  1. Hey at least I made a prediction. Unlike your hairless ass, you just stands by, afraid of public retribution. BTW, Wang still sucks.
  2. Papelbon > Wang
  3. Machado isn't homegrown, he was drafted by the Nationals.
  4. Wow, that's a stupid comment. The Yankees did the exact same thing with a guy named Andy Morales. They signed him to a 4.5 million dollar bonus, and invalidated it because he lied about his age. But, that's ok, because it was the Yankees right?
  5. Those are players in the minor leagues that haven't reached the big league club. Homegrown talent right now: H.Ramirez C.Hansen J.Papelbon M.Delcarmen K.Youkilis T.Nixon K.Shoppach
  6. Dumb question. I can't believe you guys even dignified this with a response. A homegrown player is a player who is drafted, and groomed within the ranks of your minor league system. He also can't play for another club. Last time I checked Hansen met all these reqirements.
  7. Lilly is going to come up big tonight, Toronto 6, New York 4
  8. Why should Tito be fired? Don't one of you remember that Tito saved the Red Sox for a 7 game series against the Yankees in 2004. The Red Sox have had no closer, no ace pitcher, and a extremely disappointing pitching staff. How is Tito at fault with that?
  9. Anyone else shocked that the Bucs are 2-0?
  10. You're all dumbasses, if you think this team needs to get booed. They've only lost one of their last 4 series. They still hold a two game lead on the Wild Card, and they play the hapless D-Rays, which should result into a 2 out of 3, or a sweep.
  11. Wow, I'm optimistic on your chances of being a total dumbass. Jesus christ, that pitch was a great one, right on the inside corner. It only looked inside, because Jeter was hanging on the plate. You lost, that's all there is to it. This isn't the god damn Kennedy conspiracy, it's just a f***ing ball game, just concide defeat.
  12. Renteria has the day off today. Cora will get the start.
  13. Well if he went from -9 to -7, that's a +2 upgrade. Still 3rd worst in the AL East.
  14. A-Rod, has been OK. He hasn't been great. But, explain how he is the worst AL East defensive 3B? The stats are right in front of you. Don't dodge the question. By the way, A-Rod is the MVP.
  15. That wasn't the question. But if it makes you feel better you brought something completely obvious.
  16. And you would explode in your pants if the Red Sox got A-Rod, or Jeter.
  17. That was a great play. I was stunned that he could get the DP off in time.
  18. You asked for a reference, you got it. Don't throw it out, because it hurts your arguement.
  19. You contridicted yourself. You stated you wanted A-Rod's stats from the past, but you threw out a clutch play by Ortiz. I'm kinda befuddled. Everyone knows Ortiz sucks at defense only a moron would object to that. Anyway, A-Rod had a +5 FRAA at 3rd, last year, and 1 FRAA, at SS two years ago. Ortiz, has a +1 FRAA this year at 1st base, meaning he hasn't been great, but he hasn't sucked ass.
  20. Sorry to interupt your orgy, but two points: 1. You can't base a players defense, on one play. You seem to forget that A-Rod's FRAA (Fielding Runs Against Average) is -7. Compare that with: Bill Mueller: 4 Corey Koskie: 5 Alex Gonzalez: -7 Melvin Mora: -4 He is tied for the worst defensive 3rd basemen in the AL East. You got to give Gonzalez credit, since this is his 1st year at 3rd, A-Rod has two under his belt. 2. As for Ortiz' clutch defense, I recall a play in Game 3 of the World Series. That perfect throw to nail Suppan.
  21. Wow, I can't believe you think the Red Sox could blow a 15 game lead. C'mon, do you really believe the Yankees have a good enough pitching staff to take the lead in the division and hold onto it? The Red Sox will be fine, our bullpen will be OK. Timlin, Papelbon, Bradford, Myers, and then Hansen, when he gets up. The starting rotation, on every time out, can give us a chance to win. Wells, Wakefield, Clement, Schilling, and Arroyo isn't great, but it is consistant. They should do enough to keep us in the game.
  22. Out of curiousity, do you consider late game situations to be clutch, or RISP average?
  23. 15-4.5= 10.5 4-1.5= 2.5 Look at the difference.
  24. Pedoria could hit 20 HR's. He hits a lot of doubles, and has an extremly good eye. The power will probably come as he develops more. Brandon Moss, hit 51 XBH this year for Portland. He's only 21, so expect more from him. Shoppach is a glaring omission, you forgot. He had a .507 Slugging percentage for the Paw Sox this year. Claudio Arias, a 3B, playing for the Wilmington Blue Rocks, has a TON of power potential. He hit 20 HR's, in only 271 AB's. He isn't a major prospect, but if he gets some plate discipline he could be a serious prospect.
  25. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/standings/index.jsp?ymd=20050719 The White Sox went from fifteen up of the Guardians and fell to only 4.5 in front. As of that date, the were 62-30, (Winning Percentage .678), it fell 73 points, and they have played below 500, for the last several months. That is a free fall. A major slippage of ground, and winning percentage points The Red Sox since, Sept. 1st, I'm picking this date, because really no one was panicking even when the Yankees fluctiated to 1.5 back, and back to 3. Back the point, the Red Sox have played .533 ball, going 8-7. That isn't a free fall. They've only ceded 1 1/2 games to the Yankees since the series ended.
