  1. He should be released soon, and according to channel 5 news tonight it's probably not career related. But I'm praying over here for a very speedy recovery. He's almost certainly my favorite pro athlete in any sport, definitely in football.
  2. I believe the Nomar reference referred to the fact that he's one of the Top 3 shortstops in the game today...I don't remember where I read that.
  3. I voted other. I'm tied between Varitek, Manny, and Ortiz. The fact that we have both Manny and Ortiz gives me the chills, and I actually get excited everytime I see them together on the field, whether it's practicing, goofing off, or hitting. That 3-4 connection is the single most deadly in MLB.
  4. I got Schilling then Theo.
  5. They most certainly did.
  6. I'm not surprised you didn't catch the satire. It isn't totally making fun of the Anaheim Angel name change. And it isn't a completely ridiculous proposal. And this isn't a completely sarcastic post. You are effectively a moron and have been mod-slapped for your stupidity.
  7. No, you're only saying that cause everyone hates you.
  8. I say do one Spring Training thread for the entire month. That way - if a game isn't televised and someone happens to have access to it somehow, they can post neat and tidy updates if necessary.
  9. I like this contract for both sides of the negotiations. Marlins desperately needed him, and he needed a big money long term deal. The deal has an option for a fifth year, which is worth 16 (if he hits incentives) or 12 (if the Marlins just pick it up).
  10. I'll give it a guess: Winner: New England Patriots Score: 37-10 MVP: I'm going WAY out on a limb here: Tom Brady Predictions: Deion catches 2 TD's, Dillon runs for the other two, not to mention 130+ yards. Tedy Bruschi gets an interception Troy Brown gets an interception Bruschi and McGinest each sack McNabb. Vinatieri nails 3 FGs and 4 extra points for 13 points total. I wonder what the record is for a kicker in a game and for the superbowl... Pats score twice in the 1st quarter, eagles score their TD in the second, FG in the fourth. Not even going to be close.
  11. Two weeks. It could be extended to permenant if he comes back and still hasn't gotten the point that we hate stupid people.
  12. I guess all these "quality posts" really are helping your status here. It has been discussed: enjoy your temporary ban.
  13. Let's see some predictions folks. Winner: Score: MVP: Anything else you may want to predict:
  14. I've noticed that you're not one of those Yankee fans you've mentioned.
  15. As much as I hate saying this, now is not the time or place to trash the Yankees, this is about Football. And the Yankees don't choke under pressure, just against the Sox in '04.
  16. Erection - Please keep posting, you're one of the most informed and opinionated posters here- which makes for an awesomely deadly combination.
  17. Guys, please keep the debate on topic, it really is very interesting and informative, and I would hate to have to move it to fights. Keep the debate active here, and bitch each other out in the Fights section.
  18. I was at that game with YesZir. It was incredible.
  19. I think Pats over Falcons, but I'd rather face the Eagles in the SB. Michael Vick is so good it scares the s*** out of me.
  20. I think I've been to 5 pats games, one at the old Foxboro and 4 at Gillette. It's definitely a fun experience.
  21. Wow, Pedro haters. I do believe BoSox Rule just shat on you. I still love Pedro out of respect of one of the best ever.
  22. PS - fixed the title of the post.
  23. It was on a 3-0 count. It was sooo nice.
  24. I love this guy. He inked a minor league deal with an invite to spring training, and will likely surprise everyone and make the roster again. Maybe this year as a pitcher.
  25. INDIANAPOLIS raped DENVER 49-24.
