  1. This may be totally random, but you don't happen to go to meadowbrook do you? I know the trophy was there today.
  2. They need to find a way to get Youk into that lineup everyday.
  3. Crespo was referring to the blatant lack of offense the Athletics have this year. I would be happy if the sox threw two shutouts against the A's, but not surprised.
  4. Arroyo, Wakefield, Clement, and now Miller seem like they can more than handle themselves. And I'd take 6 innings 3 R from Gonzalez every time he pitches.
  5. At least he blew it against the Mariners, and not a rival like the Orioles or Blue Jays.
  6. Don't complain too much, this guy will replace Blaine Neal in the pen. Thank god for that.
  7. I think he was saying it to the fans who were booing him.
  8. WADE MILLER YAYYYYY! This is game two, I know, but I figured may as well get a game thread going for the return of Wade. http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/us/sp/v/mlb/players/5/6270.jpg Wade Miller, Season Debut http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/us/sp/v/mlb/players/5/6225.jpg Ryan Franklin, 1-4 4.74 ERA Ryan Franklin has lost all of his last four starts: Date Opponent Score Dec IP H R ER HR BB K W L SV IP ERA May 2 LAA L 0-5 L 5.0 5 5 5 2 5 3 1 4 0 38.0 4.74 Apr 27 @ TEX L 2-8 L 4.1 10 7 7 1 3 2 1 3 0 33.0 4.09 Apr 21 OAK L 0-3 L 8.0 4 3 3 1 3 1 1 2 0 28.2 2.51 Apr 16 @ CHW L 1-2 L 8.0 4 2 2 2 0 3 1 1 0 20.2 2.18 This will be Wade Miller's first start since June 25th of last year. He shut down Seattle in his only career start against them, going 6 innings of 5 hit, no run baseball, striking out 4 and walking 2. A big start from Miller will kick so much ass, in short.
  9. I'm almost positive he said "F*ck you guys." I watched the game as well, it was beautiful. I was kinda hoping that maybe it was Andy Philips at 1st who made that huge error, but sadly, it was Tino. I don't have a problem with Tino really. What the yanks are doing to their lineup really has worked.
  10. I watched the whole Yanks game because I'm in Jersey this weekend...it was a beautiful MoMeltdown. These NY announcers are so incredibly naive it's funny.
  11. Let's hear it for mid-week afternoon games. Ew. http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/us/sp/v/mlb/players/5/6498.jpg Bronson Arroyo, 3-0, 3.69 ERA. http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/us/sp/v/mlb/players/5/5885.jpg Jason Johnson, 2-2, 4.61 ERA. JJ walks more batters than he strikes out, which is always a good place to start. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF MEN ON BASE GODDAMNIT. Manny, Millar, and Damon have torn this guy up over their careers, so I'd like to see those first two turn it around against him. Damon - keep doing whatever the hell it is you're doing, it works nicely. JJ lost his only start against us last year, giving up 3 runs (2 earned) over 5 innings.
  12. I just looked it up, it's currently 2005. So no worries.
  13. Wade Miller update from Redsox.com: Thank goodness.
  14. Between Embree and Neal, as well as lack of IMPORTANT offense, this game was just a dagger to the heart. This guy Gonzalez comes up to make an emergency start cause we're f***ing depleted, and does a damn good job. I would have been ecstatic if he lasted four innings and gave up four runs, and he went above and beyond what was needed. A heads up to the Sox: 11 hits are useless if you can't get the runs across the plate. Detroit had one more hit than us...and 5 more runs. De-f***ing-troit. I wasn't impressed by anyone tonight except for our injured pitcher (Mantei) and our minor leaguer.
  15. Juan Rincon of the Twins is the newest member of the "drug abuse" club.
  16. I'm gonna say +13 with Ortiz getting 12. Yes, he's going to break out and bat .500 for the next few.
  17. Not getting my hopes up too much, but sounds exactly like what a rehab start should sound like.
  18. Helton's an amazing hitter, and I'd LOVE to see him anywhere but Colorado so that he finally will get some legitimate MVP recognition.
  19. Well, maybe they'll put this game later in the season when we start winning again. I'm very, very glad for this postponement. I'd rather play games when we're WINNING. I'm also glad to get out of the AL EAST this weekend for a change.
  20. 11-8. Is that 8 unanswered Orioles runs? Embarrassing. Where's Scotty Williamson when you need him? I'd take him injured at this point. Foulke - you know you're in trouble when you're about to be replaced by Dinardo. What the f*** is going on?
  21. 8-7. I'm going to be sick.
  22. Props to Arod for being ridiculous tonite. 3-3 w/ 3 HR, a 2 run shot, a 3 run shot, and a grand slam, totalling 9 RBI. Very impressive.
  23. MANNY!!!! He just ROPED that ball over the monster.
  24. Very nice inning. Everything went according to plan...including Bellhorn's strikeout. If you didn't call that, you're being unrealistic.
