  1. I'll take Fielder.
  2. I'm not sure, but I heard that if A-Rod opts out of his current deal, that would terminate whatever Texas has to pay to the Yankees. If he doesn't opt out, and picks up his player option, Texas is still on the hook. From all indications, I hear Rodriguez is going to opt out, and then sign a new contract with the Yankees. That would free Texas from the deal.
  3. f***ing A. Should be 2nd and 3rd.
  4. f***. I was hoping he'd get a start.
  5. Lidge LOB% is at 78.1%, which is a pretty solid ratio. (Mariano Rivera, the uber-clutch performer has a 71%.) His periphial statistics are pretty good. The ERA might not be sustainable, due to the rather high WHIP of 1.28, but he's still striking out batters at a great rate. Lidge won't come cheap, and really won't be a difference maker for the Red Sox. He'd be a great 7th/8th inning reliever, but I'm not entirely comfortable with a pitcher who's walking 1/2 a batter every inning. Pass.
  6. I've heard this rumor too many times to care.
  7. No, if he signs a new contract, Texas is freed from their salary obligation.
  8. What the f*** are you talking about? Lately? He's been hitting over .300 since May 29th. Don't you have an AAA game to prepare for?
  9. Bubba Bell and Masterson, have been promoted to Portland.
  10. Crushed. 7-5, Yankees.
  11. He doesn't have the testicular fortitude to play in Boston.
  12. Also, those stats at High-A, came at the most extreme hitters park in professional baseball. The idea that someone can produce an ERA that low, in that league, is insane. It should certaintly create some positive vibes. The kid is 20 years old, which is all the more impressive of how he's at AA right now. This kid is 19 years old. He has 28 doubles in his first professional season. Those kind of hitters usually develop power. If he had 600 AB's, he would have 70 XBH's. I don't think he's lacking anything. Neither would I, but this trade offer is not terrible. Another pitching prospect, and this deal would be acceptable.
  13. Since 2005. 120 IP 65 H 17 ER 31 BB's 186 K's. ERA - 1.28 WHIP - .80 K/9 - 14.0 I can't say I fault their enthusiasm.
  14. Ramirez fans the side in order.
  15. Jason Tyner is not a DH.
  16. Management. The used Mo Vaughn's money on Jose Offerman. How big of an upgrade would Vaughn have been?
  17. This guy needs to be traded. He can't possibly succeed with the way he's being used.
  18. The only thing Ortiz has in common with Lewis, is their skin color.
