  1. What the hell? He's just stating his opinion that Pena is better then Kapler.
  2. Absolutely. A-Rod is arguably the best player in the game, who desperately needs a change of scenery. Getting out of New York which badly effects his HR numbers, and into Fenway Park would greatly boost his stats. (hink 50 HR's) Also, he'd move back to shortstop where he is much more comfortable, and among the best in the game. Add in the mental aspects which constantly plauge A-Rod everyday. Getting out of that can only help Rodriguez. He's got to be tired of getting booed everytime he looks at a strike, or being reminded on the street that he's not Jeter. In Boston, the pressure is much lower. He won't be expected to hit 500 HR's every single AB. Also, you got to expect the Yankees would eat a portion of the salary. The Red Sox would get rid of $20 million per year, while adding $16 million in return. It's also easier to add a outfielder, then a shortstop. They way to look at it is Carlos Lee and Alex Rodriguez, or Manny and Lugo or Gonzalez. The production is clearly superior toward the former. It's controversial issue, but Rodriguez is clearly the better player out of the two. OK, ready to be blasted 1,2,3.....
  3. Let's watch Francona pitch Hansen for two innings.
  4. He'd probably die without a space suit. :dunno:
  5. Anyone else willing to give up 10 years of the Red Sox winning the World Series in exchange for Taylor Hicks being relocated to the moon?
  6. Holy s***! He slid into homeplate!
  7. Pathetic AB for Kapler. Please tell me why we traded for Pena if we're not going to use him.
  8. Francona is starting to make me doubt the Arroyo trade. (Maybe a trade happened of Pena?)
  9. Kris Wilson isn't a major league pitcher. (He's better then Tavarez though)
  10. My reaction to the fact that Kason Gabbard is pitching for the Red Sox. http://www.cox-internet.com/henderhaven/lea/Basic%20Emoticons/039.Suicide.gif (Though Gabbard has the chance to do something, the M's hit a lot of groundballs, and Kason induces a lot of groundballs)
  11. He's fanned 13 batters in 15 IP. What's wrong with that?
  12. http://laki.dvhk.pl/beta/cutenews/data/emoticons/suicide.gif (Though, I actually like Snyder a little bit)
  13. I don't understand why the Red Sox would stop trying to improve their ballclub. They'd still make a play for Schilling, and they'd probably sign Foulke after the disastrous bullpen by committee expirence.
  14. No one else has them. You can take them.
  15. The Red Sox would stop improving their team?
  16. As complete as the Liriano for Seanez deal.
  17. Was at the GCL complex for about an hour. Doubrount looked like a pretty good pitcher. Good command, good fastball with a nice sink to it. They didn't have any scoreboard radar guns, but it looked like he was throwing around 87-92 mph. His slider also looked very promising. He could develop into a decent two or three starter.
  18. He's 19. They can take time with him.
  19. I didn't see anything negative there. He was referencing Beckett's three HR game to Vernon Wells.
  20. Ramirez is a catcher with power potential. He's a B level prospect. The Guardians are dead, and Wickman has no value to them for 2007. The Braves, however, stand just four games back of the wild card. Wickman should help stablize the bullpen.
  21. When Ruben Sierra starts hitting bombs off you, and A-Rod gets a big late hit, it's bad. But the Twins showed the Yankees by signing Sierra, right? :dunno:
  22. As it stands right now, the Chicago White Sox are currently leading the Wild Card with the Yankees trailing by only 2.5 games. Quietly lurking in the shadows are the resurgent Minnesota Twins, who stand only 5 games back. The question I have for everyone is, is there a team you'd rather see miss the playoffs then the Minnesota Twins? This team has got to be the most dangerous team to face in a playoff series. In the past, the Twins could trot out Santana, and the other team could expect a loss, knowing well that they could beat Radke and Silva. Now, how the hell can anyone matchup with the Twins? Santana and Liriano are by far the best one-two punch in baseball, and Radke can match up with just about any other third starter in baseball. I don't know if they can get there, but I'm hoping that the White Sox and Yankees can hold them off, because I don't see any team beating this one.
  23. Gabbard isn't a pitching prospect. He could potentially be a mop-up man at the highest level. Hopefully, he could get lucky and turn in a few quality starts, but I wouldn't bank on it. Even if he does, he isn't going to be in the big picture for the Red Sox. He's a left-hander with a fastball that can't hit 90, and his secondary stuff isn't anything to brag about.
