  1. Lefthander Kason Gabbard, a 29th-round draft pick in 2000 who was 9-2 with Double-A Portland, is expected to be called up to replace Wakefield and start Saturday vs. Seattle.
  2. *Uncomfortable feeling* (Why doesn't any wish something like that on Taylor Hicks?)
  3. Why the f*** is Kapler in there?
  4. :angry::angry::angry: womak n brown 4 sturtze?
  5. Probably replayed, but they won't call it.
  6. Posada was called safe on an obvious ground ball out.
  7. I can't recall a blown call to this magnitude. Could you fill me in?

  9. That should be the game.
  10. YS, and the old guy.
  11. Let's get the win, and give it to Papelbon.
  12. I think the guy was joking.
  13. The Saints get to play 8 home games this year. That should help them. Look, no one is saying the Saints are going to make the playoffs, but they aren't a team you can just check off for two wins.
  14. Mariners stay in the game. Rodriguez and Posada leave the bases loaded.
  15. EDIT* Wily Mo Pena? Where would he fit if the Red Sox traded for Abreu?
  16. How close was that ball to being gone? I don't have any faith in Trup's call.
  17. I wouldn't say that. I'd just chalk it up to bad baseball.
  18. Anyone else think trading for Tom Gordon and moving Papelbon to the rotation would help? Or are we overracting again?
  19. Wells should be back soon. (wow)
  20. Wow. This guy should be in Vegas. (for real)
  21. I should have said DT. Anyway, on the Panthers. The NFC South is going to be a tough division, but Carolina is the favorite. Though, I somehow doubt that you can say with any certaintly that they will win a championship in the middle of July.
  22. In 2005? No In 2004? Yes
  23. Peterson is so good, that he could have played in the NFL in 2004. He's a 25-35 carries per game kind of guy. The knock on Bush is that he's an outside runner. Peterson can do both. He's much stronger then Bush, and though not nearly as fast, he's got agility to turn the corners. I'm not saying Bush is going to flop, but he's going to wear down. His frame isn't going to hold up in the NFL. I'd guess that Bush gives you six superb seasons, then he'll decline. He could last longer, but that depends how he's used. He's not a 20 carry running back, so to maximize his potential, he's got to be on the field as a kick returner, and sometimes as a slot receiver. If the Saints just use him as a running back, he could last longer. Peterson, however, can take a beating. For him to come in as a freshman, and almost run for 2,000 yards really shows you how special he is. I think a favorable comparison is a slightly faster Larry Johnson. I could be wrong, but if there ever was a can't miss HOF, this guy is it.
