  1. I was mistaken, I believe it was 2 offseasons ago. He was really criticizing the Red Sox owners and Theo for not signing Contreras or something and said that the Yankees front office is much better. I don't remember that well. I'll try to fin a link.
  2. We be embarrassed like the last 2 games on national television. A new winning streak starts tonight. Go Wake!
  3. I'm gonna agree with both of you. McDonough seems too dry and not exciting. Also, he really is not a Red Sox fan. Anybody remember his comments on YES this offseason? Donny O has such chemitry with Remy and they really make a funny combination. IMO they're the best broadcasting combo in the league right now.
  4. I just wanna say that Fransisco Cordero is one helluva pitcher.
  5. But then we'll have either Edgar Renteria, Orlando Cabrera,or Jose Vidro (with Pokey at SS) taking his place.
  6. Damn this day has been really sucky. From reading about Pedro testing free agency to being on the verge of losing 2 games in one night, I'm sick of it right now. I'm just gonna go win the World Series as the Red Sox on MVP 2004. Oh well, maybe we'll come back. But this McCarty, Bellhorn, Kapler, Crespo bottom of the order is killing us. It's unbelievably painful. But hey, we're 15-8 (probably after tonight) with this crappy offense so I really have no complaints. BTW- Not happy with Pedro right now either.
  7. ESPN: No more contract talks until end of season Well I don't know quite what to say. Hopefully we can resign him, but only for the right price. It's not really too good that Pedro should contradict himself by saying he's not talking to the media and then he does when it has to do with money. Any thoughts?
  8. So far (that's a big "so far") this year's team has been the best I've watched in my lifetime. The difference between this year's team and the team's of the past is that this time we actually have great, and I mean great pitching. Our offense isn't spectacular, but it will get much better when Trot and Nomar come back. I'm very happy with the outcome of the season so far, and I just hope (and know) it will last.
  9. I really love these 4-0, 5-0, 2-1, etc. games much more than the 10-9, 11-8, 15-8 games last year. It's just been amazing. Everbody is just pitching awesome right now. Hopefully it will continue into the deep months of the season. I'm definintely looking forward to watching this pitching staff dominate the best bats in the league in October.
  10. Wow I feel insignifigant now. Very nice to see some more Sox fans outside of New England (like myself). You seem like a very intellgent poster and I hope you have fun talking some Red Sox baseball here.
  11. Didn't see any of the game but nice to see an easy win. Schilling (from the box score) seemed dominantand the offense looked good. Let's play two, and win two tomorrow!
  12. When I make my trip to Boston in June, I'll definitely be seeing it. I still hope it goes national so some people down here get the feeling of what I went through last October.
  13. How right you are. Game postponed. Day-night doubleheader Thursday. Damnit! I wanted baseball today!
  14. Mirabelli's 2 homer game in Toronto says hello! But in all seriousness, Mirabelli is actually one of the best backup catchers in the league (probably the best besides Flaherty). Now with that said, he's obviously no Tek, but I really have not too much of a problem with Doug catching Timmeh. Now if Belli catches Wake in the World Series or something, than I'd be a little pissed, but c'mon, Jason needs some rest once in awhile.
  15. The "other" team challenging us for the division (amazing that there's another isn't it?) is Baltimore and they're are playing at home against Seattle this week.
  16. There really aren't words that describe how happy I am with Manny right now. He could've walked into this season with a huge chip on his shoulder, but he didn't. He's been ripping the ball and has been a joy to watch. Apparently he's also always been awesome in the clubhouse, especially this year, and has been great with the media this year. Peter Gammons wrote nice article about him today: Gammons on Manny
  17. Man, I just realized how much I really love that dirty water!
  18. Today we will sweep the MFY in their house. Pedro will be dominating and we will tee off on Vazquez. Well, just win the game. This game is big with the Yankees going into a very tough May schedule (3 against Oakland this week) and us going into a relatively easy one. Let's make the MFY fans cry even more than they are now. Just win, baby. It is on.
  19. I think that's changed since the arrival of Lopez and Pudge. But still, he's one of the most valuable members on the team. It's hard to find a good catcher. Did you see the two great throws he had to 2B yesterday? Pretty awesome. Unless Shoppach is stud-like in AAA this year, I think we should resign Varitek. But that might not be possible with him being a Boras client.
  20. In a rematch of the Patriots Day game, the Sox are looking to aggravate more MFY fans. If we lose then no big deal because this game is essentially a mismatch. If we win, then all the more reason to be happy. Tito said he was most likely going to DH Manny today so don't be surprised to see Kapler or Crespo in LF. Start time 1:05.
  21. I know, it's hillarious. Soak in the moment while it lasts, boys.
