  1. Yep! We aren't striving for uniformity or having it done a certain way. Literally the only thing we care about is that it's up in the morning so we can schedule things around it.
  2. To be clear, anybody can start a game thread. We appreciate if someone wants to take the time to do it, they just need to get it posted before Brandon or I pop over here to do it. Over on Brewer Fanatic, one user has decided he wants to start game threads most days so he just does it around 8am every day, which is before I get to the site to do it myself.
  3. From a site management perspective, we lose. Consistency is a *huge* part of bringing in new users and giving us the ability to promote game threads across the site and/or social media.
  4. He's a low-floor, high-upside guy at this point. But a very intriguing player who has a legit shot to be very good.
  5. Our Brewers minor-league writer is outstanding. Here's his write-up on Rodriguez: https://brewerfanatic.com/milwaukee-brewers-top-prospect-rankings/yophery-rodriguez-r46/
  6. Get up to speed on Yophery Rodriguez here: https://brewerfanatic.com/milwaukee-brewers-top-prospect-rankings/yophery-rodriguez-r46/
  7. Yep, it's the Greek God of Walks.
  8. They had the privilege of facing the Twins in April. It will make anybody look good.
  9. As we gear up for another season of Red Sox baseball, it's time to look at the community members who made Talk Sox great over the winter. Hello, Red Sox fans! Twice a year, I sit down and find the most popular posts and blogs on Talk Sox and their creators receive prizes for their contributions to the newly-relaunched Talk Sox. After a wild Red Sox offseason, there was a lot to talk about. We look at the most popular posts and most popular blogs created by our users. Let's dive into the most popular content of the offseason. Most Popular Post It sure was an interesting offseason. At points throughout the winter, it felt like Triston Casas was a goner. In our most popular post of the offseason, @notin replied that the rumored deal for the Mariners' Luis Castillo fell through due to the Red Sox trying to unload the beleaguered Masataka Yoshida contract in the process. For this popular post, you win this cool box of 1988 Topps baseball cards! Congratulations and private message @Brock Beauchamp with your mailing address! Most Popular Post Runner-Up According to our internal metrics, the second-most popular post of the offseason was (unsurprisingly) about the Alex Bregman signing. @5GoldGlovesOF,75 pointed out that no matter how you feel about Bregman himself, seeing the Sox go out and lock down one of the most prized free agents of the offseason is a huge step in the right direction. Thank you for being such a valued member of the community and private message @Brock Beauchamp for your prize, which is this excellent Fenway Park brick set! Most Prolific Poster We like to hat-tip the community member who accrued the most reputation points over the winter. This offseason, that poster was @mvp 78! Sorry, there's no prize for this, just our undying gratitude (or something). But seriously, without posters deciding to call Talk Sox home every day of the year, none of this would exist. And we thank you for your contributions! Normally, there is another category but due to the newness of the relaunched Talk Sox, no one has utilized the feature yet! So if you have something long-form to say about the Boston Red Sox, write it up in a blog post, which is free and accessible to all Talk Sox members! I'd like to take a moment to thank all of the existing community members for being such a welcoming presence as we transitioned to new ownership and a new platform. I know it's difficult to see one of your favorite places change but you've all been gracious throughout the process, bumps and all. Thank you so much and here's to a successful Red Sox season! 11. We will update this roughly once a week through the draft. Instead of trying to create yet another mock draft board, our draft expert Jamie Cameron has taken the route of averaging out popular draft boards, trying to reach a "consensus" slot for a player in the aggregate. Additionally, Jamie has a pretty detailed write-up for each draftee. Right now, we have roughly one round of picks up but this will expand every week as Jamie adds more draft slots and write-ups. http://talksox.com/mlb-baseball-mock-draft-order-2025-boston-red-sox
  12. I'm really interested to see how Cortes does under the Brewers' pitching system. I'm not predicting a return to form but it wouldn't shock me if it happens, either.
  13. The Brewers are probably the most underrated team in baseball. I think they've kinda broken FIP. Their rotation is not the most impressive but it gets the job done and their bullpen is going to be good, just as it always is. They have some arms in the high minors that will likely end up being late-inning MLB guys pretty soon.
  14. I don't think the Brewers pitching is atrocious but it certainly was in that single series. Which is why we don't put too much emphasis on a single series, particularly early in the season.
  15. Here is a good piece on Twins Daily about them. Bombs Away: Torpedo Bats are Taking Over Major League Baseball - Twins - Twins Daily TWINSDAILY.COM Coming out of left field, torpedo bats are all the rage right now. The bowling pin-shaped bat is a shift from tradition, and is being credited with producing more power. Is the hype real? Who on...
  16. Ouch. Now do Javy Baez!
  17. We offer this feature so it's easy to see how much a reliever has worked in the past seven days. Yellow is throwing 1-19 pitches and red means they threw 20+ pitches on a night. You can also find this link under the Resources link roll at the top of the forum index page. https://talksox.com/boston-red-sox-bullpen-usage/
  18. That would have been a weird choice. I've watched Milner a lot. If he's not effective against LHB, he's not effective. One year of relief data isn't going to change that (Milner is a funky delivery guy).
