  1. That works too. Youkilis NEEDS to be in games.
  2. Well I finally read through this entire thread, and I have a few thoughts... a) Why not have Mueller play second, Youkilis at third, and Bellhorn on the bench. He'll be extremely valuable as a switch hitter off the bench, and he has a better chance of getting on than Ramon Vasquez. He may even be a better defensive replacement than Vasquez...even at shortstop...who knows. Keep Bellhorn for the season regardless. Like RSR said, we pay him very little (actually, 2.75 mill, which is more than I thought). He's valuable. c) Some current updated stats for argument's sake. Mark's batting .249, ranked 18th among major league second basemen. His OPS is .723, ranked 16th among second basemen. His 71 Ks are ranked first among second basemen, his 34 walks are second. But possibly the most revealing stat, considering he's a #9 hitter: His OBP of .362 is ranked 7th. Discuss.
  3. Two articles on the subject: And a contradicting article: Discuss.
  4. Then I guess the problem is with the American public.
  5. No no no. I mean they (the producers) ask the "Fab 5" to act overly gay.
  6. Jayson Stark wrote a good article about how he has a better chance to not get it. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?columnist=stark_jayson&id=2073025
  7. Queer Eye irritates me in general. They basically ask these guys to act overly gay, and I can't stand to watch it for more than a few minutes. I saw this episode only to watch the Sox, but even so, it was quite irritating. I personally think the show is awful.
  8. I don't like Kevin Millar. However, I voted for him because his style is simply streaky. He WILL get hot, and the time is coming soon. He goes through those ridiculous periods of batting 400 over a couple of weeks, and he's due. I'm excited to see it happen.
  9. I just wanted to quote myself. I was in a really f***ed up mood that day. I'll update my predictions: ALEast: Sox ALCent: Twins (sticking to my guns) ALWest: Angels ALWild: ChiSox (Oakland? What was I thinking?) NLEast: Braves (still) NLCent: StLouis (my bad on the Chicago Pick) NLWest: DBacks (absolutely) NLWild: Marlins
  10. I was thinking the exact same thing, ahhh be still my dirty mind.
  11. In the words of my 2005 graduating class (and I have no idea why this is our class quote): K, peace. Bye Alan.
  12. I've been here since the beginnng, but being away most of last summer hurt a lot (two months).
  13. Mussina's knuckle curveball. D-Lowe's 2003 ALDS ending pitch (whatever it was)
  14. That is truely sad. RIP.
  15. I think Edgar's been eyeing number 3 since he got here. What probably went through Wells' head was, "Well, I can't really be doing any worse." As for your signature, come up with another argument. Honestly. Most Sox fans couldn't care less how many more championships you've won than we have. You've won a lot of championships. We get it. This is just the Yankee fan excuse coming up with a new "1918." You've won 6 in the last 40 years. I'm not impressed. I don't think what happened before NINETEEN SIXTY is really relevant. Get over it.
  16. I feel like Boomer wore 16 at some point during his career as well.
  17. If Jennifer Garner is your new avatar forever, you've made me a very happy man.
  18. soxie - I'll tell Bellhorn you said hi.
  19. Edgar and David switched numbers. They'd been talking about it for a while - 3 was Rent's number and David had 16 a few years ago. It seems to be working. But apparently, Rent had to pay some good money for that 3.
  20. They are hitting him SO hard. It's beautiful. Btw, Rent getting 11 hits in his last 13 at bats is disgusting.
  21. I voted 4, but I'm hoping much less. I do think the Sox will...somehow...get to Mussina.
  22. That would be ideal for me. I love Youkilis, and I've always wanted to see what hanley could do. Plus I'm getting a little sick of Johnny, but I don't know why.
  23. Figured I'd update this. These are Hanley's 2005 stats in Portland thus far. PLAYER AVG G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO SB CS SLG OBP E TB SAC SF HBP IBB GIDP H Ramirez .305 38 151 27 46 5 7 2 15 12 23 12 4 .470 .364 6 71 3 0 2 0 5
  24. Here's a positive - the Sox just got 27 hits today, scoring 17 runs. The Yankees scored one, and Clement was dominant. Olerud is going to be an awesome addition to the team. There's a couple for ya.
  25. I saw a total of one yankee fan in the stadium chanting "Let's go Bernie" in the bottom of the ninth. Clement looked sooo good today, and the hitting was incredible.
