  1. I don't think so. Oswalt's K's are way down this year. His WHIP is 1.41, as well.
  2. Why didn't Gibbons just use Downs to start the inning?
  3. Great. He shutout the Royals. He had a 1.51 WHIP coming into tonight's game, so let's not start jacking ourselves off, yet.
  4. How many HR's are hit in this inning? I'll go with 4.
  5. No, Towers would have thrown a CG 1 hitter.
  6. Rodriguez has had success in the postseason, before. I don't understand when a player in a major market has a few bad series, people automatically chalk it up to the guy not being clutch, or can't handle the pressure. Look at all these players, these guys are celebrated for being "clutch," but they've all been through a Rodriguez' like slide. It happens.
  7. You know, I would buy this, if you said something like, "You're probably right, but I think it would be cool to see A-Rod in a Sox uniform." Instead, you tried to prove me wrong, claiming that Joel Sherman was a deity of baseball knowledge, and Brian Cashman would not give A-Rod anymore money.
  8. I'll make this quote true.
  9. One of these days, Joel Maddon will learn to manage a baseball team.
  10. Why isn't he playing 2B?
  11. Players that Scaffolds said would be stars.
  12. $50, the winner is someone like Eric Fraizer, just to be controversial and edgy.
  13. Means absolutely NOTHING in terms of this year. And this thread is in the General Baseball Talk. If they want to talk about the Dodgers closer, they can. League ERA (NL) - 4.12 League ERA (AL) 4.40 Let's say that the NL is 6.4% easier to keep runs of the board than the AL. Saito - 1.47 ERA X 6.4% = .09 + 1.47 = 1.56 ERA Papelbon - 1.87 ERA Even if you account for the league difficulty, Saito's still got the better ERA. Out of the General Baseball Talk section?

  15. No, but this tells us how much crucial outs the pitcher is getting. Saito's been used more in tight situations, and has been succeeding in those situations. No, you can't. How is this relevant? 33% chance? Oh, I guess Saito's .70 WHIP, which is lower than all three of those pitchers, doesn't mean anything, because no one cares about him outside of LA.
  16. The best doctors are in Cuba. Michael Moore said it, so it must be true.
  17. High salaries don't lead to increased ticket prices. The greater demand in tickets, the greater the price. You can put a cap on salaries, but that's only going to benefit the owners of the club. They'll still jack up the price of tickets as long as people continue to turn out in record numbers. Cap or no cap.
  18. soxprospects.com usually has the probables.
