  1. Clemens was in line for the loss tonite until lance berkman doubled in the tying run in the bottom of the 9th, taking Clemens off the hook. Score was tied 1-1 until Dotel blew it in xtra innings. Another great performance by Clemens.
  2. Try 12-0 with a 1.00 ERA. That's ridiculous.
  3. So. 12-0 A's, 3-3 in the Yankee game. Jeter has two hits.
  4. Make that 7-7, the O's came back with a bunch of runs. And Derek Jeter - the big man on campus, had a multihit game. That makes nine games this season with more than one hit. He's played 44. That's just one more multihit game than Pokey Reese...who's played in 3 less, and has a batting avg about 60 points higher. And a paycheck about 15 million less.
  5. Edit - he hit another one tonight. A three run shot. 8 to go.
  6. Dominique is currently making his debut. Good luck.
  7. Wait, crespo struck out? Who'd a thunk it? In the game on sunday, when Pokey came on defensively for Crespo in the 9th, he nearly got a standing ovation. God I hate Cesar.
  8. Youki hit by a pitch on full count.
  9. Schilling's doing fine, we don't need the strikeouts, this is the kind of performance we want from him. Try to keep down the pitch count though.
  10. I am so mad at Griffey it hurts. This is a guy who right now should have 650 homeruns. Instead, he is 9 away from 500 (which is still a lot, don't get me wrong) and a ticket into the HOF. Is he among the best ever? What do you all think?
  11. Kevin - here's an idea. Hit the god damn ball.
  12. Trade bait, that's what. Remember, we have some serious trade bait in Kim and Mueller, as well as Damon (although it'd be nice if we could keep him, especially with how he's playing right now)
  13. I'm actually okay with this. Youki gets to play a lot, and Andy Dominique has been a monster in Pawtucket. As much as I like Mueller, this gives the Sox a serious chance to take a look at Kevin. But I hope for Bill's sake it's not extremely serious and he makes a quick recovery.
  14. RSR - are you taking shots this time or no? Let's go SOX! Yankee game postponed by rain.
  15. How about instead of shopping Nixon...we shop Crespo!!! Seriously though, I don't think Mondesi is necessary. I think Nixon is very necessary.
  16. I dunno man. It really depends how he does this season. If he really wants to stay with Boston, he won't go asking for ridiculous amounts of money.
  17. Nevermind about their ending hot streak though. They've got the best record in MLB.
  18. Wakey should do well. I see Youkilis hitting another HR today, and manny going 8 for 8 (that's right, he'll have 8 at bats and hit a homerun in each of them." In all seriousness though, Tito had a great quote about Manny: ``Every time Manny goes to the plate, it's very unfair,'' Boston manager Terry Francona said. ``He's just such a good hitter that sometimes when he makes an out it surprises you a little bit. And that's not fair."
  19. I say don't even bother trying to trade him. Just hold on to him for the year. I think he's good foir 12-15 wins, and then we just don't resign him. If he gets his head out of his ass and decides to cut his asking price, say, I don't know, in half, then maybe sign him for 3 more. If not, adios muchacho.
  20. down 9-6, I'd like a comeback to occur starring Youkilis. The sox have struck out way too much tonight, I'm not impressed. It's nice to see Varitek coming out of his minor slump.
  21. I just realized why Zambrano doesn't give up hits - IT'S BECAUSE HE DOESN'T PITCH THE BALL. 8 Walks and hit batter. Ridiculous. And the sox only got 3 runs off this scrub. As for D-Lowe - good luck resigning for 10 million a year. No, really, cause someone will pay you that.
  22. Great job RJ, no one deserved it more than you. Sorry fella, you're in the HOF, but it's all downhill for here. You got no offense behind ya.
  23. Not to mention some new bench depth in Kevin Youkilis.
  24. The Angels hot streak may have just ended... Troy Glaus needs surgery that will sideline him at least two months, possibly the rest of the season. It's too bad, this one looked like it could have been a huge comeback year for him. Oh well. Glaus may be out for season
