  1. Dub will be dominant. We're getting a win tonight.
  2. His hitting is awesome? Since when is .237/.313/.328 awesome? That's pathetic! That's not even a .650 OPS! Bernie Williams is below average in every aspect of the game now. Your boy is done.
  3. The only thing Bernie continually crushes are his knees everytime he takes a step. Your boy is done. Loud done.
  4. Pedroia is more ready than Hanley, as previously stated. He's proven he can mash AA pitching. Give him the bump to AAA and let's see what he can do there. If he continues to rake at the ~.350/.450/.500 career line that he has, trade Bellhorn on July 31 and start the kid. Of course, this is assuming that Bellhorn reverts to 2003 and Pedroia is outstandingly excellent. I don't see it happening, but it is the most likely option. Youkilis over Millar should also be fazed in. It'll give the kid more playing time, because he will be starting for this team in some capacity in '06 and maybe it forces Millar to start hitting. It's a win-win situation.
  5. I still hate the Renteria signing.
  6. Danny Graves blows. He tops out at 88 and defines the word ineffective. He's a 1000 times lesser version of Mantei. No thanks.
  7. Shopp's offense would be better than the 2 homers we have from Millar at this point. Don't forget the Fenway effect; everyone hits well at Fenway. You take Millar out of Fenway last season and into a neutral park and he's a .250/.325/.400 hitter at best. Shoppach could do that in a neutral park easily and would do better at Fenway.
  8. Me and the boys at NetSports have been kicking that around. Some have questions, others like the idea. It's worth a shot. He'd be better than Millar. PS- Last night was Shopp's first game back at C in a while; he'd been DH'ing due to a sprained foot.
  9. Shoppach hit another homerun last night, making it .270/.387/.562; 21/42; 7, 11 in 137 AB's.
  10. Two words: Andy Marte.
  11. Correction: No Sox player who was a contributing member of the 2004 World Series Championship team should be booed at home. Everyone else is fair game, especially Renteria. I was never in favor of the signing and likely never will be. I've been disappointed in Theo for that move from the start.
  12. Some game last night. Wow.
  13. You could say that about any one of the four remaining teams. I'm having an impossible time picking a winner. They all have pros and cons. Gun to my head: Heat* over Suns- but I really have no idea. *If Shaq is healthy.
  14. Renteria sucks. Millar sucks too. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
  15. I think Theo's going to look for a young bopper for 1B or 3B. Millar and Mueller don't fit either of those roles. Youk will be the $300,000 man at the other position.
  16. Our starting pitching kicks ass. Arroyo-Miller-Clement have all been outstanding. Wake shows his typical flashes of brilliance. Once Schill comes back and David Wells remembers who he is, we should be more than all set.
  17. Dae-Sung Koo is a better hitter than Renteria. Did you see that swing he put on that Unit fastball yesterday? Not only that, but he's a lefty. If only he could play shortstop.
  18. Should be a good game. Hoping for a win.
  19. Through May 21st, Shopp is hitting .273/.392/.555 with a 20 to 38 BB/K with 6 2B's and 10 HR's in 128 AB's. He has cooled off a little bit, but there was no way he was keeping up that April pace. Plus, he's had a sprained foot for a couple of weeks and has been limited to DH duty only.
  20. http://www.baseball-reference.com/f/foulkke01.shtml Only in his first season has he been anything but above average. He was damn good with the White Sox except for that one stretch at the beginning of '02. I think we're just seeing a repeat of '02, a season in which he finished with an ERA+ over 150.
  21. Shallow Thoughts by Jack Handey: Dub was dominant last night. We always manage to hit Hudson. What the hell is wrong with Foulke?
  22. Doug'll be fine. They made the right call on who to bring up to the big leagues, though. Shopp still needs to play everyday to get his consistency down. If this had happened after the All-Star Break, then Shopp would've been the better option, but it's only May and he needs to get in a rhythm.

    info?

If Damon lowers it to three, he's returning. Anything more and he won't be back.
