  1. Every player listed is ahead of Cano and far ahead of Navarro.
  2. See Alvarez, Abe. They are damn near identical pitchers, but Hottovy has less mileage on his arm, being that he was a reliever at Witchita State. Although, the current Sox ownership does an oustanding job at keeping their pitcher healthy (much of Manny D.'s arm issues come from prior ownership and high school, same deal with Lester), so Abe's arm should never become a problem.
  3. I guess you cannot read. This is for Sox Prospects, dummy.
  4. What makes you say that? By the way, he's better than both Navarro and Cano. Crespo, I was thinking of putting Sanchez on there, but I want to see more consistent off-speed from him. 90% of what he threw was his mid-90's heat. Granted, he has a fantastic fastball with outstanding control, but that's really all it takes to be good in the low minors. He's going to need more, but I'm confident he can get there.
  5. Mine: 1. Hanley Ramirez 2. Brandon Moss 3. Jon Papelbon 4. Abe Alvarez 5. Kelly Shoppach 6. Dustin Pedroia 7. Manny Delcarmen 8. Jon Lester 9. Juan Cedeno 10. Jeremy West
  6. Actually, now that I see the complete list, it's not that bad. Although, I would have replace Jackson with Moss, moved him to #2 and shifted everyone down one. This gives me an idea... (see new thread).
  7. They mentioned Kyle Jackson in the Top 10? Now they're just doing local bias. Kid's from New Hampshire; OK control, but bad stuff. He really doesn't have anything. There are 30-40 guys I would put ahead of Jackson easily and he made FSN's top 10? Crazy.
  8. No, I missed it and I rarely trust large media outlets of any kind in ranking prospects. Most don't follow them closely enough to give an accurate rating. Moss is my #2 behind Hanley.

    Derek Jeter

It's a close call. For the money they're making? Cabrera. If there was no money involved? Jeter, but I'd move him to 2B where less range is needed, then I'd sign Cabrera. You can call me Captain Cop-Out.
  10. Mediocre rotation, overworked bullpen, poor defense and injury issues. Doesn't sound like a championship recipe to me.

    Derek Jeter

Like I said, F% isn't a great indicator of an outstanding defensive player. If you can't get to many balls, then you aren't that great of a fielder. Cabrera blows away Jeter in RF (my favorite defensive stat), though. I'd take Cabrera over Jeter defensively any day. Offensively? Jeter is the better hitter, mostly because he takes more walks with the power numbers being equal (save for this year, I dunno what happened to him in Montreal, but he's turned it around for us). I do honestly believe that Cabrera could challege for the single-season doubles record of 67 if given a full season in Boston. He hit 50 in Montreal last year and 15 in 36 games for the Sox already.
  12. 257? Yes. .400? No, especially considering the number of at bats he already has.
  13. Alberto Concepcion? Not really. He might make the bigs as a backup, but I wouldn't expect too much more out of him. He's no Shoppach.
  14. I agree on Shoppach not being ready, but Varitek for anything more than another season doesn't sound safe.

    Derek Jeter

Career F%: Cabrera- .977 Jeter- .975 Besides, F% isn't the best way to judge a fielder. I prefer RF myself, with a dash of F%.

    Derek Jeter

    Erm, no he doesn't.
  17. Hey, did you guys know that, in ebonics, Derek Jeter's name is Derek Jizzeter (sound it out). Boo ya, bitches.
  18. Hey, where'd all the smack talk go? Sunnavabitch.
  19. He's older than I am!
  20. Oh, you mean the one who is having his first healthy season this year in about 3-4 years and had an ERA well over 4 in AA with sub-standard stuff? Yeah, I'm really impressed. By the way, his name is Chien Min-Wang.
  21. Looks like you're out of prospects, empire. By the way, Navarro wouldn't crack the Sox top 10 either. No question, most overrated prospect in the game.
  22. First, what does that have to do with Jon Papelbon? Second, he wouldn't even crack the Sox Top 10. Please, if you're looking to start a prospect fight, you are absolutely doing it with the wrong person.
  23. Just like a mother, Mrs. Papelbon told her son to go on soxprospects.com and answer some questions! He just got power back in Florida and has only answered two questions thus far. The questions by site owner: Pap's answers: Wicked cool. Here's the link: http://p209.ezboard.com/fredsoxprospects57...picID=263.topic

    2.5

He doesn't in this series, we get Redman tonight and Hudson tomorrow.
  25. Pedroia is definitely in Portland next year. The same could probably be said for Hanley in Pawtucket. At the rate these two are going they could be Boston's DP combo at some point next season. *drools*
