  1. Andy freakin' Pettitte, my boy. http://www.major.jp/fa/images/pettitte1.jpg
  2. I hope he's managing the Yankees next year after Steinbrenner acts stupid and fires Torre.
  3. And that puts him ahead of 68% of the league, who are dumber than a post.
  4. Who cares about baseball? Baseball is over now. However for the record, go Astros.
  5. Kill yourself. (directed to A-Rod)
  6. I half jokingly request to change my user name to something a little less gay. Like RichardSimmonsfan12345. You all know I've been A-Rod's top advocate here, but his performance has just disheartened me. He has an average series and we win in 4. He could have made the biggest impact and he didn't. My feelings are similar to 2003, just totally dissapointing.
  7. http://mysite.verizon.net/vze20ebm/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/livestrong.gif If you don't want to get into specifics, believe me we understand. However if you don't mind shedding a little more light I'm sure we'd all like to know what's going on. Best of luck my friend.
  8. If Curry plays to his potential, this will be a steal for the Knicks. We're talking about a guy who can be a franchise pivot for 15 years.
  9. I've been saying this for a good 4 months now, don't stress yourself over it. Remember, it's like trying to preach Western Society to backward nations like Alabama.
  10. Believe me I know, he actually looked very good. I just love the numbers we have against him historically, and I think seeing him for the second time in a week will work to our advantage. Of course, the same can be said about Mussina.
  11. First off, saying Rivera won't pitch in Game 5 is just dumb. He's pitched more than 3 innings in 2 days, believe me. His problems arise when he has to go 3 consecutive days or more. Second Colon scares me, not in the least. The Yankee lineup has already had one look at him and put up 4 runs. His back is bad, his fastball will be up and hittable. I think we can definitely win tomorrow night.
  12. I'm just incredibly surprised with how easily you are taking this. Boston has always been a bottom line, win or be villified all winter kind of city. It seemed like the players played without the resiliency they showed last year, not the same drive. They did their job, got the Series there. And you guys seem to be cool with that. It's just weird to me. And that kind of atmosphere is not the kind that becomes a dynasty. I'm not saying you should go ape s*** over the team, but you are rationalizing it awfully quick. Boston doesn't win the World Series last year, and the attitude is different is all I'm saying. And you can't rationalize this year's failure with the success of the year before. You don't play up to your potential like that, and you don't win multiple championships like that. It seems to be that's what the players did this year, and as a fan that would piss me off.
  13. 2004 made you people complacent. Unless you start wanting it again, it's going to be a helluva long time before you win it again. Just my opinion.
  14. While I like Sweetney, I don't mind taking a shot with Curry. He could make a big impact, and with him they could make some noise. The heart thing is scary, but what the hell? I didn't expect anything from this team anyway.
  15. Ironic is Millar making a ridiculously good catch in his last play. You see, irony is when what is expected to happen and what actually does happen are totally different. For example, it is ironic that Randy Johnson was hired because he pitches great in October, and didn't. Sorry, I don't even care about the irony thing. I saw Stephen Lynch the other day in the city and he said that a few times, I found it funny. Oh yeah, and on this topic. I think you guys are accepting with this way too quickly. I would be pissed if my season went out with a whimper like that. Dissapointing is loser talk. Where's the s*** like "KILL THE UMPIRE!" Some entertaining stuff.
  16. Yeah, but Rivera has been better than Colon this year. The Cy Young is supposed to go to the best pitcher. That was Santana, but Rivera > Colon.
  17. Helps the Angels I think. The dropoff from the start to end of there rotation is much more severe for them than us. I wish last night was rained out, that was pathetic. I got goosebumps because it reminded me of 2003 ALCS Game 7. Down big early with the ace on the mound, starter comes in with 2 on and nobody out, gets the strikeout and doubles up the leadoff hitter to shut down the rally and keep it close. Then the Yankees made their run and got ahead 6-5. Damn you Randy Johnson.
  18. Wang made the error on the throw, and left the pitch up to Cabrera. He had a chance to get out of it, and he didn't. Offense is playing like s***, but I think I'll give some credit to the Angels in having good pitching.
  19. I'm almost afraid to come into this thread. What happened guys?
  20. Boston really, really needs to win today. A split back home and they'll take the series. 0-2 hole is a tall order.
  21. Best pitcher in the second half, Andy Pettitte!
  22. Santana should win it, Rivera should be up there too. And Colon is not that good of a pitcher.
  23. Moose has looked pretty good. Another inning and I'll be happy, another 2 and I'll be ecstatic. As to that questions as to who we'd rather play, I don't think it makes that much of a difference. We play the way we can, we'll win. We play poorly, we're going to lose, regardless of the opponent. Just gotta focus on beating whoever's on the schedule.
  24. Cy Young is not most valuable pitcher, it's best pitcher. That's like saying a hitter shouldn't win MVP because they've got the Silver Slugger or Hank Aaron Award. Pitcher's can be (and often are, in reality) MVP.
  25. Him picking against the Yankees is nothing new, he's done it forever. Actually, only one person from ESPN picked the Yankees to take the whole thing, and one person took Boston to go all the way. Kind of interesting, we're no longer the trendy picks to take it all. Lots of Astros and Angels picks.
