here.
  12. If I were the Yankees, I'd offer both Duncans (Eric and Shelly) along with Tyler Clippard, and another pitching prospect. That probably might intrigue the Twins.
  13. That's not even close to fair. Duncan would be tempting, cause of his raw power. But Quezeda? Do you even know who he is? He didn't even set foot in Staten Island. His ERA was 5.94 in Tampa. So he's out. Mitch Jones is a lot like former Sox hand Earl Snyder, lots of HR's, lots of strikeouts. He's an AAAA player, who the Twins won't even show interest in. DePaula, isn't good. He's 26, and headed nowhere. Crosby is a pinchrunner/defensive replacement. Lew Ford can do that for them. You got to up the ante on this one.
  14. I think Cano will win, but Johnny Gomes is certainly more deserving.
  15. He is, but he won't win it. He's only been pitching since the middle of August. It would be unfair to the rookies who have been playing since April and May.
  16. It's Gomes, without a doubt. He's got an OPS of .933, which whips Cano's by almost .200 points, why wouldn't it be Gomes?
  17. Nice try, but they had the same vantage point as Waldman did. Waldman is probably trying to defend the Unit's actions. This isn't the first time the umps have thrown someone out for arguing balls and strikes. There isn't a conspiracy
  18. How could they hear what he said? And how on earth do you have RSN?
  19. No you don't. The Twins would be stupid if they didn't demand at least two of those from the list. If Billy Beane wants Hughes and Duncan for Kotsay, what makes you think that Ryan won't ask even more for the better player.
  20. Irrelvant, Irrelvant, Irrelvant He's a backup catcher, whose job is to only catch Tim Wakefield. He only gets 150 AB's a year. He's not supposed to go out and hit 50 HR's, as long as he's catching the knuckleball, he's done his job.
  21. He signed a 4 year major league deal. Arbitration doesn't factor in to this process, and besides, even if it did make him Arbitration eligble he wouldn't even come close to finishing up his 6 years to be a free agent.
  22. Not really, he's got a .709 OPS, and he's a backup catcher. Compare his .709 OPS to Flaherty's .418 OPS. Chad Moeller's .629 OPS Kevin Cash .599 OPS
  23. I hope they do, it's the worst time on TV. Probably Paid Programming.
  24. I doubt, I asked for your opinion.
  25. Pennyco, actually has a valid point. Bill Mueller (according to WEEI back in July) hinted that he'd rather move out toward California, his home.
